Abstract

The Jember State Polytechnic Coffee Product Processing Teaching Factory focuses on ground coffee made from Robusta and Argopuro Arabica coffee. Increasing its existence as a small industry requires binding legalization of products and consistency from human resources who carry out an industry-based work culture, in this case, contained in the legalization of BPOM. Therefore, this service focuses on introducing an industry-based work environment (BPOM). The methods used in this service include counseling and direct practice at Tefa locations where coffee products are processed. Based on the service results, the human resources involved in Tefa's coffee product processing operations are enthusiastic in the counseling process and have a high interest in changing behavior in implementing an industry-based work environment.

Abstract

The Smart Farming concept is identical to the hydroponic cultivation system which is a new revolution in agricultural cultivation methods. Hydroponics is also known as soilless culture, which is a cultivation method that does not use soil as a medium to support plant growth. The advantages of hydroponic greenhouse cultivation include higher yields, the microclimate can be controlled and can be carried out throughout the year without paying attention to weather conditions, so that plant productivity is increased. Apart from the advantages that hydroponic greenhouse cultivation has, it has the potential to increase productivity as described above, the market prospects for the results of hydroponic cultivation are also very promising. The aim of this research is to analyze sustainability and priority strategies in efforts to develop green house hydroponic cultivation using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). This research was conducted in East Java. The results of the analysis show that the most dominant factors that are attributes of sustainability levers are the level of waste management, sales price stability, community conflict, the level of application of modern technology and partnership patterns. The results of the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis show that the priority strategy that can be implemented is the implementation of a partnership pattern with the highest value of 0.445.

Abstract

The Teaching Factory Nursery at Politeknik Negeri Jember has palm oil plantation which is used for student practice. Oil palm plants have entered the TM (Producing Plant) phase, but the palm fruit produced has never been used. Palm fruit that is not harvested and is ripe, if it falls to the ground, will germinate and grow into a new plant, this will make handling more difficult because you have to uproot the plant to clean it. Another problem is that there are no tools that support the processing of palm fruit into Cruda Plam Oil (CPO). Seeing the huge potential of this palm fruit, the proposing team together with the management of the Teaching Factory Nursery agreed to take advantage of the opportunity through community service activities to produce CPO which will later become red palm oil ready for consumption using simple processing equipment. The service activity begins with a FGD to agree on product manufacture, location and equipment maintenance, as well as product marketing. The proposing team also provides assistance in product creation, storage, packaging, and product marketing for program sustainability.  The results of the activity show an increase in partners' knowledge and skills regarding post-harvest management of palm oil. The partners' enthusiasm in demonstrating the stages of processing palm oil into CPO is also able to solve problems and solutions and increase income from product sales.

Abstract

Rejuvination is a rejuvenation pruning that is carried out to improve the quality of coffee plants that are old and no longer productive. This study aims to determine the success of rejuvation in BP 409 and BP 534 clone robusta coffee plants with a 100% pruning system (trimming-unpruning). The rejuvenated plants were then observed including the tallest stem, the longest primary branch, and the number of leaf segments (tides). The results showed that the BP 409 clone grew better than BP 534. The measurement results show that BP 409 has the highest value in all three parameters, while the BP 534 clone has the lowest value in all three parameters. The highest stem reaches 136 cm and the lowest reaches 71 cm. The longest primary branch reaches 80 cm and the shortest is 57 cm. The highest number of leaf segments was 177 pairs and the lowest was 84 pairs. Rejuvination activities can be said to be successful by looking at the data obtained from the research results.

Abstract

Robusta coffee (Coffea canephora L.) is the type of coffee most widely developed by farmers in Indonesia. The BP308 is a clone discovered by the coffee and cocoa research center which is included in the Robusta coffee clone which has a large and sturdy stature. One of the coffee plant maintenance activities that needs to be carried out is pruning so that coffee plant productivity can be optimal by removing old branches that are less productive and replacing them with young branches that are more productive. Pruning is a clipping, especially for plants that have difficulty growing reproductive branches. Clipping is carried out at the beginning of the rainy season so as not to stimulate the formation of flowers on the circumcised branches. The method used T-test calculations from the results of rejuvenation of single stems with treatment of one node and two nodes resulting from clipping on shoot growth and the data is then analyzed using a quantitative descriptive analysis method. The results show that there is no influence on shoot length parameters. However, it has a significant increase in the number of leaves from 1,47 to 2,33, and it has a significant increase in shoot diameter from 1,63 mm to 2,38 mm. This is the first study comparing single vs. double node clipping on BP308 clone under specific microclimate conditions.

Abstract

National sugar production from 2021 to 2024 has fluctuated. Fluctuations in national sugar production are caused by sugar self-sufficiency not yet being achieved. One of the causes is that sugarcane plants experience a lot of nutrient deficiencies. These nutrients affect plant growth, one of which is the process of root formation. Efforts that can be made to initiate root formation are the use of ZPT Atonik which contains the active ingredient sodium para-nitrophel (CP6H4NO3Na) which is classified as an auxin hormone. This study used NXI 4T variety sugarcane seeds which are suitable for planting on dry or dry land, as well as rain-resistant land. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the duration of soaking in Sodium Para-Nitrophel on the growth of bud sets of NXI 4T sugarcane plants. This study used five treatments in sequence, namely sugarcane seeds were not soaked in sodium para-nitrophel solution, sugarcane seeds were soaked for 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, 5 hours. The results of the study showed that the duration of sodium para-nitrophel immersion affected the growth of bud sets in the observation parameters of plant height, number of leaves, number of shoots and root wet weight, but did not affect the observation parameters of root dry weight.

Abstract

Abstrak Produksi kelapa di Indonesia mengalami fluktuasi. Penyebab fluktuasi produksi kelapa yaitu mayoritas petani di Indonesia belum melakukan budidaya tanaman kelapa berbasis Good Agriculture Practice (GAP). Budidaya tanaman kelapa berbasis GAP masih belum optimal diimplementasikan karena petani belum mampu melakukan pemilihan dan seleksi benih, persemaian benih, pembibitan, serta cara pemeliharaan tanaman kelapa. Kecamatan Gumukmas merupakan salah satu daerah dengan penghasil buah kelapa yang rendah dibandingkan dengan daerah lain di Kabupaten Jember. Minimnya pengetahuan dan ketrampilan mitra dikarenakan masih minimnya tingkat pendidikan pada anggota mitra. Solusi untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan mitra yaitu memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan kepada mitra. Tahap kegiatan meliputi koordinasi rencana kegiatan, Go Desa dan Course Day, serta evaluasi dan monitoring. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah pengetahuan mitra mengenai pengendalian hama Oryctes rhinoceros meningkat. Hal ini dilihat dari sesi tanya jawab serta hasil pretest dan post test mitra pada saat pengabdian. Hasil akhir pengabdian ini mitra memiliki motivasi kuat untuk melakukan pengendalian hama O. rhinoceros berbasis GAP. Kata kunci: kelapa; pengendalian; pengetahuan; produksi. Abstract Coconut production in Indonesia fluctuates. The cause of the fluctuation in coconut production is that the majority of farmers in Indonesia have not yet cultivated coconut plants based on Good Agriculture Practice (GAP). GAP-based coconut cultivation has not been optimally implemented because farmers have not been able to select and select seeds, seed nurseries, nurseries, and how to maintain coconut plants. Gumukmas District is one of the areas with low coconut production compared to other areas in Jember Regency. The lack of knowledge and skills of partners is due to the low level of education among partner members. The solution to solving partner problems is to provide information and knowledge to partners. The activity stages include coordination of activity plans, Go Desa and Course Day, as well as evaluation and monitoring. The results of the implementation of community service activities are that partner knowledge regarding Oryctes rhinoceros pest control has increased. This can be seen from the question and answer session and the results of the partner's pretest and posttest during the community service. The final result of this community service is that partners have strong motivation to carry out GAP-based O. rhinoceros pest control. Keywords: coconut; control; knowledge; production.
