Abstract

This study aims to improve the students speaking‟ ability through storyboard as transmedia. This research used true-experimental research. It consisted of three steps, they were pre-test, treatment, and post-test. There were 64 students of MAN 4 Bone involved in this research. The test was an oral test which consisted of three pictures for pre-test and post-test.The findings indicated that using storyboard as transmedia is significant in improving students‟ speaking ability. This was proven by the mean score of Pre- Test and Post-Test between experimental group and control group. The mean score of experimental before and after treatment (45.48 became 73.06) and in control group before and after treatment (45.45 became 63.93) with percentage improvement of experimental group (60%) and control group (40%). Moreover, the findings revealed that P-value score was (0.000) with the level significance 5% (0.05). It can conclude that p-value (0.000) < sig α = (0.05,5%). Thus, it proved that using Storyboard as transmedia Improve Students‟ Speaking Ability of 11th Grade MAN 4 Bone.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of students' speaking skills by using British Movies as a medium to improve students' speaking skills in terms of pronunciation. This study uses pre-experimental research with one class pre-test and post-test. The researcher used a purposive sampling technique. The sample of this study was the science students of SMA Muhammadiyah Sungguminasa for the academic year 2021/2022, totaling 8 students. The researcher used pictures as an instrument in the Pre-test and Post-test.students' pronunciation issues when speaking can be minimized using English films as evidenced by the results found, that the main score of students' pronunciation is 0.15 which is bad, the post-test 0.23 is sufficient and the increase from pre-test to post-test is 49, %.The results of the increase are also proven by the value of the t-test. The researcher found that the t-test was lower than the t-table, pronunciation (1.87 < 1.891). it means that there is no significant increase, but there is an increase of about 49%. In other words, the use of British Movies can improve students' speaking skills in terms of pronunciation in Class XI SMA Muhammadiyah Sungguminasa.

Abstract

This research aims to know the Students' integration of CALL and factors influence their integration of CALL in English Department of Muhammadiyah University of Makassar. This research was conducted in descriptive qualitative method. The data collected by interview. The sample of this research was students who already PPL (Teaching practice program) This research used Snowball Sampling because just only took 5 samples who speak well and understand about CALL  to be interviewed.The main findings of the study illustrated that most of students have positive attitudes towards using Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in teaching learning process, the students enjoyable and had interesting teaching experience. using Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) enriches students' knowledge and information, (CALL), provides students with fresh and up-dated information, (CALL), plays an important role in developing students' academic skills

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out whether the use of feature writing of Google Classroom is effective in improving students' writing ability for narrative text. the method in this research usage Quasi -experimental research which used two classes.This research method was used to process data using quantitative SPSS obtained from the results of the pre-test and post-test of the two sample classes. The participants in this study were students of Class X IPS at SMAN 6 BONE. Purposive sampling is used by the current researcher. The results of the study reveal that, it can be said that the use of writing features in the google classroom application can be used effectively to teach the competence of class X IPS students at SMAN 6 Bone.

Abstract

This study used the Post Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) method to assess and find out perceptions based on their experiences in using online conferencing tools, especially ELT during the covid19 pandemic at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. The participants in this study were students of English education at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar, students of the English education department. Purposive sampling is used by the current researcher. Research activities will be carried out through the stages of evaluating which classes in 2019 are very intense using Zoom as an ELT learning media, then distributing questionnaires to students as respondents, and finally analyzing the scores obtained and drawing conclusions regarding the use of Zoom as an ELT learning media at Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar during the covid19 pandemic. The Post Study System Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) method is used to assess a system or find out the extent of user experience in order to get an overall impression of the experience of users or end users of a system. The rule in the PSSUQ score is that the lower the score obtained from the results of the questionnaire, the better the system will be.

Abstract

The main problem in this research was to find out two research objectives, are to find out the implementation of writing descriptive text using the Google Docs Applications, and to find out the students' perceptions of implementing Google Docs in students' descriptive text on collaborative writing in SMP 13 Makassar. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The participant of this study was a 7th-grade level who used the Google Docs application as collaborative learning to write a descriptive text. The data in this study was collected through checklist observations and questionnaires. Based on research, this study shows how students use Google Docs to create descriptive text. Authors exchange accounts with their partners for reading and editing. The study also revealed that the study had a beneficial effect on students' answers. The final, students can afford and like to use this learning tool well. This shows that using Google Docs for group writing in the descriptive text is successful.

Abstract

This thesis aims at finding out whether or not the use of Electronic U-Dictionary effective to improve non English students’ vocabulary mastery. This research is pre-experimental research with pre-test and post-test design. The pretest was given before giving treatment and the posttest was given after giving treatment. The population of the research was the fourth semester students of PGSD Study Program in Muhammadiyah University of Makassar academic year 2022-2023. There are thirteen classes where each class consist of 25 students, so the sum of the population is 325. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The researcher used one class as the sample which contained 25 students. To get the data, the researcher used vocabulary test as the instrument. The data were then analyzed by using SPSS. The results of the statistical analysis shows that the mean score of the pre-test is 53,5 and post-test is 81,6. The result of P=0.00 while α=0.05. it could be that α is higher than P with degree of freedom (df) = 25-1 = 24. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) rejected. Based on analysis of the result, it could be summed up that the use of Electronic U-Dictionary is effective in teaching vocabulary.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the "English Vocabulary" mobile application in enhancing vocabulary mastery among students at SMKN 1 Polewali. In response to the increasing integration of technology in language education, this research addresses the urgent need to evaluate digital tools for vocabulary acquisition. Employing a pre-experimental quantitative design, data were collected through pre- and post-tests administered before and after treatment using the application. The findings revealed a substantial increase in student performance, with mean scores rising from 43.33 to 74.81. Statistical analyses confirmed normal data distribution and homogeneity, and the paired sample t-test indicated a significant improvement (Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000 < 0.05). These results confirm the application’s positive impact on vocabulary development. The study contributes to the field by providing empirical evidence supporting the effectiveness of mobile-assisted vocabulary learning and recommends the integration of such applications in formal education to enhance learners' lexical competence.
