Abstract

This research aims to determine the development of Muhammadiyah in building religious moderation in Karo Regency, North Sumatra. The aim of this research is to find out the extent to which Muhammadiyah residents understand Religious Moderation and the views of Muhammadiyah Karo Regency regarding Religious Moderation. This research method uses a qualitative approach. By using data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this research were the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of Karo Regency, the Muhammadiyah Autonomous Organization, and Sympathizers. The results of the research show that Religious Moderation does not understand Muhammadiyah residents due to a lack of knowledge except for Muhammadiyah Regional Leaders or Ortoms in Karo Regency. The Muhammadiyah community and sympathizers think that they don't know what Religious Moderation is, but in carrying out social activities they respect each other's differences as long as they don't violate Islamic rules.

Abstract

The background of this research is that a mosque is a house of worship for Muslims or Muslims. Mosque means a place of prostration, other names related to mosques in Indonesia are musholah, langgar or surau. The term is intended for buildings resembling mosques that are not used for Friday prayers, iktikaf, and are generally small in size. Besides being used as a place of worship, the mosque is also the center of the life of the Muslim community. Holiday celebrations, discussions, religious studies, lectures and Al-Qur'an study are often held in mosques. The purpose of this study was to find out how the contribution of the BKM Bakrie Grand Mosque in Kisaran City, Asahan Regency in fostering the diversity of the people of Kisaran City and how the response from the surrounding community was regarding the activities carried out by the BKM Bakrie Grand Mosque. This type of research uses field research, namely research that is directly carried out in the field or on respondents. This study uses a qualitative method with a Social Theology approach. The results of the study show that the management of the mosque is going well, judging from the planning that has been done. Organizing in BKM Masjid includes the areas of Imarah, Ri'ayah and so on. The Bakrie Great Mosque BKM also highly upholds the value of diversity, the Bakrie Great Mosque BKM instills the values of diversity in the community, to maintain that diversity the BKM maintains tolerance or maintains inter-religious harmony because to avoid inter-religious conflict caused by an attitude of feeling right in religion but still according to Muslims Islam is the true religion

Abstract

This study aims to find out how social religious urgency is in the views of Islam and Christianity and find out how social religious similarities and differences in the views of Islam and Christianity. In this study, researchers used a type of library research (library research). This research uses the Sociology of Religion approach method. The sociology of religion approach is an approach that discusses one of the social phenomena, namely religion as a social manifestation. The results of this study are that social religion is an act based on awareness or a tendency to pay attention to the public interest in accordance with religious rules. In Islam, social religious pressure is very important to build a good relationship between individuals with God and fellow human beings. Meanwhile, in the Christian view, social religion also emphasizes the importance of the individual's relationship with God and fellow human beings. Christianity prohibits that love is the main principle in living a social-religious life. Mukti Ali's views on social religion in Islam emphasize the values of solidarity, social justice, social responsibility, and interfaith dialogue. He described the importance of the active role of Muslims in society to create a better and harmonious life based on Islamic teachings.

Abstract

The aim of this research in general is to obtain a bachelor's degree (S1) in the Study of Religions study program and as additional reference material for future research. This type of research is library research, namely research carried out by collecting data and information in various ways such as reviewing several books, articles, magazines and so on. This research also uses a phenomenological approach. The phenomenological approach is the study of a person's life experiences or methods for how individuals subjectively perceive experiences and provide meaning to these phenomena. And this research also uses a comparative method, which means this research compares the situation of one or more variables. The results of this research, according to Paguyuban Sumarah and Pangestu, created humans based on four elements: fire, water, earth and air. However, in contrast to Islam, humans are created from the essence of the earth which is formed as well as possible and then the spirit is breathed into them.

Abstract

The problem studied in this research is the existence of the culture of offerings, the views and meaning of offerings for the people of Bantan Hamlet in traditional Javanese weddings among the people of Bantan Hamlet, Torgamba District, South Labuhan Batu Regency. From this problem formulation, there is a sub-discussion in it, including a discussion of the opinions of traditional leaders, religious leaders and the community regarding the culture of offerings in Bantan Hamlet. In this research, researchers used qualitative research with a field research design with data collection through observation, documentation and interviews. Meanwhile, the theory used in this research is phenomenology. From the results of this research, it was found that the existence of Javanese traditional wedding offering culture has existed for a long time and this culture has been passed down from the ancestors and passed down to the current generation. The meaning of offerings is thanksgiving for providing smoothness or repelling bad luck in carrying out the wedding ceremony. As well as a form of respect or gift to those who have contributed to the wedding event.

Abstract

This research aims to find out what is meant by brotherhood and find out the agreements and differences in the concept of brotherhood in the views of Islam and Buddhism. This research method uses library research. Library research is a type of research conducted by reading books or magazines and other data sources to collect data from various literature, both libraries and other places. This researcher uses the Sociology of Religion approach. The sociology of religion approach is an approach that discusses one of the social phenomena, namely religion as a social manifestation. The results of this research show that brotherhood in Islam shows a way that can be taken to build communication on the one hand, and on the other hand, it also gives new enthusiasm to simultaneously carry out teachings in accordance with the instructions of the Qur'an and the examples of the Prophets and Messengers - His. Brotherhood in Buddhism is part of the happiness of life. Loving-kindness or brotherhood is the wish for the happiness of all beings without exception, which is often said to be a pure intention to wish the welfare and happiness of other beings. Brotherhood is the most important part of human life. Fraternity gives rise to positive enthusiasm and motivation, even though in reality not always in the name of brotherhood human life will run in an orderly, good and harmonious way. As major world religions, Islam and Buddhism have their own unique teachings, believed by their adherents on the basis of faith. Universal Islamic teachings and tolerant Buddhist teachings are standard forms that cannot be compared.

Abstract

Bullying or harassment is an act committed by a person or group of people using intense and repetitive words or actions towards another person or group of people, causing pressure or depression. Violence in education is behavior that goes beyond the boundaries of the moral code and the educational code, both in physical form and in the form of human rights harassment. Bullying of others, especially behavior that occurs in educational settings, is a concern for many groups. In this study, researchers wanted to learn more about bullying, its impact, and the factors behind bullying at SMP An Namiroh Pekanbaru. And also know the parenting style of parents in building the character of their children. This study used a qualitative method to understand the types of harassment occurring at SMP An Namiroh Pekanabaru. The purpose of this study was done because bullying is common from year to year, so parenting style influences a child's personality. The result of this study is that families whose parents can be thought of as having a role in preventing bullying behavior in adolescents by SMP An Namiroh Pekanbaru, was carried out by applying parenting models. teaching children, communicating with children, being close to children and by communicating. closely with the school so that they can manage children in a kind and non-threatening manner.

Abstract

Christians in the Village of Sei Sikambing B Medan. Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. Social interaction during adolescence is very important, because there are many developmental prerequisites that must be met during this period, namely physical development, psychological development, and especially social development. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The phenomenological approach is related to the understanding of everyday life and the intersubjective world (life world) of participants. Phenomenological research tries to explain or reveal the meaning of concepts or phenomena based on the awareness of experiences that occur in several individuals. In this research the instruments used are observation, interviews and documentation. Then the data were analyzed with qualitative research analysis. The results of the study show that the form of social interaction between Muslim and Christian adolescents leads to an associative process characterized by positive forms of social interaction that lead to a state of harmony and social unity.

Abstract

The problem raised in this research is how religious tolerance is found in the interpretation of the QS. Al-Mumlahanah 8-9 according to Muhammad Mutawalli as-Sya'rawy's typology in as-Sya'rawy's interpretation. The aim of this research is to find out how religious tolerance is in QS. Al-Mumlahanah 8-9 As-Sya'rawy's perspective and knowing the typology of religion adopted by Muhammad Mutawalli As-Sya'rawy in the interpretation of the QS. Al-Mumlahanah 8-9 regarding religious tolerance. This type of research is qualitative with a library research method by collecting various literature related to the object of discussion being studied and then analyzing it using tahlili interpretation analysis tools. Sources of data in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. From this study it was found that religious tolerance from the as-Sya'rawy perspective in QS. al-Mumtahanah 8-9 namely, first, there is no prohibition to do good to fellow human beings, even though they have different religions. Second, the ability to give to each other even though they have different religions. Third, it is permissible to please the hearts of fellow religious adherents. Fourth, the ability to lighten one another's burdens even though they are of different religions and to maintain the dignity and worth of one another. Fifth, maintain an attitude of tolerance as long as you don't fight, make enemies or expel you from your hometown and are prohibited from collaborating with groups that behave like that. Meanwhile, the religious typology adopted by as-Sya'rawy in interpreting QS. Al-Mumlahanah 8-9 is a typology of pluralism. This pluralist typology is a religious view that is suitable for people who live amidst diversity, such as as-Sya'rawy, who also lives in a multicultural environment consisting of various religions and races in Egypt.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to understand and analyse the symbolic meaning of the ornaments in the Mahabharata Maitreya Temple as well as the role of these ornements in conveying the teachings and values of Buddhism. Maha Vihara Maitreya is located in the city of Medan, Indonesia. It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Indonesia and has a variety of architectural and decorative elements that are rich in symbolic significance. Maha Vihara Maitreya also adopted many of the characteristic elements of China in every detail of the building and its ornaments. The research uses a qualitative approach with case study methods that include field observations, in-depth interviews with one of Vihara's managers and related literature analysis. The results showed that every element in the Majesty Maitreya, from the architecture of the building to the ornaments on the sculpture, had a profound symbolic significance and served as a medium for the transmission of Buddhist teachings to its followers. In addition, the temple also played an important role in strengthening the Buddhist identity of the field and its surroundings, as well as becoming a centre of religious and cultural activity. This research has made important contributions to the understanding of symbolism in Buddhist religious architecture and its implications for religious practice and identity of communities, in the city of Medan, North Sumatra.
