Abstract

Patient’s chief complaint: A 66-year-old female patient referred to the Hasanuddin University Dental Hospital with a fractured lower denture that impaired patient’s chewing ability. Patient’s oral status: Complete edentulous in maxilla and mandible with flat mandibular ridge. Clinical examination showed absence of inflammation and flabby tissues also absence of bone prominences. Treatment plan: Complete denture fabrication with semi-adjustable articulator and modification in impression technique to produce retentive denture. Details of the therapy: Preliminary impression and fabrication of anatomic cast followed by bolder molding and physiological impression. Two Dots method was used to determine the maxillomandibular relation and measure vertical dimension. Position of the maxilla was transferred using facebow which attached to the centric tray followed by mounting the cast on semi-adjustable articulator with guidance from centric tray. Artificial teeth were arranged in lingualized occlusal scheme on waxpattern and try-in was done. After processing denture, remounting and selective grinding were done including finishing and polishing, followed by insertion of denture. Summary: Impression technique is one of primary factors in management of flat mandibular ridge to utilize surrounding tissues to have both active and passive retention in dentures.

Abstract

Gempa bumi merupakan kejadian alam yang tidak diketahui kapan akan terjadi dan seberapa besarnya. Korban jiwa akibat gempa biasanya tidak diakibatkan oleh gempa itu secara langsung, melainkan diakibatkan oleh bangunan yang runtuh ketika gempa. Oleh karena itu bangunan gedung memerlukan ketahanan terhadap gempa bumi untuk memberikan waktu agar penghuni gedung dapat melakukan evakuasi diri dari gedung tersebut. Objek penelitian ini adalah Bangunan Gedung Lab UPTD BPPPL DLHK Aceh yang merupakan gedung dinas lingkugan hidup dan kehutanan aceh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui keamanan struktur bangunan gedung dengan analisis response spectrum yang ditinjau berdasarkan displacement, simpangan antar lantai, dan Gaya geser dasar dalam merespon gaya gempa, berdasarkan data rekaman gempa Pidie Jaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode response spectrum dengan menggunakan software ETABS Versi Student. Pengolahan data akan di analisis dengan menggunakan standar SNI 1726-2019. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa waktu getar alami fundamental struktur gedung memenuhi batas kontrol waktu getar alami yaitu sebesar 0,6380 detik. Nilai base shear yang didapat dari perhitungan yaitu untuk arah X sebesar 886,60 kN dan arah Y sebesar 856,80 kN. Nilai displacement arah x dan y menunjukkan displacement terbesar terjadi pada atap (elevasi 12,6 m) dengan jarak 12,313 mm untuk arah x sedangkan arah y terjadi pada atap (elevasi 12.6 m) dengan jarak 9,101 mm. Nilai batasan simpangan antar lantai pada elevasi 12,6 m sebesar 16,545 mm arah X dan 9,747 mm arah Y, sedangkan drift limit adalah 84 mm. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan hasil simpangan antar lantai arah X dan arah Y memenuhi peraturan SNI 1726-2019.Kata kunci: Analisis Dinamik; Displacement; Gempa Bumi; Response Spectrum; SNI;

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru Bimbingan Konseling dalam menggunakan Alat Ungkap Masalah (AUM) sebagai instrumen analisis kebutuhan di Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah. Dalam konteks kegiatan, fokus diberikan pada Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah sebagai unit analisis. Melibatkan seluruh guru bimbingan dan konseling, atau total 7 peserta di Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah, kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode ABCD (Asset, Building, Connecting, Development) yang mencakup identifikasi aset, peningkatan kapasitas, pembangunan jaringan, dan pembangunan berkelanjutan, dilaksanakan pada tanggal 13 Desember 2023. Teknik bimbingan interaktif dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) digunakan untuk memberikan pemahaman mendalam tentang AUM, sementara observasi praktek dilakukan untuk mensimulasikan penggunaan AUM secara efektif. Analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji t-statistik menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata total pemahaman guru dari 35.86 menjadi 45.86 setelah kegiatan, dengan selisih post-pre yang signifikan secara statistik. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan pemahaman peserta yang memadai, namun setelah bimbingan teknis, terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan, pengalaman, dan kesiapan peserta. Kontribusi kegiatan pengabdian ini terlihat pada perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan, mendukung literatur dan praktik bimbingan konseling di Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan teknis AUM efektif meningkatkan kualitas layanan bimbingan konseling dan penggunaan AUM sebagai alat yang lebih efektif di sekolah. Implikasi praktisnya mencakup peningkatan kualitas layanan bimbingan konseling di Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu Ukhuwah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan mengingat dan melafalkan kata bahasa Inggris. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya penggunaan model dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dan pembelajaran yang diberikan kurang menarik sehingga anak cepat bosan. Upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan Model Problem based learning, Metode Bernyanyi dan Media flashcard. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru, aktivitas anak, dan menganalisis hasil kemampuan bahasa anak. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas, dilaksanakan dalam 3 kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara serta penilaian kemampuan bahasa. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru pada pertemuan 1 sampai 3 mengalami peningkatan dari 81% meningkat menjadi 100%. Aktivitas anak pertemuan 1 sampai 3 mendapat 62,25% meningkat hingga 87,5%. Hasil perkembangan bahasa pertemuan 1 sampai 3 mendapat skor 72% meningkat hingga 100%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan Model PBL dengan Media flashcard dapat mengembangkan aktivitas dan hasil kemampauan bahasa anak dengan sangat baik dan seluruh anak aktif.

Abstract

The importance of investing in the pedagogical skills development of teachers in educational institutions, especially in the Sekolah Polisi Negera Polisi Daerah Kalimantan Selatan, demonstrates a commitment to improving the quality of police education. Service activities are carried out through training in learning strategies for 75 Sekolah Polisi Negara teachers, focusing on improving teaching skills, student motivation, and teacher-student interactions. The results show a significant increase in support for cognitive and metacognitive strategies after training. The importance of these results lies in creating a more effective learning environment and higher student motivation at Sekolah Polisi Negara. The results of the learning strategy training for teachers at Sekolah Polisi Negara show a positive impact on improving the quality of police education, emphasizing the importance of investing in the pedagogical skills development of teachers to create a better learning environment.Pentingnya investasi dalam pengembangan kemampuan pedagogik guru di lembaga pendidikan, terutama di Sekolah Polisi Negara Polisi Daerah Kalimantan Selatan, menunjukkan komitmen untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan kepolisian. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan melalui pelatihan strategi pembelajaran untuk 75 guru SPN, dengan fokus pada peningkatan keterampilan mengajar, motivasi siswa, dan interaksi guru-siswa. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam dukungan terhadap strategi kognitif dan metakognitif setelah pelatihan. Pentingnya hasil ini terletak pada penciptaan lingkungan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan motivasi siswa yang lebih tinggi di SPN. Hasil pelatihan strategi pembelajaran bagi guru di SPN menunjukkan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan kepolisian, menegaskan pentingnya investasi dalam pengembangan kemampuan pedagogik guru untuk menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang lebih baik.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to describe teacher activities, children's skills, and children's developmental outcomes in imitating shapes. This research approach uses qualitative with the type of classroom action research, carried out in 4 meetings, the research setting is on the B1 group of children of Bakti 1 Islamic Kindergarten Banjarmasin which amounted to 14 children (9 boys and 5 girls). The data collection technique uses observation. The results of the study showed that (1) the teacher's activity at the 1st meeting received a score of 20 in the "Good" category and continued to increase until the 4th meeting received a score of 27 in the "Very Good" category. (2) Children's Skills in the 1st meeting got a percentage of 0% in the category "No Skilled Children" and continued to increase until the 4th meeting with a percentage of 100% in the category "All Active Children". (3) The results of the development of the ability to imitate shapes at the 1st meeting were 0% and continued to increase at the 4th meeting the score of 100% all children succeeded in developing in the category of "Developing as Expected (BSH), and Developing Very Well (BSB)". Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that  the Project Based Learning, Explicit Instruction and Media Flanel models can develop skills, and the results of the development of the ability to imitate children's shapes very well and all children are active

Abstract

Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) is an important religious competition for the Muslim community in Indonesia. However, many participants face challenges in fostering optimal achievement motivation. Observations in Tapin Regency revealed that inadequate psychological support is a major factor affecting participants' motivation. This community service activity aims to enhance the achievement motivation of MTQ participants through psychological training. The training was conducted on April 6, 2024, with 60 participants, using a workshop method that included stress management techniques, confidence building, and motivational strategies. The results were measured using pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and analysed with descriptive statistics and paired t-tests. The analysis showed a significant increase in participants' motivation and confidence, with an average increase of 15 points. A total of 75% of participants experienced a significant increase in motivation, 16.67% experienced a moderate increase, and 8.33% showed no significant change. The psychological training proved effective in enhancing the achievement motivation of MTQ participants in Tapin Regency. These results are expected to help participants achieve better performance in MTQ competitions.

Abstract

To optimally carry out their developmental tasks during the Covid-19 Pandemic, which affects psychosocial and mental health, teenagers require mentoring. One of those accompaniments may come from their peers. This study observes the way teenagers being peer-counselors during the Covid-19 pandemic. This quantitative research uses a descriptive survey design. Meanwhile, its populations were all participants of peer counseling training webinars conducted by the Centre of Guidance and Counselling Service of Lambung Mangkurat University. The 126 samples were selected using a random sampling technique live in South Borneo. The results convey that 32 percent, 78 percent, and 58 percent of teenagers actively being peer-counselors at the age of 16 years, at the high school age, and when the pandemic started, respectively. A 40 percent of teenagers explain that they choose to be peer counselors because they like to help their friends, 53 percent of them feel to have a superior personality that supports them to be peer counselors, while 27 percent of them contemplate on things they can suggest to help their friends as peer counselors. Additionally, 54 percent of teenagers wish to attain peer counselors' skills that can command the counselees' thoughts. Thus, teenagers have given relatively significant contributions as peer counselors during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of role-playing-based counseling services in enhancing empathy among children at Juvenile Rehabilitation Center Class I Martapura. Employing a quantitative approach, the research utilized a one-group pre-test post-test experimental design to measure changes in empathy levels before and after the intervention. A total of 32 children participated in the study. Data were collected using two instruments: the Empathy Scale and the Role-Playing Engagement Questionnaire. The intervention consisted of structured role-playing sessions designed to improve both cognitive and affective components of empathy. Data analysis using paired sample t-tests revealed a statistically significant increase in empathy scores, with the mean score rising from 151.53 to 157.34 (p < 0.05). These results suggest that role-playing shows promise as an effective method for enhancing empathy in juvenile rehabilitation settings. The findings underscore the potential of integrating experiential learning strategies into psychosocial interventions for institutionalized youth. Further research is recommended to examine contextual and individual factors that may influence the impact of such interventions.

Abstract

The problem in this research is how to contribute each variable to the resilience of working and whether the two variables of optimism and social support together will contribute to the resilience of working on the thesis. This study aims to analyze the contribution of optimism and social support to the resilience of working on a thesis for the 2016-2017 Faculty of Educational Sciences Students, FKIP ULM. This study uses a quantitative approach with the type of contribution research. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire with a purposive random sampling technique. This research was conducted on students of the Department of Education, FKIP ULM, Class of 2016-2017. The population in this study found 1,307 people, and a sample was obtained using an error rate of 1%, namely 440 students. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics, simple linear regression, and multiple linear regression. The results showed that there was a positive and significant effect; this means that there is a positive influence made by optimism and social support on the resilience of working on the thesis can be given in this study and so it is possible, valid, and generalized to the population of optimism and social support for resilience. working on a thesis for students of the Department of Education, FKIP ULM. The contribution of optimism and social support to the resilience of doing the thesis is 8.2%.
