Abstract

Berbagai permasalahan bermunculan menimpa perkebunan kakao, terbukti dari naik-turun maupun stagnansi pada tingkat produksi. Pemerintah bergerak untuk memecahkan kemerosotan produksi kakao dengan mengeluarkan kebijakan Gerakan Nasional Peningkatan Produksi dan Mutu Kakao (Gernas Kakao) yang dimulai sejak tahun 2009. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh Gerakan Nasional Kakao terhadap peningkatan taraf hidup petani kakao di Kabupaten Mamasa, Provinsi Sulawesi Barat melalui penghitungan penghasilan para petani kakao sebelum dan setelah dilaksanakannya Gernas Kakao. Metode pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara dan kuesioner. Analisis kuantitatif digunakan untuk membandingkan dan mengolah data. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Program Gernas Kakao telah berhasil meningkatkan jumlah produksi kakao dan pendapatan para petani. Hasil B/C rasio kegiatan pada Program Gernas Kakao meliputi Peremajaan, Rehabilitasi dan intensifikasi menunjukkan angka >1 artinya Program Gernas Kakao layak untuk diterapkan dan dilanjutkan untuk meningkatkan kuantitas dan kualitas kakao. Dukungan, kerja sama dan sinergi dalam Program Gernas Kakao sangat diperlukan antara semua pemangku kepentingan untuk mencapai pemberdayaan petani kakao.

Abstract

Seaweed or known as macroalgae, is one of the marine commodities with valuable economic potential for domestic and foreign markets. West Kalimantan, especially on Lemukutan Island, is one of the cultivation centers for Eucheuma cottoni and E.spinosum. The use of seaweed as a functional food in various kinds of preparations has not been implemented optimally. This PKM activity aims to socialize the use and consumption of seaweed and diversify its processing in an effort to improve the immune system, especially during the Covid19 pandemic. A total of 256 participants stated that they were ready to attend the webinar, which was delivered in an online form distributed by the organizing committee. Socialization activities are carried out online with the material presented related to seaweed and its various preparations and its function as food in improving health status through repair, restoration, or enhancement of the immune system, so it is very important to socialize consumption and utilize this food as a defense agent for the body during pandemic Covid19 or after. The results of the evaluation of PKM activities through the pretest and posttest shows that the participants' knowledge regarding the material presented has increased from 40-50% to 80-90%, for that it is still expected that there will be similar activities with a wider target object in West Kalimantan which can improve the welfare of society in general. Abstrak Rumput laut atau dikenal sebagai makroalga merupakan salah satu komoditas perairan laut yang memiliki potensi ekonomi yang sangat bernilai baik untuk pasaran domestic maupun pasaran mancanegara. Kalimantan Barat khususnya Pulau Lemukutan merupakan salah satu sentra budidaya Eucheuma cottoni dan E.spinosum. Pemanfaatan rumput laut ini sebagai pangan fungsional dalam berbagai macam olahan belum dilaksanakan secara optimal. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk memasyarakatkan pemanfaatan dan konsumsi rumput laut serta diversifikasi olahannya dalam usaha untuk meningkatkan system kekebalan tubuh terutama di masa pandemic Covid19. Sebanyak 256 peserta menyatakan siap hadir di acara webinar yang disampaikan dalam form online yang dibagikan oleh panitia pelaksana kegiatan. Kegiatan sosialisasi dilakukan secara online dengan materi yang disampaikan terkait rumput laut dan aneka olahannya serta fungsinya sebagai bahan pangan dalam meningkatkan derajat kesehatan melalui perbaikan, pemulihan atau peningkatan system kekebalan tubuh, sehingga sangat penting untuk mensosialisasikan konsumsi dan memanfaatkan pangan ini sebagai agen pertahanan tubuh dalam masa pandemic Covid19. Dari hasil evaluasi kegiatan PKM ini melalui pretest dan post test menunjukkan pengetahuan peserta terkait materi yang disampaikan mengalami peningkatan dari 40-50% menjadi 80-90%, untuk itu masih diharapkan adanya kegiatan-kegiatan serupa dengan obyek sasaran yang lebih luas dalam wilayah Kalimantan Barat yang dapat meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat pada umumnya.

Abstract

Kurrak Village, Polewali Mandar Regency is a coffee-producing village that has the opportunity to develop an organic coffee agro-industry to support the realization of a green economy, namely a program to improve the Indonesian economy by focusing on environmentally sound activities. Some of the problems faced by coffee farming communities in the region include how to harvest and handle post-harvest coffee. The purpose of this community service program (PKM) is to improve the ability of the Kurrak village coffee farming community in post-harvest processing and to increase the role of micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) in establishing partnerships with coffee farmers. The method of implementing the activity is by counseling and practice with several stages including preparation, implementation and evaluation of the program. The PKM activity was carried out in a coffee plantation for residents in Kurrak village, attended by 25 representatives of the Kurrak village community. The results of the PKM activities showed that the activity participants had the ability to apply post-harvest coffee processing techniques, the enthusiasm and motivation of the farmer members increased and they began to activate the collaboration of MSMEs and coffee farmers in Kurrak village.

Abstract

Kebutuhan pangan semakin meningkat seiring dengan pertambahan penduduk, di sisi lain lahan pertanian makin menciut karena adanya konversi lahan dan dampak dari perubahan iklim. Produktivitas pangan yang cenderung stagnan menjadi masalah dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan masyarakat  Indonesia, terutama dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional, yaitu suatu usaha pemerintah yang bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan melalui ketersediaan dan pengolahan dari sumber daya lokal. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah mengkaji tentang foodhabits (kebiasaan konsumsi pangan) dari masyarakat Pesisir Desa Nibung untuk dijadikan database atau model foodhabits dalam usaha peningkatan ketahanan pangan lokal Masyarakat pesisir, sebagai daya dukung dalam mewujudkan ketahanan pangan nasional. Kegiatan dilakukan selama 2 bulan, menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan memberikan gambaran terkait pola dan kebiasaan konsumsi pangan tersebut, melalui observasi dan informasi langsung dengan masyarakat setempat. Data ini bisa menjadi dasar dalam usaha peningkatan ketahanan pangan masyarakat pesisir, melalui usaha pengadaan sumber pangan yang berkelanjutan berdasarkan foodhabits masyarakat pesisir tersebut, sertanya adanya kemampuan adaptasi masyarakat terhadap ketersediaan sumber pangan dalam kondisi apapun. Food Habits Patterns in Fisherman's Families on the Coast to Support Food Security Abstract Food needs are increasing along with population growth, on the other hand, agricultural land is shrinking due to land conversion and the impact of climate change. Food productivity which tends to be stagnant is a problem in meeting the needs of the Indonesian people, especially in realizing national food security, which is a government effort that aims to meet the needs of the community in a sustainable manner through the availability and processing of local resources. The aim of this activity is to study the food habits (food consumption habits) of the Nibung Village Coastal Community to be used as a database or food habit model in an effort to increase local food security in coastal communities, as a supporting capacity in realizing national food security. Activities were carried out for 2 months, using a qualitative descriptive method by providing an overview of food consumption patterns and habits, through direct observation and information with the local community. This data can be the basis for efforts to increase the food security of coastal communities, through efforts to procure sustainable food sources based on the coastal communities' food habits, as well as the community's ability to adapt to the availability of food sources in any condition.

Abstract

Bonus demografi adalah kondisi di mana jumlah kelompok usia produktif jauh lebih besar dibandingkan usia non produktif, baik usia muda maupun manula. Kondisi ini dapat menjadi berpotensi menjadi masalah besar jika tidak dikelola dengan baik, terutama dengan munculnya kecerdasan buatan yang dapat mengurangi kebutuhan tenaga kerja untuk industri atau institusi pemerintah. Menyikapi hal tersebut, sangat penting untuk menanamkan atau menumbuhkan jiwa, sikap dan nilai kewirausahaah sejak dini. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah untuk memberikan pemahaman kewirausahaan sejak dini kepada mahasiswa program studi Ilmu Kelautan Universitas Tanjungpura,  yang berorientasi pada wirausaha produk dan jasa kelautan (maritime preneur). Kegiatan diikuti oleh 40 peserta yaitu perwakilan mahasiswa dari setiap angkatan, dan kegiatan dilaksanakan berdasarkan metode ceramah dan diskusi interaktif. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi menunjukkan kegiatan sudah berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman mahasiswa terkait dengan wirausaha berbasis jasa dan produk kelautan. Developing Maritimepreneur Spirit, Attitudes and Values ??for Marine Science Study Program Students The demographic bonus is a condition where the number of the productive age group is much greater than the non-productive age group, both young and elderly. This condition can potentially become a big problem if not managed well, especially with the emergence of artificial intelligence which can reduce labor requirements for industry or government institutions. In response to this, it is very important to instill or foster an entrepreneurial spirit, attitudes and values ??from an early age. The aim of this community service activity (PKM) is to provide an early understanding of entrepreneurship to students of the Tanjungpura University Marine Science study program, which focuses on maritime product and service entrepreneurship (maritime preneur). The activity was attended by 40 participants, namely student representatives from each class, and the activity was carried out based on interactive lecture and discussion methods. Based on the evaluation results, it shows that the activity has succeeded in increasing students' understanding abilities related to marine product and service-based entrepreneurship.

Abstract

In early 1990, Indonesia entered as the third-largest exporter in the world after Ivory Coast and Ghana. The number of cocoa farmers is estimated to be 1.4 million households, generally on a small scale, with an area of about two hectares of cocoa. The very high increase in cocoa prices during the economic crisis in the late 1990s contributed significantly to the poverty alleviation of cocoa farming communities, especially those in rural areas. Almost 20 percent of the national cocoa production comes from West Sulawesi Province. The Cocoa National Movement Program (Gernas) in West Sulawesi is a locomotive for community-based development as a holistic, integrated program involving stakeholders to increase productivity and quality and encourage the growth of the cocoa trade and industry. The Central Government subsequently carried it out formed the National Movement for the Improvement of Cocoa Production and Quality. The research showed that there had been a significant increase in cocoa productivity in Mamasa Regency, West Sulawesi, between before the National Movement Program and after its implementation through rejuvenetion, rehabilitation, and intensification programs. Rehabilitation activities are higher than those of rejuvenation and intensification. Rejuvenation increased cocoa production from 342.68 kg.ha–1.year–1 in 2008 to 605.05 kg.ha–1.year–1. Rehabilitation increased cocoa productivity from 332.47 kg.ha–1.year–1 in 2008 to 720.98 kg.ha–1.year–1 and intensification increased cocoa productictivity from 328.27 kg.ha–1.year–1 in 2008 to 531.45 kg.ha–1.year–1 during the program implemented.

Abstract

The fluctuation of production levels, low innovation adoption rates, and low cocoa prices at the farm level are important problems in cocoa agribusiness that cannot be allowed to prolong, especially in production centers such as Bantaeng Regency, South Sulawesi Province. The purpose of this research is to provides strategic program recommendations as a reference for policymakers in designing cocoa agribusiness planning and development. This research used Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) analysis to be able to formulate a complex policy structure based on elements and formulate a hierarchy of relationships between elements. The results show that there are five key programs in planning and developing cocoa agribusiness in Bantaeng Regency, namely effectiveness of extension in the field, capacity building of extension workers, the establishment of farming partnerships with companies, the establishment of specialized cocoa development team, and guarantee of price stability. These key programs need to be assisted by supporting programs such as institutional development programs, effective coordination between institutions, effective technology transfer to farmers, provision of organic technology, providing rewards for farmers, providing access to capital, strengthening digital marketing, and improving cocoa quality through fermentation. Based on the interpretation of this research, stakeholders need to have an understanding of the priorities and synergy between programs to ensure the development of cocoa agribusiness that is right on target and in accordance with the needs and conditions currently faced.

Abstract

Eucheuma cottonii adalah salah satu komoditas rumput laut yang sangat potensial untuk diperdagangkan baik lokal ataupun ekspor, karena mengandung bahan hidrolkoloid yang sangat diperlukan dalam industri obat-obatan dan makanan sebagai bahan tambahan utama. Selain untuk keperluan industri, rumput laut jenis ini juga dapat dibuat aneka olahan makanan untuk konsumsi keluarga ataupun diperdagangkan dalam kemasan makanan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan warga desa nelayan rumput laut di daerah Bissappu dalam membuat dodol dan stik rumput laut. Metode kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah dan demonstrasi pengolahan rumput laut. Ceramah berisi materi yang  terkait dengan fungsi rumput laut dan aneka olahan yang dapat dibuat berbahan dasar rumput laut untuk konsumsi keluarga dan diperdagangkan. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 15 orang ibu rumah tangga yang juga berprofesi sebagai pembudidaya rumput laut. Dari hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pengolahan rumput laut menjadi dodol dan stik ini merupakan hal baru bagi mereka, sehingga hampir seluruh peserta bersemangat melakukan kegiatan tersebut, dan produk yang dihasilkan termasuk dalam kategori baik dan enak.Kata Kunci : Eucheuma cottonii, Bissappu, stik, dodol

Abstract

The unused land in Pamboborang village, Banggae district, Majene district is now developing into red garlic farmland. For more than five years, garlic farmers have not achieved independence in business and tend to rely on of this study was to analyze the level of response of garlic farmers to empowerment models and to identify empowering models that match the need to encourage farmers' self-reliance. The research was conducted in Pamboborang Village, Majene Regency. Respondents were selected purposefully as many as 30 farmers. The data analysis used was a Likert scale with a qualitative descriptive method. The results showed that the response parameters of farmers were divided into four namely perception, attitude, skills and motivation. The four parameters produce a moderate response. The empowerment model that has been received by farmers is the model of extension and the support of agricultural production facilities and infrastructure (charity), while the empowerment model that is urgently needed by farmers is training (87.5%) and sustainable assistance (68.96%). The research serves as the basis for a study to develop a community empowerment model that can be carried out by stakeholders to increase the capacity of farmers in realising farmer self-reliance and food self-sufficiency in Majene District.
