Abstract

Academic resilience has become an interesting topic of discussion as a result of the increase in academic burnout experienced by prospective counselors recently as a result of increasing academic assignments. Prospective counselors who experience academic burnout generally have poor academic resilience because they feel tired or bored with academic tasks while still studying, and this has an impact on the resulting performance. This research aims to determine the relationship between academic burnout and the academic resilience of prospective counselors. We used a quantitative research method, employing a correlation research design, to reveal the relationship between the two. The research sample involved 105 prospective counselor students in Indonesia taken using convenience sampling techniques. The research sample's data collection method employed a scale measuring academic burnout and academic resilience. The data was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment method. The research results show that academic resilience has a negative relationship with academic burnout. This means that the higher the academic resilience that a prospective counselor has, the lower the academic burnout they experience, and conversely, the lower the academic resilience of a prospective counselor, the lower the academic burnout.

Abstract

Guidance and counseling in elementary schools is an important foundation for the formation of students' identity towards optimal development. However, currently guidance and counseling is still limited to secondary school level, not yet reaching elementary school. Ideas for guidance and counseling in elementary schools at the cluster level have not been implemented optimally. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the importance of guidance and counseling in elementary schools to understand its existence in helping to overcome students' problems. This service method is carried out synchronously online and offline or face to face. Synchronous online implementation is to identify student problems in elementary schools, while offline or face-to-face implementation consists of providing instructions in the form of materials, modeling and exercises. The results of the service show that class teachers or subject teachers understand the importance of guidance and counseling in elementary schools, shown by an increase in pretest and posttest scores to 92% of teachers understand the need for guidance and counseling in elementary schools.

Abstract

Developing a scale of interpersonal communication for Muslim students in Indonesia is very important because of the unique cultural and religious context that these students live in. Effective interpersonal communication is essential to fostering a supportive educational environment, improving peer relationships, and improving students' overall well-being. Currently there are no published research findings that specifically discuss measuring interpersonal communication among Muslim students in Indonesia. Therefore, this research aims to develop a valid and reliable Muslim Student Interpersonal Communication Scale (MSICS). MSICS was developed based on five aspects: openness, empathy, supportiveness, positivity, and equality. Content validity was assessed by two psychometric experts, and the results were analyzed using an inter-rater agreement model. Construct validity involved 432 Muslim junior high school students in Yogyakarta City, Indonesia, and the data was analyzed using the Rasch model. The results of the interrater agreement model analysis show that there is agreement between two psychometric experts regarding the acceptability of the statement items in the MSICS. Furthermore, the Rasch model analysis shows that the MSICS appears as a valid and reliable instrument for assessing the level of interpersonal communication among Muslim students in junior high schools in Indonesia with a variance explained by measures value of 26,7% (>20%), which means good enough to describe the measured data, and the reliability value is 0,91, which means very good. The results of this research can be used by counselors or guidance and counseling teachers to use MSICS as an instrument to measure Muslim students' interpersonal communication.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the prevalence of bullying behavior often found in schools, which negatively impacts victims, particularly causing stress both in the short and long term. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine whether there is a significant relationship between stress due to bullying and learning outcomes. It employs a quantitative approach using a correlational method, involving 238 grade VIII students. From the population, a sample of 110 students who had experienced bullying was selected using a purposive sampling method. The instrument utilized to measure stress due to bullying was the bullying stress scale developed by the researcher, based on stress aspects according to Sarafino. To assess student learning outcomes, the researcher conducted a documentation study using student report cards. The research hypothesis was tested using Product Moment Correlation analysis. The results revealed a negative correlation coefficient of -0.325 between stress due to bullying and learning outcomes, with a significance value (sig.) of 0.001, which is smaller than the specified significance level. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between the level of stress experienced by students and the level of learning outcomes achieved, indicating that higher levels of stress are associated with lower learning outcomes. Future research could explore the efficacy of intervention programs aimed at reducing bullying-induced stress and improving learning outcomes among students.
