Abstract

The convenience of pedestrian paths is an essential aspect that needs to be studied in urban planning. Along with the increasing use of motorized vehicles, facilities for pedestrians must also be considered to minimize the acquisition of pedestrian space. Walkability is a concept that prioritizes safety, comfort, and being able to provide friendliness to its users. The provision of facilities on pedestrian paths is also one of the supporting aspects in realizing a green city because the green lanes found on pedestrian paths have benefits such as circulation, city aesthetic functions, and maintaining urban air quality. The government area of Sleman Regency is an integrated office area that has begun to improve the pedestrian path, including Parasamya Street. This study aims to examine the application of the walkability principle on Parasamya Street, Sleman Regency, as an effort to support the concept of a green city. The research method used is qualitative through observation, documentation, mapping, and interpreting the results descriptively by comparing the existing conditions with theories and regulations related to the concept of pedestrian paths and the concept of a green city. The results obtained from this study are that the application of the walkability principles on Parasamya Street can support the concept of a green city which is indicated by the fulfilment of infrastructure facilities, including ecological comfort. Things that need to be improved are an equal distribution of facilities for the disabled and the improvement of crossing facilities.

Abstract

Sragen Regency is one of the regencies experiencing regional development by facing challenges in infrastructure distribution. One of the manifestations of these challenges is the presence of slum areas, namely the Ngrampal slum. This study aims to determine the existing conditions and factors that influence the existence of Ngrampal slums in the perspective of sustainable settlements, using quantitative methods through a deductive approach. This research uses quantitative methods, with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires, and institutional surveys. The data analysis technique used was Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA). This research has resulted in new factor groups regarding the factors that influence the existence of slums in Ngrampal slums: 1) infrastructure factors and cultural preservation efforts and 2) spatial factors and environmental-social conditions of the community. With these results, attention to the maintenance, availability, and affordability of basic settlement infrastructure is one of the important steps to improve community welfare. In addition, development is also important to improve the environmental and social quality of the community.

Abstract

The Government of Timor-Leste’s decision to suspend doctoral programs has elicited varied responses from academics concerning their perception, participation, and acceptance of the policy. This study aims to analyze the influence of academics’ perception and participation on their acceptance of the doctoral program closure policy. Employing a quantitative approach, the research involved 257 academics from UNPAZ, selected through purposive and convenience sampling. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM to test direct and mediating effects among variables, complemented by non-parametric analyses (Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney, and logistic regression) to examine differences across demographic groups. The findings reveal that academics’ perception and participation simultaneously exert a significant effect on policy acceptability. Academics with higher education and greater academic engagement, such as lecturers and postgraduate students, demonstrated lower levels of acceptability compared to undergraduate students and administrative staff. Non-parametric results further confirmed significant differences based on age, educational level, and academic status. Overall, academics’ acceptability of the doctoral program closure policy is relatively low and influenced by both perception and active participation, with higher educational attainment associated with more critical attitudes toward the policy. Therefore, it is recommended that the Government of Timor-Leste improve transparent communication and participatory mechanisms to foster positive perceptions and stronger policy support, while encouraging academics to take a more active role in the policy-making process.

Abstract

The era of digital transformation and the complexity of modern organizational performance demands encourage the application of coaching and mentoring as a human resource development strategy. This study analyzes the influence of coaching and mentoring on the work motivation of employees in Sijunjung Regency, with self-efficacy as a mediator. The phenomenon in the field shows a disparity in work motivation between employees who participate in coaching and mentoring programs and those who do not, where the first group has higher self-efficacy and work motivation. A quantitative approach with an explanatory causality method was used on 125 employees through purposive sampling. Data was collected with a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-based SEM via SmartPLS. The results showed that coaching had a significant effect on work motivation (β = 0.711) and self-efficacy (β = 0.820), while mentoring had a significant effect on work motivation (β = 0.904) and self-efficacy (β = 0.856). Self-efficacy also mediates the influence of coaching and mentoring on work motivation. The research model showed R² 0.754 for self-efficacy and 0.044 for work motivation with a Q² of 0.996, indicating excellent predictive relevance. The findings affirm the important role of self-efficacy as a mediator and make theoretical and practical contributions to human resource development in local governments.

Abstract

The implementation of Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance has driven an urgent need for competent halal assistants to support the national halal certification program. This study aims to analyze the effect of Halal Product Process Assistant (P3H) training on alumni's job readiness with HR competency as a mediating variable. The phenomenon in the field shows that although Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world, the readiness of halal assistant human resources is still not optimal, where a survey by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (2023) indicated that only 45% of halal assistants have adequate job readiness. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design, involving 160 respondents who are alumni of the P3H Halal Center Cendekia Muslim training for the 2022-2025 period who were selected through simple random sampling from a population of 230 alumni. Data were collected using a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3.3.3 software. The results of the study showed that P3H training had a significant effect on work readiness (β = 0.038; t-value = 4.330; p-value = 0.041) and HR competency (β = 0.138; t-value = 5.029; p-value = 0.009). HR competency had a significant effect on work readiness (β = 0.230; t-value = 3.355; p-value = 0.001). Furthermore, HR competency was proven to mediate the effect of P3H training on work readiness (β = 0.032; t-value = 5.900; p-value = 0.037). The research model showed an R² value of 0.019 for HR competency and 0.057 for work readiness, with a Q² value of 0.745 indicating good predictive relevance. These findings confirm that human resource competency plays a partial mediator in the relationship between P3H training and job readiness, in accordance with Kirkpatrick's Four-Level Training Evaluation Model of human resource development theory. This study provides a theoretical contribution by integrating human resource management theory and job readiness within the context of the Indonesian halal ecosystem, as well as a practical contribution in the form of recommendations for developing a more applicable P3H training curriculum to support the government's target of achieving 100% halal-certified products by 2029.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to explore the perspectives of lecturers and students as actors in learning sustainability accounting and Sustainability Reporting (SR) courses and whether these courses can prepare them for employment opportunities in the sustainability field. Using a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach, it was found that in learning sustainability accounting and SR, the most important thing is how students have the awareness to be sensitive to social, economic, and environmental issues. In its implementation, it is appropriate to be applied as an elective course, although it does not rule out the possibility of this course being made a compulsory course and curriculum redesign, and with the implementation of this course at least students have an initial understanding of the concept of sustainability accounting and principles regarding the preparation of SR, although they cannot fill job opportunities in the field of sustainability.
