Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the education aspect so that the government has shifted the face-to-face learning process to online and for that we need e-learning learning media. Edmodo is a type of e-learning that looks like Facebook and is easy to use for beginners. Reproductive system material was material that is considered difficult for students. This study aimed to produce a valid Edmodo-based e-learning media on the reproductive system material for class XI High School. This type of study was Research and Development (R&D) using 4-D models: define, design, develop, dan disseminate. The disseminate stage was not carried out due to time and cost constraints and adjustments to the study objective. The study subjects were biology lecturers and teacher of SMAN 1 V Koto Kampung Dalam as validators of Edmodo-based e-learning media on reproductive system material. The used validity questionnaire consisted of 4 assessment components: content feasibility, language, presentment, and graphics. The data analysis technique was descriptive quantitative which described the validation of the developed e-learning. The validation result of the development of Edmodo-based e-learning media on reproductive system material for class XI were valid for all assessment components (content feasibility, language, presentation, and graphics) with an average validity test value of  84.43% (valid). Thus, the development of Edmodo-based e-learning media on reproductive system material for class XI High School was feasible to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

Kata kunci : gula darah puasa, diabetes mellitus tipe 2, remaja Abstract The rising prevalence of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) among adolescents is an increasing global health concern, including in Indonesia, particularly in Jambi City. In response to this issue, this community outreach aimed to conduct screening and educational activities to prevent T2DM among adolescents in Jambi City. The activities involved identifying gender, age, body mass index (BMI), and fasting blood glucose levels. 119 respondents comprised 31.1 % males and 68.9 % females aged 19-20. The BMI results showed 5.7% underweight, 13.1% slightly underweight, 61.5% average weight, 5.7% overweight, and 11.5% obese. Additionally, fasting blood glucose levels were recorded, with 99.2 % of respondents having levels below 125 mg/dL and 0.8 % above 125 mg/dL. This activity shows that most adolescents in Jambi City who have been screened have a Body Mass Index (BMI) and Fasting Blood Glucose Levels in the normal category. This indicates adolescents in Jambi have a low risk of T2DM. However, there are 0.8% of adolescents with fasting blood glucose levels above 125 mg/dl and 17.2% (non-ideal body mass), indicating a risk of prediabetes and obesity as the main factors in the development of T2DM. The findings highlight the importance of early screening and education to prevent the increasing incidence of T2DM in adolescents. Keywords: fasting blood glucose, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, adolescents

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a growing public health problem, characterized by central obesity, high blood sugar levels, increased blood pressure, and lipid profile disorders that can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. This community service activity was carried out to strengthen the competence of Posyandu cadres in the Tahtul Yaman Community Health Center (Puskesmas) work area in Jambi City in conducting early detection and providing education about MS. The program was implemented through three main stages: module development, module-based training, and direct mentoring in the field. The training module was designed by integrating the Health Belief Model (HBM) approach and andragogy principles, so that the learning process was more participatory and oriented towards the cadres' real-life experiences. A total of 15 cadres from nine Posyandus actively participated in this activity. Evaluation was carried out through pre- and post-tests to assess knowledge gains, and the Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) method to measure practical skills. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge scores, with the pass rate increasing from 73.33% to 100% after the training. Cadres were able to implement screening procedures according to standards and explain the examination results well. However, the communication-education aspect still needs strengthening to make health messages more easily accepted by the public. Overall, this program has proven effective in increasing the capacity of Posyandu cadres as the frontline of promotive and preventive health services at the community level.
