Objectives: To identify factors related to abdominal circumference in adolescent girls. Methods: The design research was a cross-sectional. The total sample was 89 respondents, using the Lemeshow formula. The Sampling was taken by purposive sampling. The abdominal circumference data was measured by a metline. The percentage of body fat was analyzed with the Omron body fat analyzer. Food consumption patterns used Semi Quantitative Food Frequency (SQ-FFQ). Emotional overeating used the Adult Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (AEBQ), diet attitude, and oral control with the Eating Attitude Test (EAT)-26. The Data was analyzed by STATA 13 with the spearman test. Results: Relationship of BMI (p=0.000; r=0.677), percentage of body fat (p=0.000; r=0.56), kind of junk food (p=0.02; r=0.23). frequency of junk food (p=0.04; r=0.21), energy intake from junk food (p=0.0061, r=0.28), fat intake from junk food (p=0.018, r=0.24), total enery intake (p=0.036; r=0.222), total fat intake (p=0.01; r=0.24); total fiber (p=0.17; r=0.14); overeating (p=0.018, r=0.25); diet attitude (p=0.000; r=-0.52), and oral control (p=0.0001; r=0.39) with abdominal circumference. Conclusions: There was a relationship between BMI, body fat percentage, junk food consumption pattern (type, frequency, amount of intake and fat), energy intake, fat intake, emotional overeating, diet attitude, and oral control of the abdominal circumference. Abstract

A halal lifestyle using halal-certified products is a vital necessity for Muslims. It allows Indonesia to become the world's largest producer and servicer of halal products. However, many uncertified halal products are circulating in the community, and the number of certified halal items tends to be small. Several factors influence the low quality of halal certification products. This Research aimed to identify factors influencing halal certification: education, knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and awareness. The Type of research was crossectional research. The research was conducted in the Ngawi district by comparing entrepreneurs with halal certification and entrepreneurs who still need to have halal certification, with the number of each sample of 26 entrepreneurs. The technique of sampling was purposive sampling.  These research variables are factors associated with halal certification, including the level of education, knowledge, attitudes, behavior, and awareness of the entrepreneur acquired through interviews using validated questionnaires and the reliability of the questionnaire. The education, knowledge, and attitude data were analyzed using a chi-square test. The behavior and halal awareness were analyzed using the Fisher test. The statistical test results showed a p-value of < 0.001 on the variables of knowledge, education, attitude, and behavior, so it can be said that knowledge, education, behavior, and attitude positively affect halal certification. However, based on the statistical test on the halal awareness variable, the relationship test results of p-value > 0.05, so it can be said that halal awareness does not positively affect halal certification. This research concludes that education, knowledge, attitudes, and behavior influence legal certification. Awareness of halal behavior does not affect halal certification.   Keywords: Attitude, Behavior, Education, Halal awareness, Halal certification knowledge

Abstract

Background: The Adolescents are currently facing the triple burden, which includes undernutrition, overnutrition or obesity, and micronutrient deficiencies. The nutritional status of adolescents was influenced by chrononutrition. Chrononutrition has a significant relationship with nutritional status. However, there are no studies in Indonesia that specifically examine the relationship between chrononutrition and nutritional status, Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC), and anemia in adolescent girls. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between chrononutrition and nutritional status in adolescents. Methods: This study was cross-sectional, that was conducted in Senior High School in Widodaren, Ngawi, in August until september 2024. The population in this study were teenager aged 14-19 years with a sampel size of 100 respondents calculated using the Lemeshow formula. The independent variable was chrononutrition namely breakfast skipping, evening eating and night eating. The chrononutrition was obtained using Chrononutrition Profile Questionnaire. Meanwhile the dependent variable was nutritional status using Body Mass Index/Age, anemia level using hemoglobin and chronic energy deficiency level which was obtained by mid upper arm circumference. The data was analyzed by chi square and fisher. Results: There was a relationship between chrononutrition namely breakfast skip (p-value=0.046), night eating (p-value=0.016), and evening eating (p-value=0.01) with nutritional status. There was relationship between chrononutrition namely breakfast skipping (p-value=0.003), night eating (p-value=0.001) and evening eating (p-value=0.03) with Anemia in Adolescent Girl. There was no relationship between chrononutrition namely breakfast skipping, and evening eating with MUAC in Adolescent girl, but there was relationship between night eating with MUAC. Conclusions: There was relationship between chrononutrition, namely breakfast skipping, night eating and evening eating with nutritional status and anemia. There was relationship between night eating with chronic energy deficiency. Meanwhile there was no relationship between chrononutrition, namely breakfast skipping and evening eating with chronic energy deficency.

Abstract

Improving nutrition literacy among mothers of toddlers, particularly regarding sugar and MSG consumption, is essential to prevent nutritional issues such as stunting and obesity. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of educational interventions on sugar and MSG consumption among mothers at Posyandu Kakaktua 7, Dusun Ngeledok, Ngawi, East Java, in July 2025. A pre-test and post-test design was used, with knowledge assessment conducted before and after the intervention. The educational session was delivered using a leaflet containing information on the health risks of excessive sugar and MSG consumption and guidance on healthier food choices. Results showed a significant improvement in mothers' knowledge, with an average pre-test score of 6.56 and a post-test score of 8.73. The intervention successfully enhanced mothers’ awareness of the negative effects of high sugar and MSG intake, promoting healthier dietary practices. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of community-based education in improving nutrition literacy and highlights the importance of empowering mothers in ensuring proper nutrition for their children.

Abstract

Background: Hemoglobin (Hb) played an important role in cognitive function and academic achievement. However, the direct association between Hb levels and student learning outcomes, particularly in Islamic boarding school–based campuses, has not been widely studied. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between hemoglobin levels and Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) as well as Pesantren Achievement Index (IPKS) among female students in a pesantren-based university. Methods: This was an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach involving 84 sixth-semester female students. Hb levels were measured using the EasyTouch GCHb device, while GPA and IPKS data were obtained from academic records. The Fisher Exact Test was used for statistical analysis. Results: Most respondents had normal hemoglobin levels (95.2%), good GPA (98.8%), and good IPKS (89.3%). No statistically significant relationship was found between Hb levels and GPA (p = 0.952) or IPKS (p = 0.055), although a practically relevant trend was observed in the IPKS results. Conclusion: There was no significant association between hemoglobin levels and student learning achievement as measured by GPA and IPKS. Academic and pesantren achievements were likely influenced by other factors beyond hemoglobin status, suggesting that intervention approaches should be multidimensional.
