Abstract

This research aimed to determine the perception and use of E-Journals in fulfilling academic writing needs by 8th-semester students of the English Department at UIN Fatmawati Sukarno Bengkulu during the COVID pandemic. Thus the variable consists of two, namely the dependent variable Academic Writing with the following indicators are Using resources to achieve academic writing, Level of staff in finding sources, Frequency of accessing sources, Scope of source search, and Determining the required information sources. While the independent variables consist of E-Journal-free indicators are Utilization, Update, Accessibility, Frequency, Speed, Convenience, and Security. This research method uses quantitative descriptive with samples taken using a random sampling technique consisting of a sample of 60 students. Then for data collection has used the instrument through questionnaires and observations. This research's results indicate that the study Level of student e-journal perceptions during the pandemic was on a scale of 3.31 (good). Furthermore, the study results showed that the level of use of e-journals as a source of information for academic writing is on a scale of 3.16 (good). In this case, the researcher suggests several things that need to be improved, including increasing the means of accessing e-journals and improving in updating and completeness of e-journal websites.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan makna ungkapan bahasa gaul melalui media sosial whatsapp di kalangan remaja Desa Talang Karet Kabupaten Kepahiang. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian lapangan. Yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja Desa Talang Karet Kabupaten Kepahiang yang menggunakan bahasa gaul dalam media sosial whatsApp. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada analisis data disimpulkan bahwa terdapat sebanyak 31 data percakapan pesan whatsApp yang mempunyai tujuh bentuk bahasa gaul yang digunakan dalam percakapan pesan whatsApp pada remaja Desa Talang Karet Kabupaten Kepahiang yaitu: Singkatan, pemendekkan, akronim, modifikasi atau kreatif, serapan, imbuhan kata manasuka dan plesetan. Kedua berdasarkan hasil dari analisis data makna bahasa gaul yang digunakan oleh remaja dalam percakapan pesan whatsApp di desa tersebut sangat beragam sesuai dengan konteks dalam berkomunikasi yaitu makna yang mengarah pada konteks sapaan, ajakan, ucapan terima kasih dan lain sebagainya

Abstract

The research used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental type. The population obtained from this research were class 10 students at SMA N 3. This research used a purposive sampling technique to determine two classes as samples, class 10 K consisting of 33 students as the control class and class 10 L consisting of 36 students as the class experiment. Based on the research results that have been tested, the researcher obtained an average pretest score for the control class with a value of 45.97 with a std error value of 2,964, while the average score for the experimental class was 55.00 with a std error value of 2840. Based on the pretest results, it can be seen that knowledge the basis of the experimental class is more than the control class. Furthermore, the average post-test score for the control class was 69.35 with a std error of 1,762, while the average post-test score for the experimental class was 76.03 with a std error of 1,413. Based on the results of the post-test that has been carried out, it can be concluded that after carrying out the treatment using the Think, pair, and share teaching model, significant changes were obtained based on the results of the average between the control and experimental classes adapting to the Merdeka curriculum at SMAN 3 Bengkulu City.
