Abstract

Ethnoscience is a learning design that integrates science with local culture. When viewed from the facts on the ground, students' interest in studying science is very low, as is their knowledge of local cultures. The results of the PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) study show that on average Indonesian students have scientific literacy which is decreasing from year to year, which is 393 in 2006, 383 in 2009, and in 2012 it is 382. This study aims to describe the role of ethnoscience learning in increasing local knowledge of elementary age children. This research method uses a qualitative approach to the type of literature study. The data sources used are taken from journals and books published in the last 10 years. The results of this study indicate that learning that utilizes local wisdom as a source of learning can increase students' scientific knowledge and Local Knowledge. Local Knowledge development in learning can be done through the preparation of lesson plans, media, teaching materials, methods and models based on ethnoscience. Based on the discussion of the results and research findings, it can be concluded that every learning using media, teaching materials, methods and models based on ethnoscience can increase the Local Knowledge of elementary age children and facilitate the teaching and learning process

Abstract

Childhood is a golden period for education provider, because a great opportunity of human development and growth happened on this period. One of human development happened on this period is soft motor skills. This study purposed for describe pre-school soft motor skill by copying story script activities. The kind of this study are quantitative descriptive study with 100 sample of 4-6 years old pre-school student. Data collected by using copying story script test, observation, and documentations. The instrument used on this study is copying story script test sheet and observation. The result of study analyzed using score percentage to describe how much pre-school soft motor skill by copying story script activities. Result of the study show that pre-school soft motor skill by copying story script activities are 84,00 % with “fine” category, meanwhile the result of observation showed that pre-schooler showing positive effort when performing copying story script activities.

Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan MI Hidayatul Umah Montong masih belum optimal karena hanya dilakukan dengan cara pembakaran. Selain itu, permasalahan lain yang ditemukan yaitu pihak sekolah belum memiliki mitra untuk memulai kegiatan daur ulang, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan daur ulang pada siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dalam mengolah sampah anorganik serta dapat mendaur ulang atau menciptakan sesuatu yang berguna bagi lingkungan sekitar. Salah satu caranya yaitu melalui pembelajaran ekoliterasi, untuk meningkatan pemahaman mengurangi sampah sejak usia sekolah dasar melalui edukasi reduce (mengurangi sampah), reuse (memakai kembali benda yang berpotensi menjadi sampah), dan recycle (mendaur ulang sampah), atau yang lebih dikenal dengan istilah 3R. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest & postest design. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes hasil belajar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik yang awalnya kurang dari 60% peserta didik yang mendapatkan hasil belajar tinggi, menjadi lebih dari 80% peserta didik dari 16 peserta didik hasil belajarnya tinggi.

Abstract

Learning is a process that requires a dialogical relationship between educators and students. In delivering learning materials, appropriate methods are needed to transfer knowledge from teacher to students. Learning methods can be interpreted as the methods used to implement plans that have been prepared on the practical activities to achieve learning objectives. Choosing a learning method that suits the characteristics of students can make it easier for educators to deliver the learning materials. The lecture method is a classical method that is frequently used in various learning. This method uses verbal explanations carried out by educators directly in front of students at the front of the class. This research, which uses the qualitative case study design, aims to determine the implementation of the lecture method in 3rd class students on learning fiqh at Tuban Islamic Elementary School.

Abstract

Learning media are tools or intermediaries used by teachers to channel information to students so that learning objectives are achieved. If we look at the facts on the ground, learning media has its own advantages and challenges in improving the quality of learning, especially at MI. Teachers are required to carry out learning using media, but on the other hand, they face many obstacles such as inadequate facilities and infrastructure. This condition makes teachers have to rack their brains with their abilities and creativity together with students to create alternative media so that the use of media is appropriate and not a barrier to learning. This research aims to analyze the use of learning media and the problems of using science learning media in class V as well as efforts to overcome these problems. This research was conducted at MI Al Mubarok Semanding. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research. Namely focused on learning media analysis. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that teachers are able to face the challenges of technological limitations by creating alternative media with students. However, schools are also trying to fulfill the provision of technology-based media by running a one day one coin program so that learning is more effective and efficient.

Abstract

The ability to think critically and creatively is one of the priority abilities that the millennial generation must have in the 21st century. Efforts to improve students' critical and creative thinking abilities have been found through various learning approaches and models. However, before choosing the right type of approach and learning model in science learning, teachers are required to carry out initial mapping of students' critical and creative thinking abilities so that the chosen learning approach and model is more optimal and efficient. This research aims to describe the level of critical and creative thinking abilities of fourth grade students in science learning at MINU Hidayatun Najah Tuban with a total of 32 students as participants. The research design used is quantitative, survey-based on data that has been collected through test sheet and documentation methods. As a result, even though science learning for grade IV students at MINU Hidayatun Najah Tuban has used student-centered learning, the students' critical thinking abilities are still in the low category. On the other hand, students' creative thinking abilities are considered to be good. Thus, not all learning approaches and models are suitable for improving students' critical and creative thinking abilities, especially in science learning. For this reason, before implementing certain learning approaches and models in science learning, it is recommended to measure students' initial abilities that will be developed so that teachers can choose learning approaches and models according to their needs.

Abstract

The problem of this research is based on such as students who are less active in questioning with the teacher, and students have not been facilitated to carry out various activities such as experimental tools or various experiments, and also the media still does not attract the attention and enthusiasm of students in learning in class. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the application of a guided inquiry model with multimedia to improve science learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at MI Kelopo Telu Tuban (2) to describe science learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at MI Kelopo Telu Tuban (3) to describe improving science learning outcomes in the application of guided inquiry model with multimedia in class V MI Kelopo Telu Tuban. The type of research used is collaborative classroom action research which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects in this study were students V MI Kelopo Telu Tuban, totaling 15 students. The data used are quantitative in the form of evaluation test results and qualitative data in the form of observations and interview sheets to students regarding the application of guided inquiry models with multimedia. Data collection techniques used are test and non-test techniques, namely observation, and interviews. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. From the results of research on student learning outcomes, each cycle experienced an increase in the application of guided inquiry learning science with this multimedia model. in the first cycle, the average is 77.33, and the completeness is 66.66%, while in the second cycle the average is 82.26 and the completeness is 93.33%. It can be said that classical completeness has been fulfilled because it has reached 75%. Thus, the conclusion of this study is that the application of the guided inquiry model with multimedia can improve learning outcomes in class V MI Kelopo Telu Tuban students.

Abstract

The problem that is the background to this research is that there are students who still have difficulties learning mathematics. Apart from the high level of difficulty in learning mathematics, the teacher's method of delivery, which is considered monotonous, also makes students lazy about learning mathematics and results in most of them having low grades in this subject. This research is to see the validity of developing holistic counting box learning media to improve students' cognitive abilities. (2) To produce practical development of holistic counting box learning media to improve students' cognitive abilities. (3) To produce effective development of holistic counting box learning media to improve students' cognitive abilities. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method, which uses the 4-D development model. The 4-D development model includes 4 stages, namely definition, planning or design, development, and dissemination. Based on the validity test, the media meets the very valid category. Validation of the appropriateness of media expert data received a score of 96%. Validation of material expert eligibility with a score percentage of 97.5%. The level of practicality of the media obtained results with a percentage of 91%, the teacher's response to the media developed by the researcher with a percentage result of 95.5%, and the response of students to the media developed by the researcher with a percentage result of 97%, with each questionnaire result in very high criteria. Good. Student learning outcomes increased after being calculated using the gain normality test, with an average pretest score of 62.5 while the average posttest score was 89 and the average gain normality test calculation was 0.75 in the high category. The results of this research and development can be concluded that the holistic mathematics counting box learning medium is included in the valid, practical, and effective category for use in mathematics learning to improve students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student activeness in science learning at MI Plus Wildan Assyifa using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The focus is to obtain in-depth information about the level of student activeness as a reference for teachers, as well as to offer updates from previous studies that rarely highlight aspects of student activeness specifically. The research method used is qualitative with a narrative approach. Qualitative research emphasizes the quality and meaning behind the phenomenon, while the narrative approach is used to tell individual or group experiences through documentation and personal analysis. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student activeness after the implementation of PjBL integrated with the simulation method. Measurement of activeness was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, which included the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Students showed active involvement in preparing project schedules, bringing materials, and collaborating in working on the volcanic eruption simulation task. The teacher managed to overcome the challenges of attracting students' attention and limited facilities with creativity and the use of simple materials, without complaints from parents. This method not only improves understanding of the material, but also forms student character such as responsibility, discipline, self-confidence, and curiosity. Students become more enthusiastic, interactive, and able to overcome learning boredom. Teachers feel motivated to see the positive responses of students and consider this method to have a broad impact on the science learning process, creating a more lively and dynamic classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Sensory Geometry Card media on the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Bina Wiyata Kepohagung Plumpang Kindergarten. The problem raised is the lack of interesting and interactive media to introduce basic geometry concepts, so that some children have difficulty distinguishing shapes such as circles, triangles, and squares. The study used a quantitative approach of one-group pretest-posttest design with a sample of 27 children. Data collection techniques used observation, written tests, and documentation. The results of the study from the average pretest value of 18.18, and after being given treatment through the application of sensory geometry card media, the average posttest value increased to 26.74 so that there was an increase of 8.56 points. The results of the t-test showed t count = 13.250> t table = 2.056 and a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so H₀ was rejected. This means that there is a significant influence of the use of Sensory Geometry Card media on the cognitive abilities of children aged 5-6 years at Bina Wiyata Kepohagung Plumpang Kindergarten.
