Abstract

This study examines the role and challenges faced by Islamic religious education in Tapanuli Tengah. The objectives of this research are to understand the state of Islamic religious education in the region and to analyze its role and the challenges it encounters. The study employs a qualitative research method with a case study approach, collecting data through interviews conducted in schools or madrasas that represent the geographical conditions of the area. The research focuses on five senior high school-level institutions, Several key findings were identified. In Tapanuli Tengah, some schools have implemented programs to support the development of Islamic religious education, such as monthly religious study sessions (pengajian), communal religious obligations (fardhu kifayah), and extracurricular activities through the Islamic Student Organization (ROHIS) in Madrasah Aliyah. Additionally, some of the observed schools have incorporated technology into their teaching processes to enhance innovation and student engagement, However, challenges remain. Some students still exhibit low interest in Islamic religious education, attributed to rapid technological advancements and the widespread use of gadgets, which divert their attention away from classroom learning. This has led to a paradigm shift from doctrinal teaching methods to contextual, technology-based learning approaches rooted in local wisdom. Strengthening Islamic religious education requires synergy among schools/madrasas, families, and communities to ensure students remain guided and shielded from the negative impacts of social media.

Abstract

This study examines in depth the Qur'an memorization method applied to children at the Prophet's Mosque, one of the world's leading centers for Qur'an learning. The focus of the study is to analyze the approach used to facilitate the process of memorizing the Qur'an for young children, as well as the factors supporting its success. The main problem raised is how the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque can maximize the memorization potential of children while maintaining the quality of reading and understanding. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque integrates three main components: (1) a classical system with group division based on ability, (2) a structured repetition technique (tikrar), and (3) individual mentoring by teachers who have passed special certification. In addition, the spiritual environment of the Prophet's Mosque and community support are key factors that strengthen children's motivation. Evaluation is carried out periodically through weekly and monthly memorization tests (simaan). The conclusion of this study confirms that the success of the tahfidz method at the Prophet's Mosque lies not only in memorization techniques, but also in creating a holistic learning ecosystem that integrates cognitive, spiritual, and social aspects. These findings can serve as a reference for other tahfidz institutions in developing effective learning systems.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) and Social Studies (SS) in shaping students' character at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Pura. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological model and a field research approach. The research population consists of IRE teachers, SS teachers, and students at SMP Negeri 3 Tanjung Pura. The results of the study indicate that the integration of the two subjects successfully enhances student character through the connection of subject material with Islamic values, the use of integrated learning methods, and practical activities that involve students in social contexts.

Abstract

This article examines the importance of students' manners toward teachers from the perspective of Islamic education, which has recently been seen as declining. The purpose of this research is to provide students with an understanding that manners are more important than knowledge. This research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach in the form of a literature study, examining books, classical texts, and the contents of the Quran related to this discussion. The results found that manners encompass not only external respect but also reflect internal attitudes that influence the formation of students' character, spirituality, and intellect. Based on an analysis of Surah Al-Kahf (verses 65-70), several important principles are explained, such as respect, patience, asking permission from the teacher, acknowledging the teacher's knowledge, being serious in learning, and avoiding negative prejudice. These principles are relevant in modern education to create harmonious relationships between students and teachers, thus supporting an effective and meaningful learning process. This research highlights that manners toward teachers serve not only as a form of etiquette but also as a way to maintain noble values ​​in facing the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This study analyzes the learning strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at MA Al Ittihadiyah with a focus on integrating Arabic as a medium for strengthening Islamic values. PAI plays a strategic role in shaping religious character, while Arabic is essential as the language of the Qur’an and Hadith. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analyzed through Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings show that PAI strategies were implemented through interactive lectures, group discussions, memorization, recitation, and daily worship habituation. The integration of Arabic not only enhanced students’ language competence but also reinforced the internalization of Islamic values. Supporting factors included teacher competence, the school’s religious culture, and parental support, while obstacles were differences in Arabic proficiency, limited digital media, and tight schedules. The study concludes that PAI strategies based on Arabic integration are relevant, effective, and serve as a model for adaptive Islamic education in the modern era.

Abstract

This research is a form of learning model which contains learning approaches, learning methods, learning strategies and learning techniques and tactics. These forms are methods or strategies that can be used by a teacher to provide understanding to their students. The aim of this research is not to find out about the development of learning methods in Islamic religious education. The research method used by the author is qualitative research, using a library research approach. The results of this research show that in the Dusun Juruh school, West Bangka sub-district, there is a lack of learning methods applied by the teachers at the school, so this research aims to increase the development of learning using demonstration methods and lecture methods because students in these schools quickly catch on with these methods. a teacher must be intelligent in understanding and able to provide understanding to students, because students' models of understanding are different, as well as various learning methods, the teacher must adapt to the patterns and limits of students' abilities in absorbing lessons. Perfect student understanding is a common hope, but this understanding goes back to the teaching method adopted by a teaching staff, so from the writing above it explains the methods and strategies in learning, the models above can be a reference in providing learning material to children educate.

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are still problems in learning at SMP Muhammadiyah 51 Sidikalang regarding Kemuhammadiyahan lessons. Based on the results of observations made by researchers, one of the causes is the low interest in student learning in Kemuhammadiyahan lessons. This study aims to analyze the problems of student learning in the Kemuhammadiyahan subject, to reveal the constraints experienced by teachers and students and to explain the efforts made to overcome the obstacles that occur to the teachers and students. The method used in this research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Respondents in this study are 2 people who have the criteria that have been explained. The data collection tools used in this study were observation sheets, interview sheets, and documentation. The results showed that the constraints experienced by the teacher were the lack of learning time and the lack of self-awareness of the students to better understand Muhammadiyah learning material. While the inhibiting factors of student learning interest are the lack of insight of the teacher when explaining learning to students to make it easier for students to understand the material taught by the subject teacher, the condition of the class is crowded, students have their own busyness when the teacher explains the material and students who are not ready to study in incomplete learning equipment. Efforts are being made to overcome the obstacles experienced by teachers and students by adding learning time so that students can calmly listen to the explanations taught by the teacher.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter religius merupakan suatu kewajiban yang harus dipenuhi oleh kedua orang tua, khususnya ibu, bagi anak-anaknya sejak dini. Namun hal ini mendorong perempuan untuk bekerja di luar rumah seiring berjalannya waktu dan kebutuhan manusia yang semakin meningkat. Oleh karena itu, didirikanlah lembaga sosial penitipan dan pendidikan anak yang disebut dengan (Day Care) di masyarakat untuk menggantikan peran orang tua dalam pengasuhan, merawat, dan pendidikan anak-anaknya. Tujuan dari penelitian yang dilakukan di Taska Kasih Khadeeja Bandar Bukit Raja Selangor Malaysia ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembentukan karakter religius pada anak usia dibawah 2 tahun tercapai. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Tenik pengumpulan data berdasarkan wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan cara pembentukan karakter religius anak di Taska Kasih Khadeeja. Metode pembiasaan yang dilakukan untuk membentuk karakter dan kebiasaan positif pada anak-anak, seperti membaca doa, mendengarkan kisah-kisah agama, dan melafalkan huruf-huruf hijaiyah. Selain itu, guru-guru juga memberikan teladan yang baik dalam berpenampilan, berbicara, dan bertindak.

Abstract

Student social interaction in the school environment is an essential factor in shaping the character and morals of the younger generation. Teachers have a strategic role as educators, mentors, and role models in guiding healthy social interactions by moral and religious values. This study aims to describe and analyze the role of teachers in fostering student social interactions at SMAN 1 Lae Parira, while assessing its alignment with Islamic educational principles. The study employs a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques through interviews with five teachers and 76 students from grades 10 to 12. The study results show that teachers actively set positive examples, remind students of the importance of good manners, guide students away from promiscuity, and monitor student interactions inside and outside the classroom. Teachers also pay special attention to students who exhibit deviant behavior and involve students in activities that support healthy social interaction. Despite challenges, such as students' varying comfort levels in discussing personal issues, teachers are generally assessed as actively and positively fulfilling their roles. This study concludes that teachers at SMAN 1 Lae Parira foster student social interactions that align with Islamic educational values ??and contribute significantly to creating a socially and spiritually conducive school environment
