Abstract

Water conservation is an effort to protect, use and manage water wisely to ensure the availability of sufficient water for current and future needs. This research aims to determine the relationship between students' knowledge and attitudes in water conservation at the MA Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru Dormitory. The research design used is a quantitative design using a cross-sectional approach, where researchers will look for relationships with students' knowledge and attitudes in water conservation. The independent variables (Knowledge and Attitudes) and the dependent variable (Water Conservation) in students will be assessed and measured at the same time. Data analysis in this research consisted of univariate and bivariate analysis. The research was conducted at the Madrasah Aliyah Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru Dormitory from September to October 2023. that there was a significant relationship between knowledge and water conservation at the Madrasah Aliyah Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru Dormitory with a p-value of 0.008 and there was a significant relationship between attitude and water conservation in the Dormitory Madrasah Aliyah Pekanbaru with a p-value of 0.003. It is hoped that schools can provide education to students about water conservation so that students can increase their knowledge so that it can be applied in everyday life in the dormitory.

Abstract

The background of this research is to control the quality of bag production to reduce product defects and improve the quality of the resulting products. The purpose of this research is to identify the causes of product defects, determine the DPMO and sigma values, and propose improvements using the Lean Six Sigma method for bag production at Alfajar Bag convection. This research is both descriptive quantitative and qualitative, collecting production data over one year from May 2022 to April 2023. It was found that 11,940 Rempel Backpacks were produced, with 1,147 defective items, resulting in an average defect rate of 9.6%. The research analysis uses the Lean Six Sigma method to understand quality control through several stages. In the Define phase, four types of Critical To Quality (CTQ) attributes were identified for Rempel Backpack production. In the Measure phase, the calculations for DPMO and Sigma Level revealed an average DPMO of 24,015.913 and a Sigma Level of 3.477ϭ. In the Analyze phase, five main factors and seven types of waste affecting production were identified. In the Improve phase, several improvement suggestions were made to reduce product defects and waste in the bag production at Alfajar Bag. In the Control phase, the improvement suggestions analyzed in the Improve phase were implemented, and continuous monitoring and improvements were carried out.

Abstract

The selection of a study program is one of the crucial initial decisions for prospective students when entering college. This decision is ideally based on a good understanding of their interests, talents, and abilities so that prospective students can study optimally and in accordance with their potential. Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is a multi-criteria decision-making method where the best alternative has the longest distance from the negative ideal solution and has the shortest distance from the positive ideal solution. The selection of these criteria and alternatives aims to produce relevant and accurate recommendations in helping prospective students determine the choice of study program that best suits their potential and preferences. The results of these recommendations are then further analyzed to group the results of the recommendations based on the category of interest. The K-Means Clustering method using the K-Means method with the results of C1 with 9 Respondentsts of less interested study programs, C2 with 25 Respondentsts of moderately interested study programs, and C3 with 21 Respondentsts of highly interested study programs

Abstract

Construction project delay is a condition where the execution of work does not proceed according to the agreed schedule. The construction project of Norfa Husada Mother and Child Hospital experienced delays impacting costs and operational time. This study aims to identify the factors causing delays, determine the most dominant factors, and formulate preventive measures. The method used was a questionnaire distribution to 30 respondents directly involved in the project, including contractors, consultants, and project owners. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (Mean Rank) with SPSS software. The results show that the Planning Factor is the most dominant cause, specifically due to design changes (redesign) and changes in the scope of work, with a mean value of 1.97. The second dominant factor is the Execution Factor, particularly regarding poor work sequence planning, with a mean value of 1.90. Based on these results, the main strategies to prevent delays include maturing the design planning before construction begins, strengthening coordination between the owner and contractor regarding scope changes, and establishing a more structured method of execution (SOP) in the field.

Abstract

Waste management is a crucial issue in sustainable development, particularly in areas with high population growth and economic activity. This study aims to evaluate the waste management system in Bangkinang Kota District, Kampar Regency, which faces various challenges, including inadequate infrastructure, low public awareness, and a suboptimal management system. The research method used is a Mixed Method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative data collection techniques simultaneously in one study. The results indicate that the waste management system in Bangkinang Kota is still not effectively integrated, particularly in operational techniques, community participation, and institutional aspects. The lack of storage facilities, unscheduled transportation, and the habit of littering are the main challenges. Recommendations from this study include improving waste infrastructure, providing ongoing community education, and strengthening regulations and coordination between relevant parties to create a sustainable and community-based waste management system.
