Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) bentuk penggunaan kata sapaan kekeluargaan pada anak usia 5-20 tahun; dan (2) faktor-faktor yang melatarbelakagi terjadinya penggunaan kata sapaan kekeluargaan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa ujaran atau kata-kata yang diujarkan oleh anak usia 5-20 tahun khususnya dalam kata sapaan kekeluargaan di Kecamatan Siulak Mukai. Jumlah responden yaitu 48 orang, berusia 5-20 tahun. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil penelitian yaitu: (1) bentuk kata sapaan kekeluargaan yang digunakan oleh anak usia 5-20 tahun di Kecamatan Siulak Mukai, untuk kata sapaan kekeluargaan anak pertama: akak, abang, uni, dan uwo,  kata sapaan anak kedua: abang, uni, dan ngah, kata sapaan anak ketiga: pandak, kata sapaan ayah: papi, abi, papa dan  apak kata sapaan ibu: , mama, mami, ummi,bunda dan amak, kata sapaan kakek: oppa, kakek, grandpa, dan nytan,  kata sapaan nenek: omma, nenek, grandma, dan  tino,  kata sapaan ayah dan ibu dari kakek dan nenek: munyang  kata sapaan saudara laki-laki dari ayah: pak itek  dan pak cik, kata sapaan saudara perempuan dari ayah: onty, tante, latung,, kata sapaan saudara laki-laki dari ibu: oom, paman, dan tuan dan sapaan saudara perempuan dari ibu: mak itek dan tante. (2) faktor yang melatarbelakagi terjadinya penggunaan kata sapaan di Kecamatan Siulak Mukai yaitu faktor tingkat pendidikan, dan kelas sosial masyarakat. Penggunaan kata sapaan kekeluargaan di Kecamatan Siulak Mukai merupakan fenomena yang menarik dalam perkembangan bahasa, dalam hal ini penggunaan kata sapaan kekeluargaan pada anak usia 5-20 tahun. Kajian mengenai penggunaan kata sapaan kekeluargaan pada anak usia 5-20 tahun di Kecamatan Siulak Mukai Kabupaten Kerinci, dapat menambah hasil penelitian kualitatif dibidang sosiolinguistik, kajian dialektologi khususnya yang berhubungan dengan penelitian penggunaan kata sapaan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji mengenai budaya mandi balimau di minangkabau dalam menyambut bulan suci ramadhan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang mengunakan metode kajian literature dan dititik beratkan pada penggunaan data sekunder berupa jurnal, website, ertikel ilmiah yang berhubungan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Budaya Mandi Balimau di Minangkabau merupakan tradisi yang kaya akan makna dan nilai, terutama dalam menyambut bulan suci Ramadhan. Mandi balimau bukan sekadar mandi fisik, tetapi juga ritual yang mempunyai nilai spiritual yang dalam. Ritual ini dipercayai sebagai sarana untuk membersihkan diri dari dosa dan kesalahan, menjadikan pikiran lebih tenang, serta mempersiapkan diri secara fisik dan spiritual untuk memasuki bulan Ramadhan dengan hati yang suci

Abstract

Minangkabau adalah salah satu suku budaya yang ada di Indonesia. Masyarakat Minangkabau menganut sistem kekerabatan matrilineal, yaitu mengambil garis keturunan ibu. Dalam sistem matrilineal, masyarakat Minangkabau harus menikah dengan orang luar sukunya. Oleh sebab itu artikel ini akan membahas tentang pelaksanaan perkawinan adat pada masyarakat Minangkabau sudah sesuai dan tidak melanggar hukum adat setempat, pelaksanaan perkawinan adat sesuku di masyarakat Minangkabau, perkawinan ini adalah perkawinan yang dilarang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian hukum sosiologis, yang menekankan pada penelitian yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh pengetahuan hukum secara empiris dengan langsung menuju pada tujuannya. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pernikahan adat pada masyarakat Minangkabau berlangsung melalui beberapa proses upacara adat yang melibatkan tetua adat dan tokoh adat. Prosesi pernikahan disebut Baralek. Begitu juga perkawinan sesama suku, atau perkawinan yang dilarang oleh adat, juga melibatkan beberapa prosesi yang melibatkan para tetua dan tokoh adat ketika dilakukan perundingan untuk mencari solusi bagi pelaku perkawinan sesama suku. Selain itu, pelaku perkawinan sesuku akan dikenakan sanksi sesuai adat setempat, seperti pengusiran sepanjang adat oleh penghulu suku, pengucilan dari masyarakat, hingga pembayaran denda sesuai kesepakatan.

Abstract

Suku Minangkabau di Barat Sumatera dikenal dengan struktur sosial matrilineal, di mana garis keturunan dan warisan diturunkan melalui jalur ibu. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh sistem matrilineal terhadap kehidupan sehari-hari, struktur keluarga, dan peran perempuan di dlam masyarakat Minangkabau. Terdapat penekanan pada relevansi perspektif feminisme, mengungkapkan pergeseran dinamika gender, potensi pemberdayaan perempuan, dan tantangan dalam mencapai kesetaraan gender. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman mengenai keragaman budaya, sistem sosial, dan perjuangan gender dalam konteks lokal Minangkabau.

Abstract

A this research aims to describe the form and types of speech acts, as well as a description of the principle of cooperation in teacher speech in the Indonesian language learning process at SMAN Padang City. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods, while the research data is all Indonesian language teacher speech which contains the forms and types of speech acts as well as the principles of cooperation. Data collection techniques are carried out through the observation and recording stages. Data analysis techniques are: (1) Transcribing the speech of teachers who teach Indonesian; (2) classifying the types of teacher speech and the principles of cooperation between teachers who teach Indonesian; (3) interpreting the data found, (4) drawing conclusions, and making reports related to teacher speech acts and the application of the principle of cooperation. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that speech acts and the principle of cooperation are interconnected because to find out teachers adhere to the principle of cooperation seen from the meaning of the speech spoken by the teacher to the students.

Abstract

By using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach at Al Azhar 32 Islamic Elementary School in Padang, this study aims to improve students' reading and writing interest. Learning motivation is crucial to improving students' academic achievement, especially in basic literacy skills such as reading and writing. However, due to the lack of diverse and non-contextual teaching strategies, elementary school students often have low literacy motivation. The PBL paradigm, which focuses on solving real-world problems, is one of the creative, more dynamic, and challenging learning methodologies needed. The Classroom Action Research (CAR) method uses two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were fourth-grade students, and a learning motivation questionnaire was administered before and after the activity, along with observations of learning activities and interviews with teachers and students. Descriptive, qualitative, and quantitative analyses were conducted on the data. The research findings indicate that using the PBL paradigm significantly increased children's motivation to write and read. Students' enthusiasm increases, they participate more actively in class discussions, can express their thoughts more systematically, and become interested in literacy-related activities. The Problem-Based Learning approach has increased elementary school students' reading motivation. Through problem-based learning that can be applied to students' daily lives, this approach encourages emotional and cognitive engagement.

Abstract

The digital era has brought fundamental changes to education, shifting the learning paradigm toward more intensive use of technology. The current generation, known as digital natives, has high expectations for the use of technology in the learning process. This requires educators to provide learning media that are innovative, interactive, and relevant to current developments. In Indonesian language learning, strategies are needed that can utilize technology while maintaining the nation's cultural and linguistic values. One medium with great potential is educational podcasts. This research used a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data were collected through a review of various relevant literature sources, such as scientific journals and articles, to obtain a theoretical foundation. Data analysis was carried out in three stages: orientation to understand the topic in general, reduction to filter important information, and selection to select the most relevant data according to the research focus. The results of the study indicate that educational podcasts are effective as a medium for Indonesian language learning in the digital era. Podcasts provide easy access, improve listening skills, and stimulate student creativity. Their success is greatly influenced by integration with the curriculum, content development tailored to student needs, technological infrastructure support, and teacher training in managing this media. Despite challenges such as differences in student learning styles and varying content quality, solutions can be found through the use of multimedia, curated materials, and teacher competency development. Podcasts have significant potential to strengthen Indonesian language learning while preserving the richness of Indonesia's language and culture in the digital age.

Abstract

Character education is a fundamental element in shaping ethical behavior and discipline among elementary school students. However, in practice, various problems indicate the weak internalization of character values in students’ daily behavior. This article aims to analyze the condition of students’ ethics and discipline in elementary schools and to examine the factors contributing to the fragility of character education in learning practices. This study employs a qualitative approach with an analytical-reflective design. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews with several elementary school teachers, documentation analysis, and a review of relevant literature. The findings reveal that the decline in students’ ethics and discipline is influenced by several factors, including changes in the social environment, limited parental involvement in character development, and the challenges of uncontrolled digital technology use. Although various character education efforts have been implemented by teachers and schools, these initiatives tend to produce only temporary effects and have not been sustained. This condition reflects the fragility of character education in elementary schools, highlighting the need for stronger and continuous collaboration among schools, families, and the broader social environment.

Abstract

Basic education plays a strategic role not only in developing students’ academic competencies but also in shaping social awareness and character as members of society. This article aims to evaluate the role of basic education within the social context of society from a sociological perspective. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through a literature review of scholarly sources related to the sociology of education and basic education. The analysis focused on examining the function of basic education as a social institution, an agent of socialization, and a medium for internalizing social values and norms. The findings indicate that basic education has a significant role in fostering social values, strengthening social integration, and preparing students to adapt to the dynamics of social life. However, this role has not been fully optimized due to various social factors, including diverse family backgrounds, community environments, and limited collaboration between schools, parents, and society. Therefore, strengthening the implementation of sociological foundations in basic education practices is essential to ensure that educational processes are more contextual, inclusive, and responsive to social realities. This study is expected to provide a conceptual contribution to the development of policies and practices in basic education oriented toward enhancing students’ social competencies

Abstract

Learning in primary schools plays a strategic role in developing students’ cognitive abilities, attitudes, and skills. However, learning practices in primary schools continue to face various challenges, including low levels of student engagement, the dominance of teacher-centered instruction, and the mismatch between instructional strategies and students’ developmental characteristics. These conditions negatively affect the quality of learning processes and outcomes. This article aims to analyze learning-related problems in primary schools and to propose strategic solutions through student-centered learning innovation. This study employs a literature review method with a conceptual analysis approach based on relevant scientific publications, educational policies, and previous research findings. The analysis indicates that student-centered learning innovation serves as a strategic solution to enhance students’ engagement, autonomy, and learning motivation through the implementation of active, contextual, collaborative, and reflective learning approaches. Therefore, student-centered learning innovation functions not merely as an instructional shift but as a strategic effort to improve the quality of learning in primary schools
