Abstract

The adherence to journalistic ethics is crucial for ensuring responsible and professional journalism. However, understanding and applying these ethics, especially from an Islamic perspective, presents challenges for beginner journalists. This study aims to explore the internalization of Islamic journalistic ethics among beginner journalists and identify the strategies to strengthen their ethical practices. The study employs a qualitative approach using Participatory Action Research (PAR), involving beginner journalists in interactive discussions and real-life case studies to facilitate the understanding and application of Islamic journalistic ethics. Data was collected through interviews and group discussions with journalists at various media outlets. The findings reveal that while beginner journalists have a basic understanding of journalistic ethics, their knowledge of Islamic principles, such as honesty, trustworthiness, and justice, is limited. The challenges in implementing these principles are primarily influenced by industry pressures, organizational culture, and the tension between press freedom and moral responsibility. The study highlights the need for deeper education and training on Islamic journalistic ethics to enable journalists to consistently apply these principles in their daily work. It emphasizes the importance of creating supportive environments for ethical behavior and fostering collaboration between media, educational institutions, and religious organizations. Future research should explore the broader application of Islamic ethics in digital media and investigate technological solutions to enhance ethical practices in journalism.

Abstract

The use of anesthesia in suturing perineal tears is a mother's loving care. giving anesthesia before being carried out by all midwives on the grounds that giving anesthesia can slow down wound healing. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a difference in post-healing perineal wound healing between mothers who were given anesthesia before perineal suturing and mothers who were not given anesthesia before perineal suturing. The type of research is pre-experimental, intact group comparison research design. The sample in this study was a total of 6 people, the sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data analysis was carried out using the Independent T statistical test, the study was conducted from March 10-May 10, 2024 at Padang Pariaman Hospital. The results showed that the healing time for wounds using anesthesia was 10 days while the healing time for wounds not using anesthesia was 6 days. The results of the bivariate analysis can be concluded that there is a difference in wound healing between mothers who were given anesthesia before the perineal suturing procedure and mothers who were not given anesthesia before the perineal suturing procedure with a value of P = 0.013 (<0.05). Health workers should improve their skills in obstetrics, especially in handling perineal ruptures so that they can reduce the risk of infection in postpartum mothers.

Anemia in adolescents is a major global health problem that needs adequate attention. In 2019, the prevalence of anemia among women aged 15-49 worldwide was 29.9%. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia in 2019 was 84.6% in the adolescent age group (15-24 years). The cause of iron anemia is a lack of hemoglobin in red blood cells. Efforts to reduce the incidence of anemia by increasing iron levels, one of which is the administration of steamed jukut fern containing 291.32 mg of Fe in 100 g of leaves. This study aimed to determine the effect of steaming jukut ferns (Diplazium Esculentum Swartz) on increasing hemoglobin in female adolescents at MAN 1 Model Bukittinggi City in 2020. This type of research was pre-experimental with one group pretest and posttest design. The population of all students of MAN 1 class XII was as many as 20 people, a sample of 10 people with a purposive sampling technique based on inclusion-exclusion criteria. The instrument was an observation sheet. Shapiro Wilc normality test, normally distributed data using paired sample t-test. The results of the univariate analysis were that the mean pretest HB level was 10.080 ± SD 0.4, and the mean posttest Hb level was 11,344 ± SD 0.5. Results of bivariate analysis with p-value = 0.001 (p <0.05). In conclusion, jukut fern steaming affects increasing hemoglobin levels. It is recommended that steaming jukut packs help prevent anemia optimally.

Abstract

The results of the Basic Health Research in 2018 show that the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia is 30.8%. This figure is still quite far from the WHO target of 20%. The cause of stunting is known to be due to the lack of intake absorbed by the body, both intake since the womb and after birth, so that it can cause malnutrition. One of the factors that influence malnutrition is the lack of public knowledge of healthy lifestyles and the fulfilment of optimal nutrition. One of the efforts to fulfil good nutrition from an early age is by giving complementary food at the age of 6-24 months appropriately. The purpose of this community service activity is to educate women of reproductive age and mothers of infants about the provision of proper, cheap, and nutritious complementary food based on local food for stunting prevention. The targets in this activity are 45 mothers who have children aged 6 months - 2 years or women of reproductive age in Kalisari Village, Natar District, South Lampung. The methods applied in this counselling activity include: 1) measurement of knowledge about complementary food and how to give it; 2) counselling about complementary food; 3) discussion and question and answer; 4) final evaluation. This service activity was carried out on 15 March 2024. Counselling on complementary feeding and the use of local food ingredients as an appropriate source of complementary food as an effort to prevent stunting needs to be held regularly, so that mothers' knowledge about complementary feeding and the use of local food ingredients can be improved.
