Abstract

Management of euryhaline species, such as Anguillid eel, is very important. Anguillid eel is an important economic fish which the partly of its life cycle spent in inland waters then migrates into the ocean for spawning. The objective of this study is to identify the morphological diversity and length-weight relationship of Anguillid eels in this province. The total of 148 individuals of elver and adult Anguillid eels were caught was identified using the comparison of ano-dorsal with total length parameter. Cluster analysis was obtained based on measurement of morphometric parameter. The current work used cluster analysis and dendrogram to group the population characteristic of Anguilla eel. It revealed that in the Jenggalu, Kungkai and Manna rivers of Bengkulu province, there are two groups of Anguilla eel with significant difference of ano-dorsal length. The value of the ano-dorsal varied from 2.56 ± 1.54 and 17.78 ± 1.33 for A.bicolor bicolor and A.marmorata, respectively. The length-weight relationships between total length (TL) and weight (W) for Anguilla bicolor and A.marmorata were found to be highly significant (r2 > 0.94, p < 0.001). The average value of 'b' for length and weight were higher than 3, i.e., 3.2677 and 3.4821 in A.bicolor and A.marmorata respectively which indicated a positive allometric growth trend of this species in the studied area.

Abstract

Land use-land cover (LULC) is one of the indicators commonly used in monitoring the quality of natural resources. Most of the Ogan watershed is a peat ecosystem that plays an important role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem and water supply. During the 2014-2019 period the Ogan watershed experienced several wildfires and infrastructure development, particularly freeways. This study aims to analyze changes in the LULC in the Ogan watershed during the 2014-2019 period. LULC analysis uses remote sensing technology by utilizing Sentinel and Landsat satellite imagery data. LULC identification used the visual image interpretation method, while LULC changes were analyzed using the GIS technique with the spatial overlay method. The results showed that changes in LULC led to the LULC managed class, where the increase in area occurred in the rubber and oil palm plantation classes. Meanwhile, the highest reduction in area occurred in the dry land forest class. Changes in LULC that occurred during the observation period had a negative impact on the watershed in the form of land degradation, decreased levels of biodiversity and increased fire vulnerability. Based on these results, land use in the Ogan watershed needs to be controlled and land management practices must pay attention to environmental sustainability aspects.

Abstract

Kopi Pagar Alam merupakan salah satu kopi Besemah dari Sumatera Selatan. Tujuan penelitian pada paper ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan profil dan karakter usaha tani kopi di Kota Pagar Alam berdasarkan descriptive statistics, nilai korelasi, dan representasi grafik berupa histogram dan matrix plot. Faktor-faktor yang mencerminkan profil dan karakter usaha tani kopi yang diteliti meliputi profil, karakter, dan kinerja petani, keadaan lahan, penggunaan tenaga kerja, produksi, dan faktor eksternal.  Pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan purposive sampling pada 214 petani kopi yang memiliki lahan dan terlibat langsung dalam pengolahan lahan. Secara umum, mayoritas responden berusia produktif, belajar bertani dan kepemilikan lahan dari keluarga secara turun temurun, pola bertani tunggal, motivasi usaha dan motivasi kerja yang cukup tinggi, dan budaya kerjanya termasuk sedang atau mendekati rendah. Jumlah tenaga kerja dalam keluarga lebih banyak terlibat daripada tenaga kerja di luar keluarga. Pengetahuan petani terhadap penting atau kurang pentingnya faktor-faktor lingkungan pada tanaman kopi lebih beragam. Pada matrix plot, mayoritas responden mempunyai nilai variabel horizontal pada suatu interval tertentu dan mempunyai nilai variabel vertikal yang bervariasi, sehingga korelasi antara kedua variabel rendah. Korelasi yang tinggi terjadi pada hubungan antara umur dengan lama bertani kopi, dan juga antara produksi rata-rata 1 pohon dengan produktivitas lahan. Hasil descriptive statistics berupa histogram dari variabel-variabel tersebut dapat digunakan untuk analisis lebih lanjut, terutama untuk analisis korespondensi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan, motivasi, dan lingkungan kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 80 karyawan PT. Thamrin Brothers Yamaha Palembang. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Analisis Komponen Utama dan Analisis Regresi Komponen Utama. Dari hasil analisis komponen utama diperoleh satu komponen utama bersama yaitu komponen utama internal (kemampuan, motivasi, dan lingkungan kerja) yang dipertahankan dengan kontribusi keragaman 72,193%. Hasil pemodelan menunjukkan bahwa satu komponen utama bersama tersebut berpengaruh nyata terhadap kinerja karyawan perusahaan dengan koefisien determinasi 42,8%. Secara parsial, komponen utama internal berpengaruh nyata terhadap kinerja karyawan sebesar 48,5%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, maka peningkatan kinerja karyawan berdasarkan komponen utama internal dapat dilakukan dengan meningkatkan, berturut-turut, motivasi kerja, kemampuan kerja, dan lingkungan kerja.

Abstract

Workers are required to receive Occupational Safety and Health protection. Work accidents can be influenced by physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychological factors. Natural rubber factory is one of the industries that have risks to these factors. This study used a cross-sectional design. Data analysis used the CHAID (Chi-Square Automatic Interaction) method. P value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. The results of the study showed that the average concentration of H2S in the air and in solids was above the quality standard and the average concentration of H2S in water was still below the quality standard. The average concentration of NH3 in water and in solids is above the quality standard and the average concentration of NH3 in the air is still below the quality standard. The results of the CHAID method analysis showed that glucose levels were associated with impaired liver function (p = 0.000; chi square = 48.766) and the risk of H2S exposure in the air with impaired liver function (p = 0.007; chi square = 7.944). In addition, 3 segments of liver function disorders were also found, namely Segment 1: Workers with abnormal BBS levels, high air exposure H2S; segment 2: Workers with abnormal glucose levels, low air exposure H2S; segment 3: Workers with normal glucose levels. Based on this segment, it was also found that the percentage of risk of experiencing liver function disorders were workers in segment 2 (36.3%) and segment 1 (17.4%).

Abstract

Many factors affect the low coffee production, including the lack of knowledge and education of farmers about weed control and proper maintenance of coffee plants. Herbicide reductant is a product made from organic as an herbicide-reducing agent so that it can reduce herbicide residue in agricultural areas while being more economical. The community service program aims to socialize and provide knowledge to coffee farmers about the importance of environmentally friendly coffee plantation land cultivation, especially in reducing the dose of herbicides used in weed control. The implementation of the activity was carried out through field studies by filling out questionnaires and interviews in Rimba Candi Village, Dempo Tengah District, Pagar Alam City. Field studies are also a means of socializing environmentally friendly agricultural land processing methods. Coffee farmers have realized the importance of using reducing herbicides for weed control and can apply herbicides properly, at the right dose, at the right target, in the right way, and at the right time. The majority of farmers are better educated than the use of reducing agents can overcome weed control problems more efficiently and effectively, so as to minimize the negative impact of coffee cultivation.

Abstract

Abstract Limestone mining activities at PT. Semen Baturaja Persero, Tbk use blasting activity that produces ground vibrations. Based on the measurement result on vibration level, the maximum value for vibration is 4.66 mm/s. The results of the data show that the level of emission has exceeded the standard limits for second class buildings (3 mm/s) based on (SNI) 7571: 2010 while the blasting activity is only 175-300 m from the nearest settlement. Fault Tree Analysis is used to analyze undesired events in a system or work set. Reconstruction of Fault Tree Analysis with Boolean algebra yields 5 event combinations that have the highest chance of generating ground vibrations. The event with the highest failure rate is X11 (the number of bursting holes simultaneously) with failure rate of 0.813 and X12 (fast timing delay) with failure rate (0.750). The USBM formulation obtained 3 mm/s vibration results when the number of bursting holes was reduced from 5 holes to 2 holes/delays with a quantity of 43 kg/delay. Based on Shotplus simulation, the company is advised to replace the blasting delay system from electricity to electronics to produce minimal explosion of ground vibration so as not to damage the environment.Keywords: Blasting, flyrock, Vibration, powder factor Abstrak (Indonesian) Proses peledakan batu kapur di PT. Semen Baturaja Persero, Tbk, menghasilkan efek peledakan berupa getaran tanah. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran terhadap tingkat getaran didapatkan nilai maksimum untuk getaran sebesar 4.66 mm/s. Hasil data menunjukkan tingkat geraran telah melebihi batas standar untuk bangunan kelas dua 3 mm/s (SNI) 7571:2010, sementara kegiatan peledakan hanya berjarak 175-300 m dari pemukiman terdekat. Fault Tree Analysis digunakan untuk menganalisis kejadian (undesired event) yang tidak diinginkan dalam sebuah sistem atau rangkaian pekerjaan. Rekonstruksi Fault Tree Analysis dengan analisis aljabar Boolean menghasilkan 5 kombinasi event yang memiliki peluang tertinggi untuk menghasilkan getaran tanah. Event dengan tingkat kegagalan tinggi adalah event X11(jumlah lubang meledak bersamaan) dengan laju kegagalan 0.813 dan X12 (delay timing cepat) dengan laju kegagalan (0.750). Formulasi USBM memperoleh hasil getaran 3 mm/s apabila jumlah lubang yang meledak bersamaan direduksi dari 5 lubang menjadi 2 lubang perdelay dengan kuantitas 43 kg/delay. Berdasarkan simulasi softwate shotplus perusahaan disarankan untuk mengganti sistem delay peledakan dari listrik menjadi elektronik untuk menghasilkan peledakan yang minim getaran tanah sehingga tidak merusak lingkungan.

Abstract

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is one of the pollutants in the air. One of the industries that cause H2S odor is the natural rubber industry. Exposure to H2S has an impact on increasing blood sugar levels. High blood sugar levels can lead to diabetes. Diabetes mellitus can increase risks such as myocardial infarction, stroke, kidney failure, lower extremity amputation and vision loss. Based on this, the authors are interested in studying the impact of exposure to H2S gas on blood glucose levels in crumb rubber factory workers in the city of Palembang. This study is a cross-sectional analysis. The study was conducted at the crumb rubber factory in Palembang City in March 2020. The sampel this study with a total of 215 workers. Data analysis using chi square with p <0.05. The results of the analysis concluded that there was no relationship between age (pV=0.758), gender (pV=0.532), smoking (pV=1,000), body mass index (pV=0.571), exposure to H2S gas (pV=0.772) with blood glucose levels. This is probably because the main role of H2S in the pancreas is to protect pancreatic B cells and regulate insulin secretion. H2S can protect pancreatic b cells in the following three ways: (1) reducing ROS production; (2) inhibits the expression of thioredoxin binding protein-2-a redox protein associated with diabetes that promotes apoptosis; and (3) increased GSH content, all of which reduce oxidative stress damage.

Abstract

Desa Tanjung Gelam dan beberapa desa di sekitarnya merupakan salah satu sentra kue semprong dan kerupuk, terutama kerupuk panggang. Produk yang dijual semuanya hampir sama. Packing produk kue semprong ini relatif masih sangat sederhana dan kurang menjamin bahwa produk dapat lebih tahan lama. Tujuan kegiatan PPM ini adalah untuk memberi penyuluhan/pelatihan kepada khalayak sasaran tentang packing kemasan produk yang dapat menghasilkan performa yang menarik, menjaga ketahanan produk supaya lebih awet, aman, dan kue tidak mudah hancur, serta menunjukkan brand produk termasuk informasi narahubung dan promosi produk. Juga memberi ide dan pengetahuan mengenai inovasi varian rasa dan bentuk kue semprong kekinian pada packing, serta mengenalkan cara penjualan produk kue semprong melalui digital marketing. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa penyuluhan dan implementasi pemasaran melalui digital marketing. Hasil kegiatan dapat menambah wawasan khalayak mengenai usaha jual beli, tantangan dan hambatan usaha, produk sejenis yang diperjual belikan secara online di beberapa platform marketplace, dan tips keberlanjutan usaha menghadapi perkembangan pemasaran.

Abstract

Kopi merupakan salah satu komoditas perkebunan unggulan yang ada di Indonesia. Sumatera Selatan merupakan provinsi dengan luas areal dan hasil produksi kopi terbesar di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk memperoleh model regresi data panel pada faktor-faktor yang menentukan produksi kopi pada 12 kabupaten/kota di Sumatera Selatan tahun 2015-2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan data dari Direktorat Jenderal Perkebunan Kementerian Pertanian Indonesia. Estimasi model regresi data panel dilakukan dengan menggunakan tiga model yaitu Common Effect Model (CEM), Fixed Effect Model (FEM), dan Random Effect Model (REM). Pemilihan model terbaik dilakukan dengan tiga pengujian yaitu uji Chow, uji Hausman dan uji Lagrange Multiplier. Model terbaik yang terpilih yaitu FEM dengan efek individu. Hasil estimasi FEM menunjukkan variabel luas lahan Tanaman Menghasilkan  berpengaruh positif dan mampu menjelaskan total produksi kopi di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan sebesar 85,91%. Model regresi data panel dari FEM adalah  , dengan  merupakan efek individu/wilayah yang menjadi pembeda kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan.  Kata kunci:  efek individu, Fixed Effect Model, produksi kopi, regresi data panel
