Abstract

The problem in implementing STEAM learning is that teachers have difficulty integrating all STEAM elements into one activity or learning activity in the classroom. This research aims to analyze how the implementation of the STEAM learning approach with loose part media affects the collaboration skills of early childhood. This type of research is qualitative research, using qualitative descriptive methods and a case study approach. This research uses observation, interview and documentation data collection methods. The instruments used were observation sheets and interview sheets. The informant for this research was the group B teacher. Then, to validate the data, data analysis techniques were used in the form of triangulation, which consists of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the STEAM learning approach assisted by loose part media in Kindergarten has been implemented well. Teachers have carried out learning activities through the stages of planning, implementation and evaluation. It is hoped that the implications of this research will be material for study and evaluation for teachers who will implement STEAM-based learning in kindergarten.

Abstract

Kindergarten teachers experience obstacles and difficulties when developing appropriate media to stimulate the concentration of children aged 5-6 years. Children find it very difficult to concentrate and their minds are easily distracted. Therefore, activities are needed that can train children's concentration skills. The purpose of this study was to prove the effectiveness of the hit and jump circuit game for children aged 5-6 years. This type of research is development research. The research model used is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of this study were 20 kindergarten children. This study used a questionnaire collection method and used an observation questionnaire (non-test). The instruments used were observation sheets and questionnaire sheets. The data analysis technique used was quantitative descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. The results of the effectiveness test obtained a tcount of 33.65. Then ttable with db = n-1 = 20-1 = 19. The ttable value for db 19 with a significance level of 5% (α = 0.05) is 1.685. Thus, the results of the analysis can be compared that tcount is greater than ttable so that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. So it can be concluded that the hit and jump circuit game is effectively applied to stimulate the concentration of children aged 5-6 years. The implications of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers in kindergartens in choosing activities that can stimulate children's concentration.

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students in IPAS subjects in the third grade of elementary school, particularly in the material on the life cycle of living things, is the main focus of this study. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of the Fun Thinkers Book, a context-based learning tool, as an educational aid to improve student learning outcomes. The research design employed is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE model, which consists of the following stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects include one class of third-grade students. Data collection techniques were conducted through questionnaires and documentation of learning outcomes, using instruments such as expert validation questionnaires and learning outcome tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results of the study indicate that the use of the Fun Thinkers Book significantly improves students' IPAS learning outcomes. This media proved effective in presenting material in a contextual and engaging manner, as well as encouraging active student participation during the learning process. This study concluded that the Fun Thinkers Book media, based on a contextual approach, is suitable and effective for supporting improvements in student learning outcomes in IPAS. Implicitly, this media can serve as an innovative learning strategy alternative in creating a more meaningful and enjoyable learning environment.

Abstract

Students have very low literacy skills. This is because the supporting media is still conventional in syllable learning activities. Based on this, this study aims to develop educated learning media to improve the literacy of reading and writing of grade I elementary school students. This type of research is research and development or Research and Development using the ADDIE model. The subjects of the study were three experts consisting of 2 material experts, 2 media experts, and 2 practitioners. The subjects of the product trial included individual trials of 3 students and small group trials of 6 students. The subjects of the product trial included individual trials of 3 students and small group trials of 6 students. The data collection method used the observation method and questionnaire. The data collection instrument used a rating scale. The data analysis techniques were quantitative descriptive data analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis, and inferential statistics. The study's results were the assessment of learning material experts, namely 91%, who had very good qualifications. The evaluation of learning media experts was 96% in very good qualifications. The results of the practicality test from the teacher obtained a percentage of 93.2%. The results of individual trials were 94%, and the results of small group trials were 95% with very good qualifications. The t-test results showed a significant difference in student learning outcomes before and after participating in learning using educational learning media. Thus, the use of educational media is effective in improving students' reading and writing literacy.

Abstract

Mathematics education is regarded as a key to unlocking promising career opportunities for students and preparing them to compete in the field of technology; however, the expected innovative learning process has not been fully realized. One contributing factor is the lack of appropriate, engaging, and interactive learning media to help students understand the topic of fraction subtraction. This gap has resulted in low student interest and comprehension regarding the material. This study aimed to design and develop an audiovisual learning medium using VideoScribe for fifth-grade elementary students, and then evaluate the validity of the developed media. The research employed the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate), with data collected through questionnaires. Validation involved subject matter experts, media experts, and education practitioners. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods with a five-point scale. The validation results indicated average scores of 4.5 (subject expert), 4.66 (media expert), and 4.86 (practitioner), demonstrating that the media is valid and feasible. The media follows a systematic structure, adopts a concrete-to-abstract approach, and integrates character values aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. Further development is recommended, including interactive features, field trials, and application to additional mathematics topics.

Abstract

Not all new students are able to understand letters or reading materials effectively. Many first-grade elementary school students still face challenges in learning to read. This study aims to develop a digital comic learning media designed to improve the reading skills of first-grade elementary school students, particularly on the topic of "Forgiveness." The research type is developmental research using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The research subjects included material experts, media experts, and educational practitioners. The trial subjects consisted of first-grade students, involving an individual trial with three students and a small group trial with nine students. Data collection methods utilized a rating scale with a questionnaire as the instrument. The data analysis technique employed both quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that the evaluation of the material and media tests using Aiken's V formula yielded a percentage of 98%, categorized as "very good." Additionally, the practitioner test analysis indicated a 100% percentage with a "very good" qualification. The individual trial results showed a 100% score, categorized as "very practical." Based on these findings, it can be concluded that digital comic learning media is feasible to be used in learning to enhance the reading skills of first-grade elementary school students.
