Abstract

The objectives of the study were to find out the students’ perceptions on: (1) the challenges of studying of learning Mathematics and Science using English as medium of instruction (EMI) at the International Class Program (ICP) of Mathematics Department of the State University of Makassar (UNM); (2) their strategies in learning English at the ICP program. The study applied qualitative research design. Semi structure interview was used to collect data. The participants were the students from Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry Department who are studying at International Class Program of Mathematics and Science Faculty in 2025 academic year. The data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s qualitative data analysis. The study discovered that students who are studying at ICP experienced several challenges, namely language related which consisted of lack of general vocabulary, lack of technical vocabulary, reading comprehension problem, and listening comprehension problem and content related challenges. To overcome these, students employed a variety of strategies such as utilizing dictionary, taking notes, peer/group learning, and utilizing technology. Detailed findings will be presented and their implications discussed

Abstract

Hutan Mangrove Tongke-tongke di Kecamatan Sinjai Timur memiliki peran vital dalam ekosistem pesisir dan keberlangsungan kehidupan manusia dan biodiversitas. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan waktu, lahan mangrove di wilayah ini memperoleh ancaman seperti degradasi lingkungan, peningkatan aktivitas manusia, dan perubahan iklim. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan menilai kualitas lahan mangrove di hutan mangrove Tongke-tongke, Desa Tongke-tongke, Kecamatan Sinjai Timur, Kabupaten Sinjai untuk memahami dampak degradasi dan risiko yang mengancam ekosistem ini. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu analisis data berbasis GIS dengan menggunakan citra Landsat 8 OLI serta 3 parameter penentu kualitas lahan yaitu penggunaan lahan, kerapatan vegetasi, dan ketahanan tanah terhadap abrasi. Teknik analisis penggunaan lahan dilakukan dengan metode klasifikasi terbimbing (supervised classification), kerapatan vegetasi ditentukan dari nilai Indeks Vegetasi Ternormalisasi (NDVI), sedangkan ketahanan tanah terhadap abrasi diperoleh melalui klasifikasi jenis tanah, yang selanjutnya diproses dengan metode tumpang tindih berbobot (weighted overlay) menggunakan ArcGIS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lahan mangrove di Hutan Mangrove Tongke-tongke mengalami tingkat kerusakan yang cukup serius dimana 24,8% (5,5 hektar) lahan mangrove dalam kondisi rusak berat, 67,6% (15 hektar) dalam kondisi rusak dan hanya 7,6% (1,7 hektar) yang kondisinya baik, sehingga perlu adanya kebijakan untuk mengambil tindakan yang tepat dalam mengatasi masalah ini guna mengembalikan kelestarian mangrove di Hutan Mangrove Tongke-tongke.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is severe menstrual pain that causes a woman to visit a doctor or self-medicate by taking pain relievers. The impact that can be caused by dysmenorrhea is related to the quality of life, especially health and work productivity. This study aims to find out things related to the occurrence of dysmenorrhea in female students of the Faculty of Medicine, Bosowa University, in the academic year 2022-2023. The research method used is analytic observational with a case-control research design. This research was conducted on 134 female students, consisting of 67 case samples and 67 control samples. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test and 95% CI odds ratio test. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between the age of menarche and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, there was a relationship between body mass index and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, there was a relationship between the duration of menstruation and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, there is no relationship between stress levels and the occurrence of dysmenorrhea, and there is a relationship between family history with the occurrence of dysmenorrhea. This study concludes that there is a relationship between menarche age, body mass index, menstrual duration, and family history with the occurrence of dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of role conflict and work stress on employee performance. This type of research is explanatory. This research was conducted at PT. Wahana Lestari Investama, with a population in this study totaling 430 people. The sample studied amounted to 60 people obtained by using the purposive sampling method with the criteria of being female employees who are married and have children. The measurement scale used is the Likert scale. Data in this study were collected by distributing questionnaires to respondents. The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is multiple regression with the help of the SPSS tool. The results showed that the role conflict had a significant negative effect on employee performance, and work stress had a significant negative effect on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of work environment and career development on employee performance at the BPJS Kesehatan Ambon Branch Office. The population involved in this study were 35 employees at BPJS Kesehatan Ambon Branch, who were randomly selected as the research sample. The tool used to collect data is a questionnaire designed to extract information about the variables of Work Environment, Career Development, and Employee Performance. Validity, reliability, normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, multiple linear regression analysis, t-test, f-test, and coefficient of determination were used to analyze the data. -The findings show that employee performance and work environment at BPJS Ambon Branch have a positive and significant relationship. In addition, at the BPJS Ambon Branch office, there is a noteworthy and positive correlation between employee performance and Career Development. In general, the Ambon Branch BPJS office sees a simultaneous influence between employee performance and work environment. -The findings show that the physical work environment contributes 47.7% to employee performance based on the coefficient of determination (R2).

Abstract

Stres kerja merupakan faktor penting bagi bisnis, terutama karena hubungannya dengan kinerja pekerja. Sebuah perusahaan harus berkinerja baik untuk menghasilkan keuntungan. Tingkat kinerja yang tinggi adalah ideal. Sebaliknya, kinerja yang menurun dapat merugikan bisnis. Tidak diragukan lagi, setiap karyawan akan mengalami stres yang berhubungan dengan pekerjaan.Data kuantitatif dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk penelitian ini. Uji validitas, reliabilitas, dan uji Asumi tradisional digunakan dalam pengujian variabel. Sebanyak 83 responden menjadi sampel penelitian, dan SPSS 20 for Windows digunakan untuk menganalisis data menggunakan regresi linier berganda.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor lingkungan, faktor organisasi, dan faktor individu memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap stres kerja yang dikategorikan sangat kuat. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (PERSERO) Tbk. berupaya untuk menurunkan stres kerja karyawan agar tingkat stres yang dialami berada pada titik ideal yang dapat memaksimalkan kinerja karyawan dengan cara meningkatkan kesejahteraan karyawan, baik kesejahteraan finansial maupun non finansial.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menentukan faktor-faktor yang memiliki dampak paling signifikan pada kinerja karyawan di Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP) Pratama Makassar Utara. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga akan mengevaluasi pengaruh disiplin kerja dan kompetensi secara bersamaan maupun terpisah terhadap kinerja pegawai.  Purposive sampling digunakan untuk memilih sampel, dan 77 karyawan dipilih secara acak. Karyawan yang dianggap sesuai dengan penelitian yang dilakukan diberikan kuesioner sebagai bagian dari metode pengumpulan data. Dengan bantuan perangkat lunak SPSS 20, data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan enam rumus: analisis regresi linier berganda, analisis korelasi, uji t, uji F, uji dominan, dan uji koefisien determinasi (R2).               Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, di Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP) Pratama Makassar Utara, kompetensi dan disiplin kerja secara bersamaan maupun terpisah memiliki dampak yang signifikan pada kinerja pegawai. Disiplin kerja dan kompetensi menunjukkan koefisien regresi positif (+), menandakan hubungan yang positif. Dengan kata lain, kedua variabel tersebut akan meningkatkan kinerja pegawai di Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP) Pratama Makassar Utara. Terdapat korelasi kuat (r = 0,867) dan koefisien determinasi (0,752) antara disiplin kerja, kompetensi, dan kinerja pegawai di Kantor Pelayanan Pajak (KPP) Pratama Makassar Utara. Selanjutnya, disiplin kerja merupakan variabel yang memiliki pengaruh signifikan paling besar terhadap kinerja pegawai.

Abstract

Minat para mahasiswa untuk menjadi seorang pengusaha terlihat semakin besar dengan semakin banyak lahirnya bisnis-bisnis baru yang ada sekarang. Salah satu tantangan Perguruan tinggi adalah tidak saja menghasilkan lulusan sarjana yang memiliki kompetensi secara akademik namun juga menghasilkan lulusan yang mempunyai kemampuan soft skills.Untuk menumbuhkan minat usaha pada generasi muda, diperlukan ajakan yang bersifat pendidikan dan pengalaman melalui pelatihan kewirausahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah presentasi dan diskusi. Berdasarkan hasil monitoring selama proses pelatihan, maka diketahui bahwa peserta/mahasiswa sudah memiliki niat dan semangat dalam berwirausaha. Setelah melalui wawancara secara singkat, maka peserta mengatakan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan kewirausahaan ini memberikan pengetahuan baru dan menambah kesadaran pentingnya berwirausaha.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the influence and how big an impact work discipline and emotional intelligence have on the level of performance produced by employees of J&T Express Kebun Cengkeh Ambon, a company that provides goods delivery services. A descriptive approach was used to test hypotheses or answer questions about the research subject, with the research focus on J&T Express Kebun Cengkeh employees, totaling 36 people.Using a saturated sampling method, this approach involves the entire population of J&T Express Kebun Cengkeh employees as the main sample. The likert scale is the main measuring tool used by distributing questionnaires to respondents. In processing the collected data, multiple regression analysis was driven by SPSS statistical software as the main tool. Interesting research results show that work discipline has a positive and significant influence on performance, while emotional intelligence makes a positive but not significant contribution to employee performance. This research not only presents findings but also brings an in-depth understanding of the interaction between work discipline, emotional intelligence, and performance in the context of human resource management.
