Abstract

Peraturan menteri pendidikan nasional (Permendiknas) No. 22 tahun 2006, menyatakan bahwa substansi mata pelajaran IPA pada SMP/MTs merupakan IPA terpadu. MTs Negeri 1 Semarang belum menerapkan pembelajaran IPA terpadu, sehingga diperlukan bahan ajar IPA terpadu yang dapat mendukung pembelajaran IPA terpadu. Berdasarkan latar belakang masalah, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kelayakan LKS IPA model reconstruction berbantuan komputer dan (2) keefektifan LKS model reconstruction berbantuan komputer dalam pembelajaran. Bentuk penelitian yang dilaksanakan adalah penelitian pengembangan. Hasil validasi LKS dinilai berdasarkan profil dari komponen isi, bahasa dan penyajian dengan aturan penetapan yang diadaptasi dari BSNP (2007) menunjukan bahwa LKS model reconstruction termasuk kriteria layak. Uji keefektifan LKS model reconstruction berbantuan komputer menggunakan uji N gain dan ketuntasan klasikal menunjukkan pembelajaran menggunakan LKS model reconstruction berbantuan komputer memiliki efektifitas sedang. Based on minister of national education (Permendiknas) No. 22 Year 2006, the substance of Scinece lesson in SMP/MTs was integrated Science. MTs 1 Semarang had not applied integrated Science learning. Based on the background, this research was aimed to discover; (1) the properness of reconstruction model Science worksheet using computer and (2) the effectiveness of reconstruction model worksheet using computer on learning process. The type of this research was development research. The result of worksheet validation which was assessed based on the profil of content elements, language and presentation with determining rules adapted from BSNP (2007) showed that reconstruction model worksheet belonged to proper criteria. The effectiveness test of reconstruction model worksheet using computer with N gain test showed that learning using reconstruction model worksheet using computer had medium effectiveness.

Abstract

Hasil analisis perolehan nilai siswa kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri 2 Magelang, menunjukkan bahwa pada tema optik dan penglihatan, hanya 61% siswa yang memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan. Hal ini menunjukkan kurangnya pemahaman siswa, sehingga diperlukan alat tes yang dapat mendiagnosis tingkat kemampuan siswa dalam memahami konsep yang diajarkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development, yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-diagnostic test berbasis web, yang layak digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa pada ranah kognitif, khususnya tema optik dan penglihatan.. Validasi oleh pakar instrumen tes dan media berturut-turut ialah 95,83% dan 94,44% dan termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Angket tanggapan siswa pada skala kecil sebesar 78%, skala luas 87%, dan implementasi 90%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang memenuhi kriteria kelulusan minimal hanya 6 orang, dari jumlah keseluruhan 22 siswa. Konsep yang paling rendah presentase tingkat pemahamannya ialah indikator 1 (mengetahui definisi dan sifat cahaya), dan indikator 2 (memahami syarat dan proses terjadinya pemantulan dan pembiasan cahaya). Pada pengetahuan definisi dan sifat cahaya, 36% siswa mengalami misunderstanding, dan 50% siswa mengalami instrumental understanding. Pada pemahaman syarat dan proses terjadinya pemantulan dan pembiasan cahaya, 36% siswa mengalami misunderstanding, dan 20% mengalami instrumental understanding. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa e-diagnostic test telah layak digunakan untuk mendiagnosis tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa. The science score analysis’ result of the 8th grade students’ in 2 Magelang Junior High School showed that there were only 61% of student who is achieved the criterion referenced. It shows the lackness of understanding by the students, so then we need a test instrument which is could diagnose their ability to understanding the concepts that have been tought. This research is aimed to develop e-diagnostic test on web-based, which is proper to be used to identifying the students’ understanding in cognitive domain, especially in optic and vision topic. Students’ capability and weakness are directly known, so then teacher could gives an appropriate feedback to each student. Validation of test instrument and media are showing the result 95,83% and 94,44%, which is included in a very appropriate category. Students’ questionnaire is showing result 78% on the small class stage, 87% on wide class, and 90% on implementation. The research result was showing that only 6 students who could pass the criterion referenced. The lowest percentage of concept understanding are the first indicator (Understanding the light’s definition and characteristics), and the second indicator (conceiving the requirements and the process of the light’s reflection and refraction). 36% students are on misunderstanding phase, and 50% are on instrumental understanding, in the ability of understanding the light’s definition and characteristics. 36% students are on misunderstanding phase, and 20% are on instrumental understanding, in the ability of conceiving the requirement and the process of the light’s reflection and refraction. This research result was showing that e-diagnostic test is able to diagnose the concept understanding of the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan medai audiovisual terhadap minat dan hasil belajar siswa SMP kelas VIII tema energi dalam sistem kehidupan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua kelas VIII SMP N 2 Sulang, sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII A dan VIII C diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata minat kelas eksperimen sebesar 83,37% sedangkan rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 79,02%. Siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan media audiovisual rata-rata minat belajarnya lebih tinggi dibanding dengan rata-rata minat kelas kontrol. Dengan minat belajar yang tinggi tentu memiliki hasil belajar yang tinggi pula. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding dengan rata-rata belajar kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memiliki rata-rata hasil belajar sebesar 83,82 sedangkan rata-rata hasil belajar kelas kontrol sebesar 78,43. Sama halnya dengan ketuntasan klasikal kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil analisis rata-rata minat belajar siswa diperoleh t hitung sebesar 1,98 dan t tabel sebesar 1,68. Berdasarkan  rata-rata hasil belajar siswa diperoleh hasil t hitung sebesar 1,965 dan t tabel sebesar 1,68 sehingga dapat disimpulkan dari kedua analisis di atas bahwa  penggunaan media ausio visual efektif terhadap minat belajar siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of audio-visual media against interest and student learning outputs junior class VIII theme of energy in living systems. Population in this research is all class VIII SMP N 2 Sulang, samples were students of class VIII A and VIII C is taken by purposive sampling technique. The design of this study was Quasi Experimental Design with design Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results showed that the average interest of 83.37% experimental class while the average grade of 79.02% control. Students are taught using audio-visual media interest in learning on average higher than average interest in the control class. With a high learning interest certainly has a high learning outputs as well. This is indicated by the average results of experimental class learning higher than the average of the control class learning. Experimental class has an average of learning outputs of 83.82 while the average learning outputs control class is 78.43. Similarly, the classical completeness experimental class is higher than the control class. Based on the average results of the analysis of student interest earned of 1.98 t and t table at 1.68. Based on the average results of student learning results obtained t calculate equal to 1.965 and t table at 1.68 so it can be inferred from the above analysis that the use of audiovisual media effective against the interest of student learning and student learning outputs.

Abstract

Hasil observasi di SMPN 5 Semarang diperoleh informasi bahwa proses pembelajaran IPA kurang bisa mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Berdasarkan informasi tersebut, maka diperlukan adanya variase pembelajaran yang dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Salah satu pendekatan pembelajaran yang prosesnya dapat menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa adalah genius learning. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan genius learning untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi ekosistem. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan genius learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman konsep siswa. Desain penelitian ini ialah quasi eksperimental design dengan bentuk nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua kelas VII SMPN 5 Semarang, sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas VII C (kelas eksperimen) dan VII E (kelas kontrol) diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, metode angket dan metode tes. Analisis data yang digunakan untuk mengukur pengaruh variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat adalah korelasi product moment. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan genius learning dan variabel terikat adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis dan pemahaman konsep siswa. Pengaruh penerapan genius learning terhadap pemahaman konsep dilihat dari hasil analisis korelasi product moment (rxy) adalah 0,43 (kategori sedang) dan pengaruh genius learning terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa adalah 0,85 (kategori sangat kuat). Berdasarkan Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan penerapan genius learning berpengaruh terhadap peahaman konsep siswa dan berpengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. The result of observations in SMPN 5 Semarang obtained inforations that science learning process was less able to develop student’s critical thinking skill. Based on that inforation, it’s necessary to have learning process to develop student’s critical thinking skills. One of learning approach that can develop student’s critical thinking skills is genius learning. This research is an application of genius learning strategy for measuring student’s critical thinking skills and concept comprehension in ecosystem lesson. The reseach’s aim is knowing the influence of genius learning approach toward student’s critical thingking skills and student’s science concept comprehension. Design of this research is quasi eksperimental design using form nonequivalent control group design. Population that used is student of SMPN 5 Semarang in 7th grade. The sampel is student of class 7C (experimental class) and 7E (control class) taken by purposive sampling. For the data collection, this research used test methods, observation method and questionnaire result.To analyze the data influence of independent variable and dependent variable, was use corelation product  moment formula. Independent variable in this research is genius learning approach, and dependent variable are critical thinking skill and concept comprehension.  Influence of genius learning application concerning to concept comprehension can be seen from the analyze of correlation product moment (rxy) is 0,43 (middle category) ang influence of genius learning application concerning to critical thinking skills is 0,85 (very strong category). Based on the result, the conclusion is genius learning influential to concept comprehension and positively influential to student’s critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Pendidikan multikultur memiliki lima dimensi yang saling berkaitan, yaitu :(1). Content integration; (2). The Knowledge Construction Process; (3) An Equity Paedagogy; (4) Prejudice Reduction; (5) Exercise. Games dapat dibuat untuk mengeksplor ide-ide IPA tertentu ke permukaan sedangkan anak-anak dari segala usia suka bermain game. (Muslimin, 2012). Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran awal tentang siswa dan lingkungan yang meliputi macam-macam nilai budaya yang ada pada siswa, metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar serta media yang digunakan dalam proses belajaran mengajar. Metode pengumpulan dan analisis data yang digunakan ialah metode dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data perangkat sebelum dikembangkan, observasi untuk memperoleh data macam-macam nilai budaya yang ada pada siswa sebelum pengembangan perangkat, dan angket untuk mendapatkan data tentang metode pembelajaran, bahan ajar serta media yang digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar. Seluruh data dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan karakter yang cukup mencolok antara siswa yang berasal dari daerah pegunungan dan daerah perkotaan. Perangkat pembelajaran yang ada kurang mendukung usaha guru untuk mengaplikasikan nilai budaya yang ada di sekitar siswa dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, pembelajaran IPA yang sudah identik dengan keseriusan membuat guru jarang untuk menerapkan strategi permainan dalam pembelajaran, selain itu metode yang digunakan lebih banyak pembelajaran konvensional, bahan ajar yang digunakan kebanyakan menggunakan buku BSE dan LKS dari penerbit komersil, serta media yang digunakan mayoritas powerpoint. Games can be created to explore ideas of certain IPA to a surface while kids of all ages love to play games. (Muslim, 2012). The goal of this research was to get an initial picture of the student and the environment that includes a variety of cultural values in students, teaching methods, teaching materials and media used in the teaching learning process. Methods of data collection and analysis was using the documentation to get device data before it was developed, observations to obtain data on a variety of cultural values that exist in the students before the development of the device, and a questionnaire to obtain data on teaching methods, teaching materials and media used in teaching and learning process. All data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were differences between the characters are quite striking students from mountainous areas and urban areas. Learning device that was less support teachers' efforts to apply the cultural values that were around students in learning. In addition, learning science that has been synonymous with the seriousness of making teachers rarely to implement the strategy games in learning, in addition to the method used more conventional learning, teaching materials used were mostly books BSE and LKS of the publisher of commercial, as well as the majority media used was powerpoint.

Abstract

This research intended to obtain an initial description of students and environment on peace-loving, environmental caring, learning methods, learning materials, and learning media applied in Physics lesson at a high school; moreover, to examine the validity of high school physic learning materials and multimedia web-based physics learning tools in strengthening the students’ characters. The data collection methods employed were (1) documentation, to get the prior data of high school physic materials; (2) observation, to collect the data of students’ initial characters; (3) questionnaire, to obtain the data of learning method, teaching materials, and learning media adopted in the learning process; and (4) validation, to test the developed learning tools’ validity. The results showed that generally, the students have possessed the character of peace-loving, while they rarely owned the environmental caring. In addition, the developed learning tools achieved a good assessment and were declared valid.

Abstract

Penggunaan perangkat lunak bajakan masih dianggap biasa di kalangan masyarakat. Penggunaan perangkat lunak bajakan bisa dikurangi dengan jalan berpindah ke penggunaan perangkat lunak Open Source. Penggunaan Open Source juga bermanfaat sebagai pendorong perbaikan karakter masyarakat secara luas. Karakter yang terkait erat dan hal ini adalah sifat jujur dan menghargai nilai-nilai yang berkembang di masyarakat. Perangkat lunak open source belum banyak digunakan di SMA Negeri 12 Semarang. Keberadaan laboratorium komputer di sekolah tersebut memungkinkan untuk memperkenalkan Open Source Sofware bagi guru dan staf administrasi. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan mengadakan sosialisasi perangkat lunak Open Source di SMA N 12 Semarang. Tahap selanjutnya adalah melakukan instalasi, mengadakan pelatihan dan praktik. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini telah berhasil melakukan sosialisasi perangkat lunak open source di SMA N 12 Semarang. Para peserta juga telah berhasil menggunakan peangkat luak tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the in vitro and in vivo doses of boron neutron capture cancer therapy (BNCT) using the SHIELD-HIT12A program. To be able to determine the recoil energy, the research was conducted using the Monte Carlo method. Running data obtained the value of ionization activity and recoil lost. The results showed that in vitro and in vivo doses of BNCT for soft tissue irradiation had a value of 0.312 × 10-2 Sv, which is safe and does not harm healthy body tissue around the cancer cells because it is below the threshold of 1.5 Rem or 15 × 10-3 Sv, in accordance with the provisions of the upper value permitted by the International Commission on Radiation Protection in 1966. While the comparative targets are water, the optimal target absorption dose was obtained at concentrations of 3.232 × 10-3 Gy. The dose of carbon equivalent in water with the type of thermal neutron radiation was 16.16 × 10-3 Sv; this dose is classified as unsafe.

Abstract

Radiografi dapat digunakan untuk membantu mendiagnosis penyakit dalam bidang medis. Umumnya citra radiograf masih tampak kabur sehingga memerlukan pengolahan untuk menghilangkan atau mengurangi kekaburan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendesain perangkat lunak untuk meningkatkan kualitas citra digital foto Roentgen yaitu dengan meningkatkan kontras citra tersebut. Salah satu metode untuk meningkatkan kontras citra digital adalah dengan menggunakan metode histogram equalization. Metoda tersebut membuat tingkat keabuan citra tersebar merata pada semua tingkat keabuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metoda histogram equalization dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kontras citra.  Hal ini dapat langsung dilihat pada layar monitor.   Kata kunci: citra radiograf,  histogram equalization

Abstract

Metal organic framework-derived carbons (MOFDCs) are materials with great potential and can be used as electrochemical energy storage because these have a large surface area and pore structure that can be adapted to needs. MOFs have porous crystals in which metal ions or clusters are linked by organic ligands. The purpose of this study was to determine the physical and electrochemical properties of MOF5 synthesized at different temperatures. The MOFs synthesis method which is classified as complicated can be simplified and the use of hazardous solvents can be reduced by means of partial substitution using water solvents. To prepare MOFs can be done in several ways, such as liquid phase epitaxy, supersonic cold spraying, direct gas phase preparation, and interface-assisted synthesis. MOFs have applications in optics, sensing, catalysis, adsorption, and modeling, as well as electrochemical energy storage. Potential application as an interesting electrode material to be studied through the synthesis method. In this study, MOF5 was synthesized at temperatures between 200°C-600°C. To prepare MOF5, zinc nitrate tetrahydrate and acetic acid were dissolved in DMF (N, N-dimethyl formamide). The remaining precipitate (MOF) was immersed three times in DMF and three times in chloroform for 24 hours for each immersion.
