Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to modify PK Split Air Conditioner for water heater by utilizing condenser exhaust heat that can be used by students of Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak as a learning media in the field of fluid machinery and laboratory-scale energy conversion machines. This design is important as an effort to increase students' learning motivation, understanding, and thinking skills in the energy conversion machine course, especially air conditioners. The research process involves designing, manufacturing, modifying, and assembling the air conditioner into a water heater into a complete unit, as well as testing the tool for use as a learning medium. Data collection and analysis are carried out in accordance with the test instruments that have been prepared. The result of this research is a Split Air Conditioner learning media tool that has dual functions, namely as a water heater and air conditioner. This simulation tool can operate properly and is able to heat 60 liters of water in 60 minutes with a hot water temperature of 42.5oC. The temperature resulting from the modification of the PK split Air Conditioner into a water heater has met the SNI 03-7605-2005 standard. This Air Conditioner modification can be used as a learning medium for students and lecturers to facilitate the learning process of the Air Conditioner (AC) Energy Conversion Machine course. In addition, this tool is already feasible as a practicum tool for the performance of dual-function air conditioners.AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memodifikasi Air Conditioner Split PK untuk water heater dengan memanfaatkan panas buang kondensor yang dapat digunakan oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Teknik Mesin, Fakultas Teknik dan Ilmu Komputer Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak sebagai media pembelajaran di bidang mesin fluida dan mesin konversi energi skala laboratorium. Rancangan ini penting sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar, pemahaman, dan kemampuan berpikir mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah mesin konversi energi utamanya adalah air conditioner. Proses penelitian melibatkan perancangan, pembuatan, modifikasi, dan perakitan Air conditioner menjadi water heater menjadi satu kesatuan yang lengkap, serta pengujian alat untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Pengumpulan dan analisis data dilakukan sesuai dengan instrumen uji yang telah disiapkan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebuah alat media pembelajaran Air Conditioner Split yang difungsikan ganda yaitu sebagai water heater dan pendingin ruangan. Alat simulasi ini dapat beroperasi dengan baik dan mampu memanaskan air sebanyak 60 liter dalam waktu 60 menit dengan temperatur air panas sebesar 42,5oC. Temperatur yang dihasilkan dari modifikasi Air Conditioner split PK menjadi water heater ini sudah memenuhi standar SNI 03-7605-2005 . Modifikasi Air Conditioner ini dapat dijadikan media pembelajaran bagi mahasiswa dan dosen untuk mempermudah proses pembelajaran mata kuliah Mesin Konversi Energi Air Conditioner (AC). Selain itu, alat ini sudah layak dijadikan alat praktikum unjuk kerja Air Conditioner yang difungsikan secara ganda.

Abstract

The valve mechanism system on a 4 stroke diesel motor functions as an opening or closing mechanism which is used as a way for air to enter the combustion chamber or as an outlet for residual combustion gases from the combustion chamber. To maximize diesel engine performance, valve clearance adjustments need to be carried out periodically. This research aims to determine the effect of variations in intake valve gap adjustment on fuel consumption on the Daewoo 4 DWY-30 diesel motorbike. This research uses experimental methods and is quantitative research, namely presenting the results of experiments in the laboratory on test objects. The research results show that there is an influence of variations in intake valve gap adjustment on fuel consumption. The highest fuel consumption is at the intake valve gap setting of 0.20 mm, and the lowest fuel consumption is at the intake valve gap setting of 0.60 mm.

Abstract

Pada 2020 lalu Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayan Nadiem Makarim mengeluarkan Surat Edaran Nomor 4 Tahun 2020 tentang Pelaksanaan Kebijakan Pendidikan dalam masa darurat penyebaran virus Corona. Surat edaran ini antara lain berisi mengenai kebijakan Mendikbud mengenai pelaksanaan Ujian Nasional dan juga kebijakan mengenai Pembelajaran jarak Jauh secara daring demi mengurangi resiko penyebaran virus corona. Namun karena keterbatasan sarana dan prasarana di desa Tesbatan maka system pembelajaran masih tetap dilakukan secara luring, selain itu juga kurangnya pemahaman siswa dan juga guru terhadap media digital juga turut menghambat jalannya proses pembelajaran jarak jauh,hal ini juga disampaikan oleh R. Lembani, semakin tertinggal dan jauh suatu daerah semakin terbatas jangkauan dalam menggunakan dan memanfaatkan fasilitas teknologi yang berdampak pada diri seseorang sehingga dirasa perlu adanya upaya untuk membekali siswa dan juga guru mengenai digitalisasi (literasi digital). Berdasarkan latar belakang permasalahan diatas, maka tim PPK Ormawa Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Pengabdian Masyarakat Universitas Muhammadiyah Kupang (UKM. Pengmas UMK), kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yaitu 1) tahap persiapan, 2) tahap pemberian materi dan 3) tahap evaluasi. Hasil yang didapat adalah, dengan membawakan materi semenarik mungkin para siswa dan guru mudah untuk memahami materi dan juga konsep yang telah di berikan, pemberian games ditengah-tengah materi membuat para peserta tidak merasa bosan sama sekali.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practice of buying and selling used motorcycles with the exchange system and the practice of khiyar buying and selling used motorcycles with the exchange system in Ambawang Kuala Village. This research uses qualitative methods with empirical normative research. The data source uses primary data in the form of interviews with informants, namely sellers and buyers, while secondary data is in the form of books, journals, theses and related articles that discuss the sale and purchase of used motorcycles with the exchange system and as reinforcement for data collection. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. The technique of checking data validity is by triangulation. Data analysis techniques are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that in the practice of buying and selling used motorcycles that occurred in the field when researchers found an element of uncertainty about the used motorcycle caused by the seller himself, namely not saying and explaining in detail about the goods being traded which resulted in losses for consumers. In terms of sharia economic law, the used motorcycle trading system is in line with the concepts contained in khiyar majlis, khiyar 'aib and khiyar conditions because when the goods have defects, they can be returned on condition that the time has been determined by the exchange. There is only one motorcycle exchange that is not in accordance with khiyar syarat, where the goods have defects and can be returned unconditionally.

Abstract

The goal of the article is to improve the thermal properties and energy efficiency of the walls and facades of the buildings by introducing the phase change material in the bricks. This study focuses on the thermal insulation capabilities of a paraffin-ice bag PCM mixture, aiming to enhance the thermal inertness of the bricks. The paraffin wax exhibits a high latent heat and is chemically stable, while the ice bags, with their low temperatures, serve as effective thermal regulators. They complement each other to address challenges such as the low thermal conductivity of paraffin and the leakage of low phase change transition temperature in paraffin. We made use of two types of paraffin and ice bag PCMs in a 50:50 ratio and embedded them in standard bricks. During the experiment, we coated the brick surfaces with liquid cement to enhance the hydraulic resistance of the PCM. Next, we inserted wires known as packing plugs into the bricks and filled the holes with powders. We also subjected the bricks to heating and cooling in cycles, ensuring the temperatures remained within a specified range. During the experiment, temperature sensors were utilized to capture data concerning thermal performance. The authors reached the conclusion that PCM polymer composite bricks possess a lot of promise such walls are being able to maintain their thermal performance parameters. When PCM-enhanced bricks are utilized, temperature changes were significantly restricted, staying constant during the times of peak heating and cooling. The PCM bricks also displayed efficient absorption and gradual release of energy due to the high energy transfer rates during phase change. This study suggests that PCM polymer composite bricks are cost-effective for the energy performance of buildings.

Abstract

This research examines the effect of bricks enhancement with phase change material (PCM) consisting of paraffin on their thermal considerations. The experimental methods were aimed at investigating the mechanisms of temperature transfer throughout the thermal rounds, mimicking diurnal fluctuations of temperature. Due to the high amount of latent heat contained in paraffin a portion of it was transferred into regular bricks with temperature probes tracing the heat processes. It is shown that enhancement of bricks with PCM reduced temperature range and controlled the rate of heat transmission more than the ordinary bricks did. It was significant that the PCM-embedded bricks did not drift in heat and were able to stock up excess heat during the day and release it at night which resulted in monumental energy efficiency and comfort in thermal standing. The conversation additionally seeks to bring out the function of paraffin in insulation which does not only save energy consumption but goes forward to maintain comfortable temperatures within the building. The study finally achieved its goal and assert that energy saving with the use of PCM enhanced bricks in construction makes it a preferable material in regards to energy and the fight against climate change.

Abstract

This experiment investigates the heat transfer characteristics of an ice bag gel phase change material (PCM) incorporated within bricks. The study seeks to investigate the performance of ice bag gel as PCM in improving thermal behavior of building material. The experiment consisted of subjecting brick samples with and without ice bag gel PCM to thermal cycles in a semi-automated laboratory setup. The results indicate that ice bag gel PCM incorporated in bricks exhibited minimal changes and better heat transfer as compared to the dry bricks. It was observed that the ice bag gel PCM registered lower peak temperature and slower rates of temperature drop which means their heat storage and release characteristics were efficient. Furthermore, the ice bag gel system produced a steady radiation flux, indicating that it was able to minimize the effects of temperature variations. These results imply that ice bag gel PCM has the potential to be a green and economical option for enhancing thermal comfort and decrease energy consumption in buildings.

Abstract

Pemenuhan SDG"™s di Indonesia salah satunya ditunjang oleh sektor pertanian. Produk pertanian dengan yang menjadi perhatian adalah padi. Pertumbuhan padi di Indonesia dapat tumbuh dengan subur karena di dalam tanah memiliki kandungan unsur hara. Kandungan unsur hara penting yang dibutuhkan oleh padi agar tumbuh dengan cepat adalah nitrogen, phosporus dan kalium / potassium (NPK). Kandungan unsur NPK yang terkandung di pupuk atau tanah melalui analisis laboratorium dengan biaya yang relatif mahal dan waktu yang lama. Untuk itu perlu cara lain yakni menggunakan soil integrated sensor. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi terkait kandungan unsur hara pada lahan pertanian padi menggunakan soil integrated sensor serta lokasi menggunakan sistem informasi geografis. Parameter yang digunakan antara lain suhu tanah, kelembapan tanah, electrical conductivity, pH tanah, nitrogen, phosporus, potassium dan salinitas tanah. Parameter lain yang di dapatkan dari GPS adalah longitude, latitude, velocity, altitude serta tanggal pengukuran. Tahapan yang ada di dalam penelitian antara lain studi pustaka, pengumpulan data, analisis kebutuhan, rancangan, implementasi dan pengujian prototipe. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah prototipe berhasil mengidentifikasi kandungan unsur hara tanah, membaca semua parameter dan mengirimkan hasilnya ke Node-RED menggunakan MQTT dan menyimpan data ke MySQL. Parameter lain yang juga ikut disimpan adalah titik lokasi dari pengambilan data menggunakan GPS. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini protipe berhasil diuji coba pada lahan pertanian padi dan mengidentifikasi kandungan unsur hara. Titik-titik lokasi yang dikirimkan ke database berhasil dipetakan menggunakan Leaflet JS.

Abstract

Hydrogen gas is one of the alternative fuels that is currently being widely researched. HHO generator is a tool with the working principle of water electrolysis and is used to produce hydrogen gas. In some studies, peat water has been considered to be used as an electrolyte. This research uses experimental methods to obtain hydrogen gas results from peat water electrolysis. The electrolysis reactor used can handle as much as 400 ml of peat water. The electrodes are stainless steel (SS) with a large cross-sectional area of 0.01884 m2. The electric power used was 12 Volts DC and the time in the electrolysis process was 1 minute. Based on the results of the research that has been done, among others, where the increase in HC in the exhaust gas in Aquades water looks very efficient at the initial rotation at 2000 rpm which produces a thermal efficiency of 60% While in peat water the increase in HC in the exhaust gas in Aquades water looks very efficient at the initial rotation at 2000 rpm which produces a thermal efficiency of 90%. The influence of rpm and the unstable rotation of rpm causes the CO value in the exhaust gas of the vehicle to be unstable where at low rotation readings 223. 24 ppm, middle 634.94 ppm and top 606.89 ppm, it can be seen that in the upper round the value even decreases from the middle round, while in HHO peat water when the low round reading is 104.4 ppm, middle 101.94 ppm and top 121.29 ppm, it can be seen that in the upper round the value increases from the initial round to the top.

Abstract

AbstrakPemanas air merupakan kebutuhan penting di sektor rumah tangga dan industri, yang mendorong inovasi menuju solusi hemat energi. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi kinerja sistem pemanas air berbasis air conditioner (AC) 1 PK, yang memanfaatkan panas buangan melalui penukar panas helical coil (diameter 25 cm, 10 lilitan, pitch 2 cm). Sistem ini diuji dalam kondisi laboratorium dengan fokus pada laju perpindahan panas (), laju aliran air (), koefisien performansi (COP), dan efisiensi sistem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem berhasil meningkatkan suhu air dari 25,00°C menjadi 47,18°C dalam 135 menit, dengan  sebesar 0,688 kW, COP sebesar 0,905, dan efisiensi 81,42%. Stabilisasi suhu tercapai pada menit ke-120, menunjukkan keandalan termal dan operasional. Konfigurasi helical coil secara efektif mentransfer panas, meskipun terdapat kehilangan panas kecil akibat geometri coil dan disipasi lingkungan. Penelitian ini menyoroti potensi sistem pemanfaatan panas buangan yang terintegrasi dengan unit AC, terutama di wilayah tropis dengan penggunaan AC yang tinggi. Optimalisasi geometri coil, peningkatan isolasi tangki, dan penyesuaian laju aliran air dapat meningkatkan kinerja sistem. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan teknologi pemanas air yang berkelanjutan dan hemat energi.
