Abstract

This is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research that aims to identify the marine potential of Tarakan City which can be used as teaching material in Marine Biology courses. Search using the Publish or Perish 8 application by analyzing articles indexed by Google Scholar and Crossref. After carrying out the process of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, a total of 9 articles were obtained, consisting of 6 Google Scholar articles and 3 Crossref articles. The entire article was analyzed for its suitability with the material content in the marine biology semester learning plan (RPS). Findings of this study show that the marine biota of Tarakan City that can be used as teaching materials for marine biology are seaweed, Signus Jjavus fish, Harpadon nehereus, Ilisha elongate, Protista, and Mangroves Research locations at Amal Beach, Binalatung Beach, Mamburungan, Juata waters, Juata Laut waters, KKMB Tarakan City, and Sadau Island, Indonesia. These articles can be used as teaching material for marine biology regarding the geographical conditions of Indonesian seas, marine animals, marine plants, marine biogeochemical cycles, marine primary productivity, coastal biota, mangrove biota, and research methods for plankton, benthos, and nekton. Abstract

Indonesia is rich in biodiversity and traditional knowledge related to the use of medicinal plants. This study aims to document medicinal plant species used by the Dayak Kenyah community in Punan Gong Solok Village, North Kalimantan, and to describe their utilization patterns based on local ethnomedicinal practices. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, involving interviews, participatory observations, and plant identification. Data were collected using snowball sampling for informants and purposive sampling for plant exploration. The results revealed 46 species from 25 families used in traditional medicine, dominated by the Zingiberaceae and Araceae families. Leaves were the most commonly used plant part (33.3%), followed by tubers, roots, and stems. The plants were used to treat stomachaches, gastritis, kidney stones, external wounds, and respiratory disorders, with preparation methods including boiling, pounding, and infusion. These findings highlight the importance of preserving local knowledge as a basis for developing phytopharmaceuticals and promoting community-based conservation.

Abstract

This research was conducted to explore how the Problem-Based Learning Model can increase student participation and learning achievement. This research discusses the application of the Problem-Based Learning Model in increasing student participation and learning achievement at SMA Negeri 10 Maros in the subject of Sociology. This approach is implemented through two cycles using the Classroom Action Research method. The first cycle showed that problem-based learning required adjustments for students who were not used to it, with a learning completeness of 45.2%. The second cycle showed significant improvement, achieving a learning completeness of 77.4%. These results reflect positive changes in students' attitudes, interests, and activity, as well as an increase in their ability to complete individual and group assignments. The Problem-Based Learning Model has proven to be effective in improving the learning outcomes of sociology students, along with changes in attitudes and more active involvement in the learning process.
