The characteristics of imperfect markets are characterized by the presence of transaction costs. One sector that is an imperfect market is the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of transaction costs and the implications of transaction costs on the benefits of hybrid corn farming. The research method uses transaction cost analysis and multiple linear regression. The research was conducted in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara with 120 respondents as corn farmers. The results show that implementation costs are the component of transaction costs that have the highest percentage of 43.35%, then supervision costs are 28.37%, transportation costs are 20.61%, negotiation costs are 3.70%, information costs are 3.41% and coordination 0.57%. These transaction cost components are distributed in each hybrid corn farming cycle, among others; (1) birth cycle; (2) cropping cycle; (3) maintenance cycle; (4) supervision; (5) harvest cycle; and (6) postharvest cycle. The postharvest cycle is the cycle that has the highest percentage of 23.17%, then the maintenance cycle is 18.53%, the harvest cycle is 17.65%, the cropping cycle is 17.28% and the control cycle is 13.99%. Transaction costs have a positive and significant effect on the profits of hybrid corn farming.

Education is one way to save oneself from poverty. There are 19.5 percent of poor people in East Java who have completed education at the senior high school level and above but are still in poor condition. This study aims to examine the effect of socio-economic and regional characteristics on the status of the poor with upper secondary education in each cultural area in the province of East Java. Using the 2021 Susenas data which was analyzed with binary logistic regression, it was found that there were differences in socio-economic characteristics in each cultural area. Disability disorders and gender affect educated poverty in the Arek area but have no effect in the Pandalungan, Mataraman, and Madura Islands areas. Formal and informal sector jobs only have an effect in the Pandalungan area and have no effect in other areas. Choosing to work in the primary sector only affects the Mataraman area. While the factors of age, access to technology and use of the internet reduce the opportunities for poverty in all cultural areas. Keywords: Poverty, Logistic Regression, Susenas, educated poor, cultural area

The literature continues to debate the effects of democracy and fiscal capacity on economic growth, both partially and jointly. To remedy the literature puzzle, this study examines the economic growth effects of democracy and fiscal capacity in 34 Indonesian provinces from 2016 to 2021. Using a fixed-effect model, this study documents no evidence of a partial effect; rather, it finds a joint effect of democracy and fiscal capacity on Indonesian economic growth. These findings remain relatively robust even when provincial heterogeneity, COVID-19 pandemic shocks, and sectoral composition are factored into the model. This finding indicates that regions with democracy and strong fiscal capacity possess relatively fast per capita GRDP growth. Based on these findings, the study concludes that democracy and fiscal capacity should exist side by side. Indonesia's sub-national economic growth strategy, like a tango game, requires reforming two types of decentralization: political decentralization to improve the quality of democracy that upholds the merit system and fiscal decentralization to expand local tax capacity to finance public goods productively.

Purpose This research analyzes the determinants of environmental quality in 32 Indonesian provinces in the period between 2013-2019. Design/methodology/approach This research method used an ordinal logistic regression analysis approach where the dependent variable consists of cumulative predicate categories based on the EQI assessment interval as determined by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Findings This study finds that the per capita GDRP and poverty have positive and significant effects on the Environmental Quality Index. However, The Human Development Index and expenditures in environmental and forestry functions have negative and significant effects. Research limitations/implications                                                                                                                                                                                   Based on the findings, the local and central government, through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in cooperation with business people required to conduct the Environmental Impact Analyses, should participate in PROPER. Originality/value This study will show how the inter-components of economic development, social development, income and expenditure on environmental and forestry functions affect each category of the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) predicate.

Purpose This study aims to see the effect of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization in the fields of education, health, and the economy in the development of human resources in Eastern Indonesia. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a quantitative approach with panel data regression utilizing data from 16 provinces in Eastern Indonesia from 2010-2019. Findings According to the results, the development of human resource quality is influenced by government spending on education, health, and GRDP per capita. However, the study reveals that capital expenditure does not play a significant role in the enhancement of human resource quality. Research limitations/implications One shortcoming of this research is its lack of detailed information regarding how capital expenditures, education expenditures, and health expenditures are distributed across various local governments. Originality/value This study shows the impact of fiscal decentralization and regional autonomy by comparing the results gap that occurs between the western and eastern regions of Indonesia on human resource development

Currently, the most complete measure of community welfare is the happiness index because this measure is based on community subjectivity. This study aims to determine the effect of per capita income, minimum wage, income inequality and gross enrollment rates on the Happiness Index in Indonesia. The research objects are 34 provinces in Indonesia. The data used are secondary data for 2014, 2017 and 2021. The data source is the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics. Using the panel data regression, the results show that per capita income, income inequality, minimum wage and gross enrollment rates together have a significant effect on the happiness index. and partially the per capita income variable has no significant positive effect on the happiness index while income inequality has no significant negative effect on the happiness index, conversely the minimum wage variable and gross enrollment rate have a significant positive effect on the happiness index in Indonesia. In order to increase the happiness index, it is recommended that the provincial government periodically review the minimum wage policy, increase the gross enrollment rate and increase per capita income and reduce income inequality.

The drastic drop in prices often does not merely reflect a surge in supply which is not accompanied by an increase in demand in an equal proportion, but also reflects a supply chain that is not well developed. The purpose of this study was to analyze the supply chain and supply chain margins for maize commodity in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. The research method used a descriptive quantitative approach involving 120 corn farmers as respondents. This study uses supply chain margin analysis and Farmer's Share. The results showed that there were three types of supply chains, namely (1) Farmer-VCT-DCT-Wholesaler-PMT, (2) Farmer-DCT-Wholesaler-PMT, (3) Farmer-Wholesaler-PMT. Of the three supply chains 46% of farmers use the second supply chain, namely Farmers-DCT-Wholesaler-PMT. The supply chain that has a small margin and a high farmer's share is the third supply chain, with a supply chain margin of IDR 613 and a farmer's share of 85.22%.Keywords: Supply chain, Corn, Dompu.

Each region has its own model of economic growth, different from other regions, so planning the economic development of a region must take into account the economic, social and physical characteristics of the region itself, including its interaction with other regions. Based on data released by the Central Agency of Statistics, Papua is ranked as the province with the highest poverty rate in Indonesia at 26.80%, much higher than the national poverty rate. This study uses the Klassen Typology method and Location Quotient (LQ) analysis to group Papua Regencies/cities into several categories and to know the main sectors of Papua regencies/cities. so that economic development policies can be more targeted according to the potential of each region. In this study, it is known that most regencies/cities in Papua Province are categorized as (relatively) underdeveloped regions and it is also known that the most basic sectors in Papua are agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Based on these results, it is expected that the Regency / city governments in Papua Province pay special attention, especially to areas in the category of underdeveloped sectors and further optimize the resources or potential sectors that exist in each region.
