Abstract

This study aims to analyze the production cost structure and to measure the profitability of three types of smallholder pig farming, namely farrow-to-finish, pig-finishing, and pig-nursery in Indonesia. This study employed the data from the Statistics Indonesia-Livestock Business Household Survey (ST2013-STU). The measurement of profitability was carried out by calculating the profitability of three types of pig farming business using the adapted enterprise budgeting method. Based on the production cost structure, the percentage of pig feed costs accounted for more than 70% of the total cash of the three types of pig farming. The percentage of unpaid labor costs is more than 50% of the total non-cash. Based on the measurement results of the profitability indicators, it can be shown that the pig-finishing  type has the highest profitability among the three types of smallholder pig farming. Government policies are needed to increase pig farmers' access to financing and better pig farming technology.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada para petani terkait pemanfaatan biochar sebagai agen pembenah tanah yang dikombinasikan dengan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas cabai rawit. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan PkM antara lain pemaparan materi, pengukuran tingkat pemahaman melaui pretest dan post-test, demonstrasi cara pembuatan dan pengaplikasian biochar, dan peninjauan terkait perubahan perilaku petani atas informasi yang telah diterima. Pengukuran atas perubahan tingkat pemahaman petani atas materi yang diperoleh menggunakan rumus Hake, N-Gain. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa para petani sangat antusias mengikuti kegiatan PkM ini karena biochar tergolong informasi dan teknologi yang baru diketahui. Ketika demonstrasi berlangsung, para petani sangat antusias untuk terlibat terutama para petani perempuan. Berdasarkan hasil pengukuran dengan N-Gain skor yang diperoleh mencapai nilai 1 dengan presentase N-Gain score sebesar 85% hal ini menunjukan bahwa metode yang diterapkan pada kegiatan tergolong efektif selaras dengan tingkat penguasaan petani yang sudah tergolong tinggi. Lebih lanjut, peninjauan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan perilaku dan motivasi dimana petani mampu mengaplikasikan biochar secara mandiri tanpa pendampingan dari tim PkM.Abstract: This PkM activity aims to provide training to farmers regarding the use of biochar as a soil improvement agent combined with Liquid Organic Fertilizer (POC) so as to increase the productivity of cayenne pepper. The methods used in PkM activities include material exposure, measuring the level of understanding through pretest and post-test, demonstration of how to make and apply biochar, and review of changes in farmer behavior on the information that has been received. Measurement of changes in farmers' level of understanding of the material obtained using the Hake, N-Gain formula. The results of the implementation show that the farmers are very enthusiastic about participating in this PkM activity because biochar is a new information and technology known. When the demonstration took place, the farmers were very enthusiastic to be involved, especially the women farmers. Based on the results of measurements with N-Gain the score obtained reaches a value of 1 with a percentage of N-Gain score of 85%, this shows that the method applied to the activity is classified as effective in line with the level of mastery of farmers who are already classified as high. Furthermore, the review showed that there was a change in behavior and motivation where farmers were able to apply biochar independently without assistance from the PkM team.

Abstract

Live pigs are still the mainstay of livestock sub-sector exports inIndonesia. Although pig farming in Indonesia has competitivenessin the international market, its productivity shows a decliningcondition. The purpose of this research is to measure the level oftechnical efficiency of small-scale pig breeding and fatteningbusinesses. The data used come from the results of the FarmHousehold Survey conducted by the Central Bureau of Statistics(BPS). The survey was conducted in 20 provinces in Indonesia,with a sample size of 6,681 small-scale or household-scale pigfarming. The research used the Stochastic Production Frontier(SPF) model to measure the level of technical efficiency of pigfarming and used the maximum likelihood method to estimate it. The results showed that the level of technical efficiency of pigfarming is relatively low. The average technical efficiency level offattening pig farming is higher than that of the breeding. Thefactors of farming experience, market orientation, and feed typecombination have a positive influence in improving efficiency. Public policies that improve pig farmers' access to farm inputs andmarkets are expected to significantly improve the productivity ofsmall-scale pig farming.

Abstract

Abstrak: Digital marketing adalah kegiatan mempromosikan dan memasarkan produk secara online melalui platform media sosial. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada para siswa SMK Restorasi Timung Wae Ri’i terkait dengan market digital supaya dapat memberikan bekal di dunia pekerjaan atau di jenjang perguruan tinggi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 32 orang. Pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian diawali dengan prakegiatan, kegiatan, evaluasi dan monitoring. Materi yang disampaikan adalah digital marketing dengan memanfaatkan sosial media facebook, instagram, whatsapp, tik tok dan youtube sebagai media pemasarannya. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukan bahwa para siswa sangat partisipasi untuk mengikuti kegiatan PkM ini karena market digital merupakan salah satu tekologi yang belum banyak dipahami oleh siswa SMK di era teknologi saat ini. Pada saat melakukan demonstrasi siswa SMK Restorasi begitu antusias untuk mendengarkan penjelasan. Berdasarkan hasil presentase kemampuan siswa rata-rata untuk pretest 61 % dan posttest 95 % di ketahui bahwa metode yang digunakan sangat efektif sehingga sesuai dengan tingkat kepuasan siswa SMK sangat baik.Abstract: Digital marketing is the activity of promoting and marketing products online through social media platforms This PkM activity aims to provide training to students of SMK Restorasi Timung Wae Ri'I related to the digital market so that they can provide provisions in the world of work or at the university level. The method used is counseling and training with a total of 32 students. The implementation of service activities begins with pre-activities, activities, evaluation and monitoring. The material presented is digital marketing by utilizing social media Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Tik Tok and YouTube as marketing media. The results of the implementation showed that the students were very participating in this PkM activity because the digital market is one of the technologies that is not widely understood by SMK students in the current technological era. During the demonstration, the students of SMK Restorasi were so enthusiastic to listen to the explanation. Based on the results of the average student ability percentage for pretest 61% and posttest 95%, it is known that the method used is very effective so that it suits the level of satisfaction of SMK students very well.

Abstract

The use of taro in the making of crackers is a new strategy to create added value economically. The goals of this program are to train students to create innovative and creative works that can support the enhancement of the added value of local products, first by opening up business opportunities, second by giving students the chance to start their own businesses before they graduate, and third by increasing the demand for taro crackers. Tools and materials, production strategies, product manufacturing procedures, team preparation, and marketing strategies and techniques are only a few of the approaches used to carry out the operations. In addition to producing additional value to meet household food demands, the practice of using taro to make crackers also produces economic benefits. In Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, the raw material for this taro cracker product is fairly accessible. In addition, hardly many people exploit this taro as a business opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions. In order to ensure the long-term viability of the taro cracker product industry, this can raise the value of this local food item as a stand-alone exceptional ingredient. While the taro cracker sales system employs both an individual and a collective strategy. Additionally, it uses a cash oliver delivery (COD) system and social media marketing techniques (Website, WA, Facebook, and Instagram)

Abstract

Abstrak: Kecamatan Wae Rii merupakan wilayah penghasil hortikultura untuk disuplai ke Kabupaten Manggarai. Produk yang dihasilkan sebagian besar dalam bentuk produk mentah. Potensi tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menghasilkan produk bernilai tambah dengan memanfaatkan sumber daya manusia yang memadai. Kegiatan PkM ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengenalan konsep nilai tambah dan praktik pengolahan tomat menjadi sambal kepada para siswa di SMKN Restorasi Timung. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pembelajaran di kelas mengenai pengenalan konsep nilai tambah dan pelatihan pembuatan sambal tomat yang melibatkan 30 orang siswa di SMKN Restorasi Timung. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan melalui Pre-test dan Post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kedua tujuan kegiatan PkM telah tercapai yang ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rerata tes sebesar 26% antara sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Pada aktivitas pelatihan, seluruh peserta diikutsertakan secara aktif melalui pembagian kelompok kerja sehingga dapat mengalami secara langsung proses perubahan nilai suatu komoditi. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan pihak sekolah dapat menindaklanjuti produk sambal ini sebagai produk unggulan.Abstract: Horticulture is produced in Wae Rii District for Manggarai Regency. Most of the output consists of raw materials. This potential can be leveraged to add value product if adequate people are employed. The goal of this PkM activity is to introduce the concept of added value and the production of tomato sauce to the students at SMKN Restorasi Timung. The techniques utilized included teaching 30 students by introducing the idea of added value and how to make tomato sauce. The activity is evaluated using the Pre-test and posttest. The activity's results show that the goals have been achieved. The activity findings reveal a 26% rise in the average test score between before and after the activity. All participants are actively involved in training activities through the creation of work groups, allowing them to directly experience the process of changing the value of a commodity. It is hoped that the school will continue to promote this as an outstanding product.

Abstract

Masyarakat di wilayah Manggarai raya-NTT mengagungkan komoditas kopi diantaranya sebagai sumber pendapatan, minuman konsumsi sehari-hari, dan bagian dari budaya lokal. Namun, produktivitas kopi masih berada di bawah rata-rata produktivitas nasional dan tergolong rendah dibandingkan dengan tingkat produktivitas di negara penghasil kopi lainnya. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang dapat meningkatkan produksi kopi dan merumuskan rekomendasi-rekomendasi strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan komoditas kopi di wilayah Manggarai. Tulisan ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pertama-tama, dilakukan studi literatur dengan meninjau kembali penelitian-penelitian terdahulu dengan topik produksi dan produktivitas kopi di tiga wilayah Manggarai yaitu Kabupaten Manggarai, Kabupaten Manggarai Timur, dan Kabupaten Manggarai Barat. Kemudian, berdasarkan kajian tersebut dirumuskan rekomendasi strategis bagi para stakeholder dalam mengembangkan program peningkatan produksi kopi. Hasil kajian literatur menemukan bahwa penyebab penurunan produksi dan produktivitas kopi di wilayah Manggarai adalah peningkatan curah hujan selama pembungaan kopi; rendahnya upaya pengelolaan kebun karena kemiringan lahan; rendahnya tingkat adopsi Good Agricultural Practice (GAP); dan keterbatasan input dan modal usaha. Dari permasalahan tersebut, rekomendasi strategi yang dapat ditempuh untuk meningkatkan produksi dan produktivitas kopi di wilayah Manggarai antara lain: membangun bisnis inklusif yang melibatkan berbagai pelaku pasar; dukungan pemerintah dan swasta dalam promosi dan penguatan kelembagaan; dan optimalisasi petani agar melakukan budidaya sesuai GAP melalui identifikasi karakter setiap petani atau kelompok tani serta memperbaiki akses informasi bagi daerah yang terisolir.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pelatihan dan pengenalan cara pengolahan kopi ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan agar memahami proses pengolahan awal biji kopi setelah panen. Tahapan ini meliputi pengupasan, pengeringan, dan fermentasi biji kopi, yang secara langsung memengaruhi kualitas dan cita rasa kopi. Demikian pula, proses roasting, grinding, dan brewing biji kopi memainkan peran krusial dalam menghasilkan kopi berkualitas tinggi. Pada pelaksanakan kegiatan semua peserta terlibat aktif. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dan evaluasi dari materi dan praktik yang yang telah disampaikan seluruh. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi melalui tanya jawab setelah dilakukan pelatihan siswa semua mampu menjawab pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan kegiatan pelatihan yang berarti kegiatan PkM mempunyai dampak terhadap peningkatan keterampilan mereka.

Abstract

Due to the increasing demand for shallots from households, companies, and industry, the per capita consumption rate of shallots is expected to increase by 8.21% in 2021, making shallots a high-value horticulture product with great business opportunities. Reok District is a subdistrict that is suited for cultivating shallots because it is situated in a lowland region at a height of 12 meters above sea level. 50% less land was cultivated than the previous year. Reok Sub-District is a center for producing shallots in Manggarai Regency, which is a basis for considering a selection of research locations. The decrease in planting area will have an impact on shallot production in Manggarai Regency. 50 shallot farmers, who were specifically selected as the samples, were added. With the assist of the income equation and R/C ratio analysis, this study seeks to ascertain the profitability and viability of shallot farming in Reok sub-district. Based on the analysis's findings, it was determined that shallot farming in Reok sub-district generated an average revenue of Rp. Rp32,304,679.04 with an average of 0.51ha, and the R/C ratio was 1.85, which indicated that the sub-district's shallot farming was deemed to be feasible. This research examines BEP unit and rupiah BEP as material for consideration in the implementation of agricultural activities in the next period in addition to revenue and business viability analysis. where the rupiah BEP is IDR 4,441.45/kg and the unit BEP is 1996.095 kg.

Abstract

Koperasi Produsen Karya Mandiri (KPKM) merupakan salah satu unit  pengolahan hasil kopi yang didirikan oleh Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat (LSM) Ayo Indonesia. Koperasi ini bertindak sebagai pengekspor kopi yang bermitra dengan petani kopi di Kabupaten Manggarai, Kabupaten Manggarai Barat, dan Kabupaten Manggarai Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan usaha pengolahan kopi di KPKM berdasarkan aspek nonfinansial dan aspek finansial. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara dan kajian pustaka. Aspek nonfinansial dianalisis secara deskriptif sedangkan aspek finansial dianalisis dengan kriteria investasi seperti NPV, Net B/C, IRR, dan Payback Period. Hasil analisis aspek nonfinansial dinyatakan layak dijalankan kecuali pada aspek hukum dimana perlu menambahkan beberapa dokumen perizinan lainnya.  Usaha pengolahan kopi KPKM layak berdasarkan aspek finansial karena dengan bunga 5%, usaha ini memperoleh NPV positif sebesar Rp1.003.883.64 0, Net B/C bernilai 1,05 1, Gross B/C bernilai 9,63 1, IRR sebesar 151,88% dan Payback Period selama 1 tahun 5 bulan.
