Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find out how the efforts to use social media as one of the strategies and means of promoting music schools were carried out by Dotodo Music Edutainment. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study type. The choice of this type of case study is because the researcher will understand in depth the context, process, and complexity of the phenomenon being studied. The location of this research is at the Dotodo Music Edutainment music school, which is in the city of Bandung. In the process of collecting data, researchers used interview and observation techniques. Interviews were conducted with the two founders, who are also the owners and teaching staff at the music school. The results of the research conducted show that Dotodo Music Edutainment utilizes several types of social media such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok to reach a wider audience and school promotions. By presenting interesting and relevant content, and involving students in the marketing process, Dotodo Music Edutainment builds a strong brand image and raises public awareness about a quality music school. Dotodo Music Edutainment also uses other supporting strategies such as distributing brochures. This gives the impression of a strong traditional approach and is basically still effective. Abstract

Background: Communication is an ability that has a significant impact on students. Training for this activity must always be carried out. Contribution: The purpose of this study is to explain the impact of seminar activities to improve students' abilities and skills in conducting open and effective communication patterns in the digital era that is currently taking place. Method: The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques carried out include observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Result: Based on data that has been collected, the seminar that has been done is known to have a positive impact and helps students have high enthusiasm to learn about effective communication and tips for maintaining communication ethics in the digital age. Conclusion:  In addition, with the material presented, students can understand the urgency of the formation of communication skills to improve the image, confidence, as well as the responsibilities they have in the future.

Abstract

The leader is an authority figure in which case every gesture pattern and behavior can have an impact on the conditions and responses of subordinates and employees. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact and influence of the communication style and work motivation that the Principal of State Senior High School 57 Jakarta applies and has on the performance of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) there. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method with the type of case study, the use of case studies because researchers can understand in depth the context, process, and complexity of the phenomenon being studied. The data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the research found in the field show that the communication that exists between the Principal and all Teachers at SMAN 57 Jakarta is an effective communication style. Effective communication style allows the Principal to convey vision and goals, provide support to Teachers, promote collaboration, build trust, and solve problems together. In addition, based on the research conducted, it can be concluded that effective communication style is a manifestation of one of Horald-Lasswell's communication theories.

Abstract

Background: Insight and activeness to carry out research are things that must be owned by many people, organizations, as well as agencies and institutions, if they want conditions changes to occur in the environment that they want. Research helps to produce better changes with various methods or approaches. The college as the birthplace of reliable researches must be able the entire academic community in it to have insight into research methodology in order to increase community service. Contribution: This research was conducted to explain the implementation of webinar in order to increase the understanding and mastery of the academic community from lectures, students, and the public in general regarding research methodology. Method: The methodology used is qualitative descriptive. Results: The results showed that the holding of the webinar activity "Research Methodology and Scientific Writing" by the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Esa Unggul University, Jakarta had an impact on increasing the participants' insight and understanding regarding research methodology for students and other general participants. In addition, this activity also helps to encourage an increase in the interest of the academic community both from the Faculty of Communication Sciences and not to do community service with a variety of research method approaches needed by field conditions and integration in accordance with communication science. Abstract

Masalah yang diangkat adalah bagaiaman pola komunikasi orang tua dalam membentuk keperibadian khususnya para orang tua yang memiliki anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola komunikasi yang dilakukan orang tua kepada anak baik dalam menanamkan nilai religius dan agama, dalam memberikan pengarahan kepada anak agar tidak melakukan hal yang menyimpang dan melanggar norma agama. Berbagai teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diantaranya teori komunikasi, pola komunikasi, komunikasi interpersonal dan kepribadian anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatatif yang menghasilkan data melalui pengumpulan data dan menggambarkan keadaan obyek penelitian pada saat sekarang berdasarkan fakta-fakta yang tampak sebagaimana adanya, teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisa data yaitu melakukan wawncara mendalam kepada narasumber/informan yang tercatat sebagai orangtua yang memiliki anak. Hasil penelitian ini adalah orangtua sangat berperan penting dalam membentuk kepribadian anak-anaknya terutama anak remaja dimana anak tersebut sedang mengalami masa peralihan dari masa kanak-kanak menjadi dewasa sehingga orang tua dituntut untuk lebih peka dan terbuka terhadap perubahan keadaan sekelilingnya terutama masalah kebutuhannya. Sudah selayaknya orang tua lebih memperhatikan perkembangan anaknya serta memberikan pengarahan dan nasihat serta lebih memperhatikan perkembangan anaknya untuk memberikan perhatian dan kasih sayang. Orangtuanya harus sering melakukan komunikasi antar pribadi kepada anaknya dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai religius dan nilai-nilai sosial kepada anak agar orang tua dapat membantu dalam membentuk keperibadian anak supaya baik dan benar. Tidak hanya itu saja orang tua juga memberikan dukungan penuh kepada kegiatan yang dilakukan anaknya selagi ahal itu positif dan mengajarkan anak sebagai teman berbagi cerita sehingga anak dapat lebih terbuka jika ia memiliki masalah dan menemukan soslusi yang dapat dari orangtuanya

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dikemas dalam bentuk seminar berjudul “Tantangan Guru PAUD di Era Digital”.  Tujuan dari program tersebut adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dan kapasitas Guru PAUD dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran yang adaptif dan inovatif di era digital saat ini. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pelatihan berbentuk ceramah, evaluasi serta diskusi dalam upaya pencarian solusi terhadap ragam persoalan pendidikan yang bersinggungan dengan teknologi digital. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan efektif dan membantu Guru PAUD dalam memahami urgensi dari penerapan teknologi digital dan strategi penggunaannya dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, dari penelitian ini, maka Guru PAUD perlu menyadari tentang penting peran kolaborasi bersama orang tua guna mengawasi akses teknologi anak, baik di sekolah atau di rumah. Sehingga demikian, penelitian ini berkontribuasi dalam kajian pembelajaran dan perkembangan teknologi di dalamnya.Abstract. This community service program is packaged in the form of a seminar entitled "Challenges of PAUD Teachers in the Digital Era". The purpose of the program is to improve the ability and capacity of PAUD Teachers in organizing adaptive and innovative learning in the current digital era. The methods used are training in the form of lectures, evaluations and discussions in an effort to find solutions to various educational problems that intersect with digital technology. The results show that the activities are effective and help PAUD Teachers understand the urgency of implementing digital technology and strategies for using it in learning. In addition, from this study, PAUD Teachers need to be aware of the important role of collaboration with parents to supervise children's access to technology, both at school and at home. Thus, this study contributes to the study of learning and the development of technology in it.

Abstract

Effective public communication is pivotal in today's digital age, where the interplay of various channels and media platforms shapes societal interactions. This study delves into the intricate domain of public communication, focusing on the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (KOMINFO) in Indonesia. Employing qualitative research methods, including case studies, observations, interviews, and document analysis, this research investigates KOMINFO's strategies, particularly its social media communication initiatives. The study illuminates the challenges faced by the government in bridging communication gaps with the public and explores the innovative solutions deployed, including the utilization of social media platforms, digital literacy programs, and the engagement of skilled communicators. Despite commendable efforts, challenges persist, especially in the context of crisis communication, such as during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for ongoing research to align expectations with outcomes and offers valuable insights for policymakers and practitioners aiming to optimize public communication strategies in the evolving digital landscape.

Abstract

A communication strategy is a plan made to achieve certain goals through the use of effective communication. Communication strategy plays a very important role in increasing sales and attracting the interest of Generation Z. Nuface's communication strategy in attracting the interest of Generation Z in Tangerang through the TikTok Shop platform can involve various approaches that are creative, relevant and adapt to the habits and preferences of this audience. This research aims to determine Nuface's communication strategy in attracting the interest of Generation Z in Tangerang on the TikTok Shop platform and to find out what are the inhibiting and supporting factors for Generation Z communication in their interest in buying Nuface products on the TikTok Shop platform. This research uses qualitative research with data collection techniques through interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that (1) Nuface's communication strategy in attracting the interest of generation Z through the TikTok Shop platform is relevant and interesting content, live shopping on the TikTok Shop application, creating attractive advertisements, and using the TikTok Shop feature. (2) The inhibiting factors for generation Z communication in their interest in purchasing Nuface products on the TikTok shop platform are the TikTok algorithm which changes frequently and lack of trust in the product. Meanwhile, the supporting factors for generation Z communication in their interest in purchasing Nuface products on the TikTok Shop platform are creative or visual content, and authenticity and originality.

Abstract

It is recognized that the press in Indonesia has not entirely implemented a professional and responsible press quality in reporting. This should be watched out for, considering that not all Indonesians have adequate education and intelligence levels. In this study, using the document analysis method and in-depth interviews, it was found that the press was allowed to run without control and responsibility, so this could potentially become a medium of agitation that could affect the psychology of the uneducated community, which, in fact, is greater in number than the educated community. Therefore, this study suggests that press freedom needs to be limited, at least through legal means and legislation. So that the news carried out by the press can become responsible and accountable press reporting. The first use of press freedom was in England 316 years ago. This use is a development of the concept of freedom of speech, which has its roots in Greece since the glorious days of the Romans and Greeks. Indonesia today is said to be practicing responsible press freedom. In terms of philosophy, the Indonesian press is not a responsible press freedom because the press is very free beyond freedom itself. To achieve responsible freedom of the press, several elements or other powers in society need to be given wider independence. The trick is to strengthen the four elements of the branch of power, namely the legislature (the people), the executive, the judiciary, and the press. On the other hand, the executive power, the legislative power that is the most powerful in the country today, needs to be balanced according to its function and should be limited or reduced, in line with the limited government principle, so that the system of mutual control, balance and does not bring down each other contained in the Constitution. And Pancasila becomes more meaningful. Empowering the elements of power based on the Pancasila ideology above will make Indonesia more open, the press more independent, and the freedom to have a wider voice. Its implementation involves and refers to the need for a press law by responding to the needs of the government, society, and the press itself; realize a social contract regarding the freedom of the press which is responsible between the government, the press, and the public; create a code of ethics for the press. Ideally, the idea of responsible press freedom should be implemented in Indonesia today. This idea will not weaken the government; on the contrary, it will strengthen democracy in this country.
