Abstract

ABSTRACT Primary student is an investment the nation because children that age are the future generation. Nutrition becomes important for primary student because it can support the growth physically. Consumption of food and milk of children 6-12 years old can help the nutritional optimally to support the child's growth in height. The objective of this study was to know the relationship between food and milk consumption with body height of children 6-12 years old in SDN 173538 Balige (consist of 60 children as samples). Design of study was cross sectional study. The study was conducted by calculating the adequacy of energy, protein, and calcium from food and milk consumption of children using 24 hour food recall method. Child’s body height was measured by microtoise instrument. The result of study showed that in general, child's body height by age is 81.7% in normal category, 16,7% in short category, and 1,7% in stunting category. There was a significant relationship between the adequacy protein of food, the adequacy protein and calcium of milk with body height. While there was no relationship the adequacy energy and calcium of food and the adequacy energy of milk with body height. The school suggested to cooperate with Balige Health Center provide education to primary student about daily nutrition and benefits of drink milk for height growth. Parents should also pay more attention to children’s food consumption in terms of quantity. Keywords: Food consumption, milk consumption, body height, primary student

Abstract

ABSTRACT Parenting parents has significant impact on the life of children in the future. One of the growth inhibitory effect of parenting which is not oriented to the development of childern. It usually occurs in under five years old. The objective of the study was to describe the parenting and nutritional status of five under years old in smokers families in Berastagi District in 2014. This research was a descriptive cross-sectional design. Data was collected by inter views and questionnaires to 100 respondents with five  under year old in the region of sub-district healath centers Berastagi in March-June 2014. The results showed that the majority of mother who have five under year old in smoker families were with good parenting category, which consisted of 64% feeding practices, hygiene practices and environmental sanitation 64%, and the care of children and families in sickness 67%. The results of measurements of weight/height according to the WHO 2005 standards were in the category off at 1%, 3% risk of fat, 73% normal, 17% lean, and very skinny 6%. The results of measurements of nutritional knowledge a were in either category that was equal to71%, and the knowledge of smoking were in the good category at 68%. Counseling  is required on food, nutrition and health to mothers who have  five under years old in smoker families so that knowledge, parenting and a good level of consumption can be further improved and will ultimately improve the nutritional status of children. Abstract

ABSTRACT Children under five years means the grow than development of rapid and highly important and as a foundation that determines the quality of the success orgeneration of the nation. Ages 0-24 months is a period of rapid growth and development, and often termed as the golden period and at the same time ascritical period. Golden period can be realized if at this time infants and children receive appropriate nutrition for optimal growth and development. The objective of this study was to describe the pattern of growth of children under  five in families of smokers and non smokers in Berastagi district Karo regency. This  research was a descriptive cross sectional design. Data was collected by interviews and questionnaires to help 158 respondents with children under five in the region of sub-district health centers Berastagi in March - June 2014. The results showed that, based on health status (ARI) in  children  under five which suffered the most number of ARI were the family that 57%  of smokers and non-smokers in the family 43%. Growth of children under five based on weight forage, children under five malnutrition 84.2% of smokers in the family, good nutrition 54.3% innon-smokers and families over 100% under weight children in the family non smokers. Growth of infants based on height for age, very short 100%  on a family of smokers, 64.4% short was in the family of smokers and 58.9% of normal height in the family non smokers. Growth in weight for toddler height, very skinny 89% is in the family of smokers, 73% thin nerth ere on a family of smokers, 56% of normal non-smokers there are in the family and 64% obese non-smokers in the family. It is expected to provide input to the clinic to increase public knowledge through education about the dangers of cigarette smoke which give seffect to the growth of infants to increase the awareness of parents, families and communities. It is expected that all members of the family and the community, especially the head of the family to not smoke in the house, even there searcher is hoping that the head of the family can stop the habit of smoking for the health of them selves and their family members, especially baby under five. Abstract

ABSTRACT A good conditional nutrition is a prerequisite to make quality human power. Children with nutrition problem when under old the growth and development of them would be problematic and increase morbidity, decrease productivity and mortality. One of efforts for increase public nutrition status with the way increase nutrition public service by program nutritional family awereness (KADARZI). The purpose of the research is to know the description of nutritional family awarness behavior in under five children  that undernutrition in Puskesmas Desa Lalang. This was a descriptive research by survey type. The population in this study was 43 under  five children undernutrition of 1-5 years old and all of them were used as the samples. The result of the research was not found of family’s are nutritional family awereness (KADARZI). Based of indicator KADARZI found that family do child weighing (68%), nothing of administering exclusive breast feeding, consumption of combine food (41,9%), used of iodine salt (9,3%), and administering vitamin A capsule (74,4%). The solution for this problem are increase sosialitation and promotion program KADARZI, there are the best mission the nutrition personnel (TPG) and cadre of posyandu (integrated service post), and must make an increased associated for family to KADARZI, especially family with under five children that undernutrition. Abstract

The children who experience obstacles into growth caused lack of the adequate food intake and infectious diseases, so that exacerbate malnutrition of children. This condition more difficult to cope growth disorders that finally likely occurrence of stunted. This research aims to know description the consumption pattern of child stunting in SDN 064994 Medan Marelan. Types of study is an observational of cross sectional study design. This study doing by calculating energy sufficiency, protein, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, vitamin A and vitamin C by using 24 hours food recall method. This sample of research is all students stunting as many as 67 people. The results of this study to show that the consumption pattern of child stunting in SDN 064994 according to the amount of food based on the adequacy of macro nutrients such as energy sufficiency is 68,7% deficient category, protein sufficiency is 47,8% good category, and to the adequacy of micro nutrients such as calcium sufficiency is 80,6%, phosphorus is 53,7%, zinc is 98,5% and vitamin C is 80,6% medium category, while magnesium is 62,7% and vitamin A is 50,7% sufficient category. By the type of food consumed an average of 3 types per day and most of the child stunting consume rice as staple food, fish and eggs as a side dish, spinach, kale and mustard greens as a vegetable. From the results of the study suggested the school in cooperate with the primary health care that gives nutritional education school children and to cafeteria that provide healthy snacks and to students stunting to consume vegetables and fruits every day to be able to catch up growth. Abstract

Until now this degenerate disease like Diabetes, Hipercholesterolemia, Gout has been the cause of death in the world. This pattern of food is the most important key to ensure the health, one of them is vegetarian. From a check was commited to 6 of 10 people for a non vegetarian is the level of cholesterol and uric acid are high. The purpose of this research was to tell the diversity of food, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid between the vegans and non vegetarian in Maha Vihara Maitreya Cemara Asri District Percut Sei Tuan Deli Serdang 2014. The kind of this research is observational in the study of latitude (cross sectional study). The population is vegans and non vegetarian. And collecting samples of purposive sampling with the number of samples are 30 people each group. Gathering data was done in an interview with food frequency method and to check a blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid. The research shows that there’s a difference diet, vegans and non vegetarian, the average blood sugar respondents, which is 98,3 (sd 5,8) and in the non vegetarian average blood sugar 144,2 (sd 51,3); the average levels of cholesterol respondents, which is 142,9 (sd 27,3) and on the non vegetarian average cholesterol 222,0 (sd 32,7); the average levels of uric acid respondents, which is 4,8 (sd 0,7) and in the non vegetarian, average urric acid 6,2 (sd 1,5). Suggested vegans to maintain a diet and exercise to stay stablelike of blood sugar, cholesterol and uric acid, and for non vegetarian is expected to increase food vegetable like vegetables and fruit instead of animal food, other than that to do exercise regularly to keep health and avoid disease and degenerative. Abstract

Indonesia still faces major challenges in the field of nutrition, namely malnutrition and nutrition, nutritional status of primary school children is a picture of what is consumed in the long term. One problem that often occurs is the consumption of iron and zinc, so that the necessary attention in the consumption of foods and nutrients are school-age children. This study aims to describe the consumption of iron, zinc and nutritional status of primary school children in SDN No. 060813 Kelurahan Pasar Merah Barat Kecamatan Medan Kota. This type of research is a survey research using quantitative approach. Sampling was carried out with a total sampling method with a sample of 69 students. The type of data collected primary data, performed by using interviews, questionnaires 24 hour recall, food frequency and measurement of nutritional status (TB/U and IMT/U) and secondary data obtained diinstansi related, processing and analysis of data by using a computer program SPSS, Nutrisurvey and WHO antro plus 2007. The results showed that the consumption of iron in school children in SDN 060 813 Kelurahan Pasar Merah Barat Kecamatan Medan Kota largely on the category of less as many as 39 people (56.5%), consumption of zinc mostly in the category of less as many as 52 people (75 , 4%), nutritional status based on IMT/U mostly in the normal category as many as 57 people (82.6%), based on the nutritional status of TB/U mostly in the normal category as many as 44 people (63.8%) The results of this study may be a referral for students to consume a varied diet and nutrition, and to other researchers to further explore the different variables. Abstract

Patterns of food consumption group of Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration program which do not meet the recommended ideal composition characterized by a score of Desirable Dietary Pattern were low at 77, is below the target set by the government. The purpose of this research was to know describe the family food consumption patterns of the participants Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration program, in Mabar Hilir sub district, Medan Deli district, 2014. This research was a descriptive study by cross sectional research design. The population were families of Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration program for 30 families and then to be total sampling. Type data was using primary data and secondary data. Primary data (characteristic family, and pattern of food consumption family) was collected by food frequency, food recall and characteristic family form. Secondary data were about the location of this study has obtained from village office of Mabar Hilir while about Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration program has obtained from Food Security Agency, Medan. The results showed that the consumption of energy in medium category (50,00%), and consumption of protein in lower category (43,33%).The diversification of food consumption status of families are in the high category (90,00%) and medium category (10,00%). There needs to be an construction continuity for all members of the group Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration on the application of diverse food consumption. And family groups Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration to optimize their courtyards as a source of household food and consume foods with adequate amounts.   Keywords: food consumption, food diversification, group of Food Consumption Diversification Acceleration

Abstract

Mother and children under five group of people who are sensitive to issues of food available. Desa Trans Pirnak Marenu including food insecure areas with population worked as farmers manyoritas. The objective of this  study is to determine the existence supply of food  and nutritional status on those head of household as  smoker family at Desa Trans Pirnak Marenu. This study is a survey research with cross sectional approach. . Population involved those smoking members having children under five years. As primary data, collected with questionnaire consisting of available foods, and smoker family in the village of Trans Pirnak Marenu then analyzed descriptively and presented in the form of cross-tabulation and frequency distribution table. The results  showed levels of food availability by cigarette spending most (78.9%) of food insecurity with hunger as much as 21.2% mild, moderate hunger as much as 32.7%, and the rate of severe hunger as much as 25.0%. Spending smaller cigarette, food availability is assured as much as 27.6%, while expenditure cigarette, food availability is assured as much as 13.0%. and acute and chronic malnutrition is still common in families of smokers. In this research showed more correlation be encouraged in sector cross in order to provide them personally counseling, about health, and the dangerous of smoking, it shhould be enlarge promoted to all families having children under five years, this in order to improve consumption of nutritious and balanced food. Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is the complaining of pain comes from lower abdomen and when menstruation, the pain feel about 2 or 3 years after menarche. Dysmenorrhea incidence have ranges from 45% to 75% of all adolescents puberty and it lead to absenteeism from school or work environment. Nutritional status and intake of vitamins and minerals in adolescents need to be considered because it can affect the occurrence of complaints during menstruation, called dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this study was to see from the prespective of the consumption of vitamins and minerals, and nutritional status and the incidence of dysmenorrhea to adolescents in junior high school Shafiyyatul amaliyyah 2015. The type of research in this study is using desctriptive. The population of study was around the junior high school students Shafiyyatul amaliyyah with total 133 students. Samples taken as many as 44 students with simple random technique. Data collected by interview using a food recall form 24 form food frequency, weighing and height measurement. The survey results revealed that the incidence of dysmenorrhea most complaining by adolescents are at a moderate level as many as 21 people (47,7%). The intake of vitamin B6 is lacking in adolescents by 47,1% with moderate pain complaints. Intake of vitamin E were less in all adolescents in which 47,7% of the experienced moderate pain. The intake of calcium is less amounted to 50,0% of respondents with moderate pain complaints. The intake of zinc is less by 47,5% of respondents complaining of mild pain. Normal nutrition status of adolescents by 50,0% had mild pain complaints. Adolescents of Shafiyyatul amaliyyah junior high school sugested to consuming food sources that high of vitamins and minerals regularly, especially foods containing vitamin B6, vitamin E, calcium and zinc.
