Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in students' understanding of mathematical concepts by using conventional metaphorical thinking and learning approaches. This research is a quasi-experimental study. This research was conducted on July 17 - August 17 2018. The population of this study was all students of class IX TI Kerkap Bengkulu North MTs. The sample of this study is class IXB as an experimental class using the approach of metaphorical thinking and class IXA as a control class with conventional learning. Research instruments include tests of understanding mathematical concepts. Data were analyzed by t test. Based on the t-test, the results of the study showed that there were differences in students' understanding of mathematical concepts in the experimental and control classes. Keywords: Mathematical Concept Understanding Ability, Metaphorical Thinking Approach

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed to construct many standardized problems items mathematical creative thinking ability which have Bengkulu contextual. It was held at SMPN 11 Bengkulu city at even semester on academic years 2017/2018. Tessmermodified by Zulkardi was used to developed those problems ones. Tessmer steps was preliminary and formative evaluation. In preliminary prototyping was done, and in formative evaluation developing prossess ware done. 8 of 10 prototype we standardized items, which are valid, practical an difficulty level, power index differences were good or standardized. Keywords : creative thinking mathematics, contextual Bengkulu

Abstract

This research aims to describe the geometric thingking ability of students in the quadrilateral and triangular material based on the Van Hiele theory to grade VII B SMPN 9 Kota Bengkulu who have field independent (FI) cognitive style. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive. The Data were obtained from Van Hiele geometry test results and interviews. Ones were analyzed by using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that FI’s students able to analyze problems of geometry well and in responding to such questions based on the requirements from the inside. So the ability of the highest FI’s students can be achieved to ability level from level 2 to the level 3 (Pre deduction).Keywords : Geometry Thinking, Van Hiele Theory, Field Independent (FI)

Abstract

 AbstrakPenelitian ini untuk menghasilkan soal matematika yang valid, jelas dan terstandar yaitu memiliki tingkat kesukaran dan indeks daya beda yang baik  sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siswa SMP. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model Tessmer dengan tahapan preliminary, self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one dan small group. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30  siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu Selatan. Analisis kualitatif pada tahap expert review untuk memvalidasi soal  segi konten, konstruk dan bahasa.  Tahap one-to-one untuk menganalisis keterbacaan  soal, dan pada tahap small group dilakukan analisis kuantitatif untuk mengetahui karakteristik soal berdasarkan tingkat kesukaran dan indeks daya beda butir soal. Hasil penelitian  diperoleh  12 soal yang terstandar yaitu valid, jelas yang memiliki tingkat kesukaran dan indeks daya beda yang baik  serta dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: soal matematika, berpikis kritis matematis. AbstractThis study aims to produce valid, clear and standardized mathematical questions that have a good level of difficulty and a different powor index according to indicator of critical thinking skill in junior high school students. The one-to-one stage is to analyze the readability of the question, and in the small group stage quantitative analysis is carried out to determine the characteristics of the questions based on the level of difficulty and the discriminatory power index of the items. The results of the study obtained 12 standardized questions, namely valid, clear which have a good level of difficulty and discriminatory power index and can be used to train students’ critical thinking skills.Keywords: items test, mathematical critical thinking.

Abstract

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan soal-soal kemampuan penalaran matematis materi bangun ruang sisi datar berkonteks Bengkulu yang terstandar: yang valid, memiliki keterbacaan baik,  memiliki tingkat kesukaran dan indeks daya beda baik. Penelitian ini yang dilaksanakan pada tahun ajaran 2020/2021 ini mengikuti alur  Tessmer. Subjek ujicoba adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP di Bengkulu. Sebelum prototipe soal dibuat, dilakukan analisis siswa, kurikulum, materi dan konteks. Telaah dan revisi soal dilakukan pada tahap experts review. Soal ditelaah oleh 3 orang validator dari sisi konten, konstruk, dan bahasa. Komentar dan saran validator pada proses validasi menjadi acuan untuk revisi soal. Hasil analisis validasi akhir para validator menunjukkan bahwa soal telah valid. Proses one to one pada 3 orang siswa kelas VIII yang  masing-masing berkemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah, Tergambar dari proses one to one bahwa maksud soal dapat terbaca oleh siswa. Bukti empirik mengenai tingkat kesukaran dan indeks daya beda butir soal diperoleh pada tahap small group, dengan cara mengujicobakan soal yang telah valid dan memiliki keterbacaan yang baik kepada 31 siswa kelas VIII SMP di Bengkulu.  Skor siswa terhadap soal tersebut dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa 8 soal dikembangkan dikategorikan terstandar. Soal-soal ini dapat digunakan untuk melatih kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP. Kata Kunci: Soal matematika, kemampuan penalaran matematis, konteks Bengkulu, bangun ruang sisi datar  Abstract The purpose of this research was to produce standardized items on mathematical reasoning abilities in the Bengkulu context of flat-sided geometry: those that were valid, had good clarity appeal, had a difficulty level and a good discrimination index. This research, which was conducted in the 2020/2021 academic year, follows the Tessmer’ model. The test subjects were students of class VIII SMP in Bengkulu. Before the items prototype was made, an analysis of students, curriculum, material and context was carried out. The review and revision of the items were carried out at the experts review stage. The items were reviewed by 3 validators in terms of content, construct, and language. The validator's comments and suggestions in the validation process become a reference for revision of the questions. The results of the final validation analysis of the validators, showed that the questions were valid. One to one process for 3 students of class VIII, each of which has high, medium, and low abilities. It is illustrated from the one to one process that the meaning of the questions can be read by students. Empirical evidence regarding the level of difficulty and discrimination index of items was obtained at the small group stage, by testing items that were valid and had good readability to 31 grade VIII SMP students in Bengkulu. Student scores on these items were analyzed quantitatively. The results of the analysis showed that the 8 items developed were categorized as standardized. These items can be used to exercise the mathematical reasoning skills of junior high school students. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) yang valid dan praktis untuk pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning pada materi kubus dan balok; dan untuk untuk mengetahui efek potensialnya pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model four-D, yaitu Define (pendefinisian), Design (perancangan), Develop (pengembangan), dan Desseminate (penyebaran). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Proses validasi dilakukan oleh 3 orang validator. Hasil telaah validator digunakan untuk merevisi Lembar Kerja Siswa. Analisis data validasi secara kualitatif dan kuantitatif menunjukkan Lembar Kerja Siswa yang dikembangkan valid. Selanjutnya Lembar Kerja Siswa disebarkan terbatas kapada 15 orang siswa SMP untuk diuji tingkat kepraktisannya. Data kepraktisan dikumpulkan dengan angket respon siswa. Diperoleh skor rata-rata kepraktisan sebesar 3,91 yang termasuk kategori praktis. Efek potensial LKS terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa telah terlihat dari hasil kerja siswa dalam LKS.
