Abstract

Banjar archaic is an ancient ethnic Banjar language that some speakers still speak in remote areas or older speakers. Banjar archaic language is unique in terms of disclosure, so it is exciting to research. Banjar's archaic vocabulary must be well documented so that the vocabulary does not disappear over time. This study aims to identify the vocabulary of the Banjar language archaic and describe the class category of Banjar archaic. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with the emic approach. The subject of this study was the Banjar ethnic community with an age range of 40-65 years. The research was conducted in Peat Subdistrict, Banjar Regency. The results showed that the vocabulary of Banjar language archaic is still used by Banjar ethnicity, as evidenced by the discovery of eighty-eight vocabulary with four types of word classes, namely nouns, verbs, adjectives, and numerals. Of the four types of word classes, which are still widely used are the class of nouns in the form of basic nouns and compound nouns. While the least is numeral found only one vocabulary. The surviving vocabulary of Banjar archaic is caused by several factors of community culture, namely farming and community patterns that still uphold Banjar customs.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of hate speech in the comments column of the Instagram account @dpr_ri on the post of the apology and condolences statement of the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, and explain its legal implications based on Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE). This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, and a pragmatic and forensic linguistic approach. The data collection technique uses digital documentation techniques. The data analysis technique uses content analysis techniques combined with pragmatic analysis to reveal the function of expressive speech acts and relate them to the articles of the ITE Law. The results of the study indicate that the hate speech found includes four categories, namely provocation, incitement, insults, and unpleasant actions. Linguistically, the speech contains expressive speech acts with connotations of hatred, while legally it has the potential to violate Article 27 Paragraph (3) concerning insults or defamation and Article 28 Paragraph (2) concerning the spread of hatred based on SARA. The social implications include the erosion of public communication ethics, the emergence of a culture of aggressive speech, and the risk of criminalization due to low digital legal literacy. These findings confirm that pragmatic analysis and forensic linguistics can be used as instruments for early identification of hate speech on social media, while simultaneously strengthening legal awareness and language ethics in Indonesia's digital space.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) identify cognitive level features in articles written by lecturers in the field of language and its teaching based on Bloom and Anderson's taxonomy theory and 2) determine the cognitive dimensions represented in lecturers' articles. The type of research used is a descriptive analysis to describe the cognitive level in lecturers' articles on language and its teaching based on Bloom's revised taxonomy by Anderson. The data collection technique used reading comprehension and was analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results showed 1) C6 Creating was the cognitive level with the highest frequency in each feature, but the overall cognitive levels were correlated in constructing applicable, critical, reflective, and creative scientific writing patterns as knowledge and learning development and 2) The dominance of C6 indicates that lecturer articles are written at a high cognitive level, focusing on analytical, reflective, and creative aspects. This dynamic shows maturity in academic thinking by utilizing basic cognitive abilities and integrating higher-order thinking skills to develop scientific innovations. In conclusion, lecturers' articles in the field of language and its teaching have shown significant evolution in the process and cognitive dimensions.

Abstract

The role of parents is crucial in determining a child's ability to produce speech and develop vocabulary. Socioeconomic changes and parental involvement in work have led to a decrease in the intensity of communication, which has the potential to hinder children's language acquisition and social interaction. This study aims to describe the differences in language production abilities among children aged 3–4 years in Kalikapas Hamlet, Lamongan Regency, between those whose parents are employed and those whose parents are not employed. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques that included observation and in-depth interviews with 11 informants. The data were analysed through transcription, speech classification, and social context interpretation with triangulation of sources. The study's results indicate that there are differences in the language production abilities of children from working and non-working families. Children of non-working parents demonstrate better phonological and syntactic skills, can form complex sentences with subject-predicate-object-adverbial structures, and have more precise pronunciation. The study's results indicate that there are differences in the language production abilities of children from households with working and non-working parents. The results also show that children of working parents tend to have limitations in phoneme pronunciation and simple sentence construction due to lower intensity of interaction. These findings confirm that the frequency and quality of two-way conversations between children and parents play a crucial role in children's language development. A home environment rich in verbal stimulation and simple literacy activities, such as storytelling and reading together, has been shown to support the improvement of children's vocabulary and syntactic structure.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk serta fungsi tuturan eufemisme dan mitigasi dalam persidangan kasus Ferdy Sambo melalui pendekatan linguistik forensik. Kajian ini penting karena bahasa dalam ruang sidang tidak hanya berperan sebagai sarana penyampaian fakta hukum, tetapi juga sebagai strategi komunikasi untuk mengelola citra diri, mereduksi tanggung jawab, dan menegosiasikan relasi kuasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan data berupa rekaman video persidangan yang diperoleh melalui beberapa kanal YouTube. Data dianalisis menggunakan teori kesantunan Brown & Levinson (1987) yang menekankan konsep positive face dan negative face. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan lima bentuk eufemisme, seperti penghalusan tindakan kriminal dan penggunaan diksi formal seperti “penembakan” dan “pemberhentian tidak terhormat”. Selain itu, ditemukan lima bentuk mitigasi yang diwujudkan melalui ungkapan ketidaktahuan, pelemahan kepastian, pengalihan tanggung jawab, dan penonjolan tekanan psikologis. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa analisis bahasa memiliki peran penting dalam memahami strategi komunikasi hukum. Kata kunci: Linguistik Forensik; Eufemisme; Mitigasi; Persidangan Sambo

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) to describe the application of Smart Box Nusantara media assisted by pictorial advertisements on the ability to advertise products to 8th grade slow learners at SMPN 24 Surabaya, 2) to describe the effectiveness of Smart Box Nusantara media assisted by pictorial advertisements on the ability to advertise products to 8th grade slow learners at SMPN 24 Surabaya, and 3) to describe the response of 8th grade slow learners at SMPN 24 Surabaya to the use of Smart Box Nusantara media assisted by pictorial advertisements on the ability to advertise products. This type of research uses pre-experimental using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 8th grade slow learner students at SMPN 24 Surabaya. Data collection techniques applied observation, tests, and interviews. This study shows the results of observations with a percentage of student activity scores of 91.6% and educator activities of 97.9%. The test results showed an increase in learning outcomes in advertising Indonesian culinary orally with an average pre-test score of 68.2 (KKTPe”82), then experienced an increase in the post-test average of 86.2 (KKTPe”82). Based on the calculation of the Wilcoxon Math Pair Test, it is known that Z count = 2, while Z table = 1.96 (á=5%), so Z count > Z table. The response of slow learner students showed a positive response as evidenced by statements in the interview session.

Abstract

Abstrak Evaluasi belajar adalah proses pendidik untuk menentukan nilai belajar yang dilaksanakan melalui kegiatan penilaian atau instrumen tertentu. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan penulis, masih banyak guru bahasa Mandarin yang kurang memahami bagaimana menyusun instrumen penilaian sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran yang ingin dicapai. Tujuan pendampingan ini adalah membantu, menuntun dan memberikan saran-saran agar guru bisa menyusun instrumen dengan baik, yang bisa digunakan secara praktis pada proses kegiatan belajar mengajar. Instrumen yang baik akan meningkatkan kualitas evaluasi pembelajaran, mempermudah guru mengukur keberhasilan siswa dan membantu mengembangkan program pembelajaran, sehingga diharapkan bisa meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan mendorong peningkatan keterampilan masing-masing siswa.
