Noken is one of the typical Papuan woven or knitted crafts that comes from wood fibers, leaves, and plant stems. This handicraft business is widely found in the Land of Papua as an ancestral cultural heritage and includes creative economy businesses. Activities in the form of utilizing individual creativity, skills and talents to create welfare and jobs that produce and utilize the creativity and inventiveness of individual craftsmen. Abstract

Increasing agricultural productivity in Eastern Indonesia, particularly in Aimas District, Sorong Regency, is a strategic step in supporting local food security and farmer welfare. Papua Farm, a pioneer in hydroponic lettuce cultivation in Papua, faces challenges such as limited water, climate fluctuations, and limited access to modern agricultural technology. A community service program titled "Optimizing Modern Agricultural Products through Drip Irrigation Systems at the Papua Farm Farmer Group, Aimas District, Southwest Papua" was implemented to address these challenges. The drip irrigation system was chosen because it can channel water and nutrients directly to the plant's root zone, reduce water loss due to evaporation, and increase fertilizer efficiency through fertigation. The program was implemented using a participatory approach through stages of socialization, training, demonstration plot installation, mentoring, and evaluation. Results showed a water use efficiency of up to 40%, a reduction in labor costs of Rp1,000,000 per season, and an increase in harvest productivity of around 25% with more uniform crop quality. In addition to technical aspects, this program also increases farmers' knowledge capacity, strengthens group institutions, and opens market opportunities through agribusiness digitalization. Thus, the application of the drip irrigation system has proven effective as a model of modern, sustainable agricultural technology and is worthy of being replicated in other areas with similar conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of entrepreneurs that influence success in running a business. Through a survey method involving 50 entrepreneurs, this study explores various characteristics, including self-confidence, risk-taking, hard work, innovation, independence, forward-looking orientation, responsiveness, management, networking, and strategic skills. The results of the analysis show that there is a significant relationship between entrepreneurial characteristics and business performance. The Spearman Rank correlation test indicates that strategy, networking, and management skills have a solid relationship, confirming the importance of these skills in supporting entrepreneurial success. Meanwhile, characteristics such as risk-taking and innovation show a weaker relationship with other traits, indicating that the context and situation of the individual influence these factors. This study provides insight into how various entrepreneurial characteristics interact with each other and contribute to business success. These findings are expected to be a reference for developing training and support programs for entrepreneurs and increasing understanding of the importance of skills development in the world of entrepreneurship. Thus, this study contributes to the entrepreneurship literature by highlighting the relationship between individual characteristics and successful business outcomes

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the productivity of lettuce agriculture and the economic welfare of the indigenous Papuan people in Sorong Regency. Sorong Regency is still very dependent on other regions to meet the needs of vegetables because vegetable productivity in Sorong Regency is still very low and people's interest in becoming farmers is still very low, which causes the need for local food, especially vegetables. Low knowledge and skills of members of the Osok Women's Group (75% did not graduate from elementary school). The Osok women's group is dominated by indigenous Papuans who do not have sedentary jobs and have low education. There has been no effort developed in the Osok Women's Group and has not been maximized in the organizational arrangement of the group. The solution to the problems faced by Osok women is by conducting socialization and training in making compost planting media. The use of compost planting media was chosen because compost is proven to increase soil fertility naturally, is environmentally friendly, and has lower production costs compared to chemical fertilizers. This activity involves socialization and training to local communities regarding the manufacture and application of compost planting media in lettuce cultivation. Through composting techniques using local organic materials, such as plant residues, and organic waste. The stages of implementing the service are preparation, interviews, socialization of making compost planting media, training in making compost planting media, evaluation and reporting. The results of this activity show that this service activity shows several important results, both from agricultural and socio-economic aspects of the community. There is an increase in the knowledge and skills of the Osok Women's Group by 100%. 80% of organic household waste is converted into compost and there is an increase in household income of 5-10%. This activity has had a positive impact on the indigenous Papuan community in Sorong Regency, especially in optimizing the potential in a sustainable manner and increasing income. This program is expected to continue to grow and provide long-term benefits for the welfare of the local community.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is to increase the knowledge and skills of farmer group members in making compost and liquid organic fertilizer, as well as increasing knowledge related to the application of GAP to increase production in developing and supporting the existing community economy, especially members of the Tirta Arum farmer group. The method applied in the service activity consists of several stages of activities including field surveys, socialization stages, focus group discussions (FGDs) and training, as well as monitoring and evaluation of program success. From this activity, it can be seen that the production capacity of compost and liquid organic fertilizer has increased as a business activity development of the Tirta Arum farmer group. Previously, the production of compost fertilizer reached 1 ton and liquid organic fertilizer 400 liters every month. After the activity, the production of compost reached 2 tons and liquid organic fertilizer 450 liters per month. The application of GAP in making compost and liquid organic fertilizer shows an increase in productivity. Tirta Arum farmer group is able to optimize existing resources to produce compost and liquid organic fertilizer.
