Abstract

Learning is a complex activity. Learning is not just conveying messages but is also a professional activity that requires teachers to use basic pedagogical skills in an integrated manner in creating effective situations. Ice Breaking is a simple, light and concise game or activity that functions to change the atmosphere of freezing, stiffness, boredom or sleepiness in lecture activities. The research method in this article is a descriptive qualitative method carried out at UIN Sunan Kalijaga on third semester students of the PIAUD study program. The results of the research showed that the lecturer implemented ice breaking to re-optimize the class situation at the beginning of the delivery of the material which did not seem conducive because the students started to feel sleepy, bored and not concentrating on the lecturer's explanation in front of the class. So use various types of icebreakers, namely 1). Types of shouts 2). Interactive clap type 3). Types of games and games and the last one 4). Types of audio visuals that can be delivered at the beginning or closing activities. This is an effective way to restore students' learning motivation so that the class becomes active and conducive.   ABSTRAK Pembelajaran merupakan suatu kegiatan yang komplek. Pembelajaran bukan hanya sekedar menyampaikan pesan tetapi juga merupakan kegiatan profesional yang menuntut guru untuk menggunakan keterampilan pedagogis dasar secara terpadu dalam menciptakan situasi yang efektif. Ice Breaking merupakan permainan atau kegiatan yang sederhana, ringan dan ringkas yang berfungsi untuk mengubah suasana kebekuan, kekakuan rasa bosan atau mengantuk dalam kegiatan perkuliahan. Metode penelitian pada artikel ini metode kualitatif deksriptif yang dilakukan di UIN Sunan Kalijaga pada mahasiswa semester III prodi PIAUD. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Dosen mengimplementasikan ice breaking dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan kembali situasi kelas pada awal penyampaian materi terlihat tidak kondusif karena mahasiswa mulai mengantuk, bosan, dan tidak konsentrasi pada penjelasan Dosen didepan kelas. Maka menggunakan ice breaking dengan berbagai jenis yaitu Jenis yel-yel Jenis tepuk interaktif. Jenis games maupun permainan dan yang terahir. Jenis audio visual yang bisa disampaikan pada kegiatan awal, maupun kegiatan penutup. menjadi hal yang efektif untuk mengembalikkan motivasi belajar mahasiswa sehingga kelas menjadi aktif dan kondusif.

Abstract

The inspiration and innovation used to learn English are still minimal. The learning thatoccurs is to imitate, record, and maintain vocabulary. This condition makes students think learning English is troublesome. At the same time, English is considered necessary because it is an international language and is widely used. This article discusses how powerful English learning is in a fun and liked way for children, mainly through quiz games. The methodology used in this study is subjective. The researcher analyzes and collects information along with data on research topics and makes a difference to English coaches about their meetings when involving the Quizizz application as a learning medium to build student inspiration in learning English. The Quizizz game application teaching media makes students more interested in learning a language and makes teaching easy and effective. Based on the exploration directed by scientists, it is possible to reason that learning English through game applications is very powerful and ready to expand students' learning inspiration. Games are learning media that can create an exciting learning climate but do not reduce or reduce students' understanding of the material and can expand their learning inspiration in vocabulary learning. This educational game provides benefits in learning media because this media is exciting and can inspire considerable brain work and then use time productively. Abstract

The application of learning technology makes a severe challenge for the English teachers as a foreign language (EFL) at Kindergarten learning online, which results in neglected outcomes. Various kinds of the latest tools and appropriate online learning technology are widely available, but the limited ability of EFL teachers and students can't keep up with the progress. This study aims to analyses how the challenges of EFL teachers and students using online learning technology impact output quality in kindergartens. The data for this study were sourced from the owners of the Kindergarten, the principal, and 12 EFL teachers who had considerable experience in two private Kindergartens. Data collection is done through observation, documentation, and interview. Data analysis is manually inductive with model producer which started from data collection, reduction, data display, and verification. The study results show that the importance of appropriate technology that EFL teachers and students cannot use has resulted in a fall in the quality of outcomes that have a global impact. The impact of children's education in Kindergarten affects further formal education, which should follow the demands of the development of science and technology in the present and the future. This condition does not pursue the educational vision, mission, and goals. At the same time, this study requires problem-solving based on problem-based learning, and excellent teachers must master Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK).

Abstract

  This study explored teacher management strategies for enhancing the competence of Hafizh Al-Qur'an in the digital era. This qualitative descriptive study collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were validated using triangulation techniques, including data triangulation, investigator triangulation, theory triangulation, and methodological triangulation. The findings of this study indicate an increase in the competence of Hafizh Al-Qur'an including higher motivation, improved reading and memorization quality, increased consistency and discipline, and deeper understanding and practice of the Al-Qur'an. This improvement is attributed to effective management practices through the Planning-Organizing-Actuating-Controlling approach. Planning includes identifying training needs, setting strategic goals, and planning digital technologies. Organizing includes resource allocation, team building, and the provision of facilities. Actuating includes teacher training, implementation of the Tahfizh method, and use of the online platform. Control includes periodic evaluation, feedback, and obstacle fixing. This study offers a foundation for future research to explore potential challenges and mitigation strategies for the potential negative impacts of using technology in learning and memorizing the Qur'an.

Abstract

Abstract: This study explores the application of the Blue Ocean Strategy in preserving the Javanese script through educational institutions. In this context, the strategy is utilized to develop a new, more effective approach to increasing students' interest in learning the Javanese script. A qualitative methodology is employed, with interviews serving as the primary instrument to assess students' awareness and responses to the implemented learning methods. The findings indicate that the methods used in the examined educational institution are more accessible and comprehensible for students compared to traditional Javanese script instruction commonly practiced in elementary to high schools. This conclusion is based on interview data showing heightened student interest in the Javanese script as a result of a more innovative and adaptive teaching approach. Although the study does not report a specific increase—such as 35% or 40%—in interest, the interviews suggest that the implemented methods enhance students' enthusiasm and understanding of the script. The study implies that innovation in teaching the Javanese script can serve as an effective strategy for cultural preservation. Consequently, the Blue Ocean Strategy offers a relevant model for educational institutions seeking to develop more engaging and accessible learning experiences for students.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas penerapan strategi Blue Ocean dalam pelestarian aksara Jawa melalui lembaga pendidikan. Dalam konteks ini, strategi Blue Ocean digunakan untuk menciptakan pendekatan baru yang lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan ketertarikan peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran aksara Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode wawancara sebagai instrumen utama untuk mengukur kesadaran dan respons peserta didik terhadap metode pembelajaran yang diterapkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode yang digunakan di lembaga pendidikan yang menjadi objek penelitian lebih mudah dipahami oleh peserta didik dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran aksara Jawa yang umum diterapkan di tingkat SD hingga SMA. Temuan ini didasarkan pada wawancara yang mengungkapkan adanya peningkatan ketertarikan peserta didik terhadap aksara Jawa karena pendekatan yang lebih inovatif dan adaptif. Data wawancara menunjukkan bahwa metode yang diterapkan mampu meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman peserta didik terhadap aksara Jawa. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa inovasi dalam metode pembelajaran aksara Jawa dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif dalam upaya pelestarian budaya. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan Blue Ocean dapat menjadi model yang relevan bagi institusi pendidikan dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan mudah diakses oleh peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of spiritual leadership in the Quran memorization (tahfiz) program and the extent to which this program contributes to the formation of students’ Quranic character. The research was conducted at MI Al-Islamiyah Grojogan, Bantul, Yogyakarta, over one month in June 2025. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with 3 teachers and 1 principal, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the principal plays a central role in creating an Islamic value-oriented learning environment, not only through administrative policies but also by serving as a consistent moral and spiritual role model. The implementation of spiritual leadership is reflected in support for the tahfiz program, active involvement in religious activities, and ongoing character development. Furthermore, synergy between the principal, tahfiz teachers, and students contributes to the establishment of a strong religious culture in which Quranic values are both taught and internalized through daily practice. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding family support and balancing academic learning with character education. Therefore, it is recommended that schools strengthen teacher training in spiritual leadership, integrate tahfiz activities more systematically with character education, and build sustainable collaboration with parents and the wider community to optimize the internalization of Quranic values.

Abstract

This study explores effective strategies for teaching English speaking skills and the factors that influence implementing these strategies. The study discussed the strategies used in speaking learning, why they are chosen, and their implications for students speaking success. The strategies referred to in this study encompass methods, resources, and media used in achieving success in learning to speak English. The research method employed is qualitative with a case study approach. The study was conducted in March 2023 at some schools and English courses, with ten teachers serving as informants. Data collection was carried out through indirect interviews via WhatsApp and GoogleForm. The main findings show that role-play and chain drill methods are the most frequently applied strategies and are considered effective in improving students speaking skills. The main factors that influence the use of these strategies include students interest and the relevance of the material. The implications of this study highlight the importance of selecting strategies that are appropriate to students characteristics and learning contexts, and this study shows the need to adapt teaching methods based on the availability of resources and environmental support. The results of this study provide insights for educators to design and implement more effective speaking learning strategies and encourage further discussion on innovation in English language learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a science learning design based on local wisdom in MI/SD Gunungkidul by utilising the uniqueness of local culture and natural resource wealth, such as traditional agricultural practices, natural resource management, and local community lifestyles. This research uses a qualitative approach involving 17 teachers as the main source to obtain in-depth data about their experiences, challenges, and needs in implementing local wisdom-based learning. With semi-structured interview instruments and data analysis through three stages data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion, the study is guided by three problem formulations: (1) how local wisdom-based science learning is implemented in schools, (2) why such a design is important in Gunungkidul, and (3) what its impacts are. These problems directly align with the research objectives, which are to explore current implementation practices, analyse the urgency and contextual relevance of integrating local wisdom into science education, and evaluate its potential impact on science literacy, cultural and environmental preservation, and student creativity. The findings show varying levels of implementation, with some schools beginning integration despite challenges such as limited facilities and teacher readiness. Overall, the local wisdom-based science learning approach makes lessons more meaningful and relevant to students' lives.

Abstract

Explores the application of nonviolence in conflict management within pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), based on the interpretation (tafsir) of Fakhruddin ar-Razi, a classical Islamic scholar known for his rational and philosophical exegesis. Conflicts in pesantren may arise due to differences in opinion, leadership styles, orimbalances in interpersonal relationships. The nonviolence approach offers apeaceful, dialogical, and just method of conflict resolution, in line with Islamic values.Ar-Razi’s tafsir, particularly his interpretation of verses related to peace, justice, andhuman interaction such as Surah Al-Hujurat (49): 9–10 and Surah An-Nahl (16): 125emphasizes persuasion, wisdom-based dialogue, and the prohibition of coercionand violence. These principles align with contemporary conflict resolution theoriesand present a valuable framework for managing disputes in pesantren environmentsconstructively and ethically. This research adopts a qualitative method with a libraryresearch approach, analyzing Ar-Razi’s tafsir works alongside contemporaryliterature on conflict management in Islamic educational settings. The study aims todevelop a contextual and applicable model of conflict resolution rooted in classicalIslamic thought and the ethos of nonviolence. By integrating ar-Razi’s interpretativeinsights with modern needs, pesantren can foster a culture of peace, dialogue, andmutual respect, contributing to the sustainability of Islamic education in plural anddynamic societies.
