Abstract

The objective of the study are to investigate the negotiation style uses by Man and Women and the gender influence on the initiation of negotiation in educational conversation context. The research design used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research design. The researchers used the purposive sampling technique to select participants. Participant of this research were an 11 male students and 11 female students of English students of UKI Toraja. The instrument used are observation and interview. This study used the interactive model to analyze data. Data analysis techniques are carried out interactively and take place continuously until complete until the data is saturated. This study confirms that: 1) both male and female participants exhibit a prevalent utilization of the 'compete' negotiation style when initiating conversations within diverse social contexts. Specifically, this negotiation style encompasses proactive engagement in discussions for the explicit purpose of seeking information pertinent to the context. Notably, a higher proclivity for information-seeking through competing behavior is observed among female participants, while male participants tend to engage in conversations without introducing novel topics, emphasizing the nature of their engagement as oriented toward interaction rather than information acquisition. 2) The Influence of Gender Initiation within the Educational Conversation Context, Particularly in the Realms of Attaining Research Information: A Scholarly Exploration and Fostering Collaborative Engagement for Assignment Completion among Peers.

Abstract

Lembang Mappa’, Kecamatan Bonggakaradeng, Kabupaten Tana Toraja, memiliki potensi besar di sektor perikanan dan pertanian yang belum sepenuhnya dimanfaatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi sumber daya lokal serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan berkelanjutan di kedua sektor tersebut. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi lapangan, wawancara dengan masyarakat lokal, dan analisis data sekunder terkait produksi dan pengelolaan sumber daya alam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi geografis, kesuburan tanah, dan ketersediaan air mendukung pengembangan pertanian padi, sayuran, dan kopi, sementara perikanan air tawar memiliki peluang besar melalui budidaya ikan mas dan nila. Strategi pengembangan melibatkan peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat melalui pelatihan, penyediaan sarana produksi, dan integrasi teknologi modern. Penguatan kolaborasi antara pemerintah daerah, masyarakat, dan sektor swasta juga menjadi kunci keberhasilan. Implementasi strategi ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan di Lembang Mappa’.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the teaching strategies used by lecturers in the management department for certain purposes and how students think of the teaching strategies used by lecturers in learning English for specific purposes. For data processing in this study researchers used qualitative methods, the strategy used was qualitative descriptive. The subject of the study was an English lecturer who taught in the management department and obtained through interviews and voice recordings. The data that has been collected is analyzed in three stages, namely information reduction, information display and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the lecturers' strategies in teaching English for Special Purposes (ESP) in the management department contained 5 parts, namely: Just a Minute (JAM), Group Discussion, Discussion, Presentation, and Role playing.

Abstract

This study explores the internalization of the "Project to Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students" through the lens of Toraja's local culture. Pancasila, as Indonesia’s foundational philosophical principle, emphasizes values such as mutual respect, social justice, and unity in diversity. By integrating Toraja's rich cultural heritage including its traditions, arts, and social norms this project aims to enhance students' understanding and embodiment of Pancasila values. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, participant observations, and focus group discussions with educators, students, and local community leaders. It highlights the effectiveness of culturally contextualized education in fostering critical thinking, civic responsibility, and a sense of belonging among students. By examining local customs, such as the Toraja's unique funeral rites and communal practices, the project illustrates how these cultural elements can be harnessed to reinforce Pancasila principles in a meaningful way. Findings indicate that incorporating local culture not only enriches students' learning experiences but also cultivates a deeper appreciation for their national identity. The study concludes that the successful internalization of Pancasila values requires a collaborative effort between educational institutions and local communities, promoting a holistic educational framework that respects and celebrates cultural diversity. This approach not only prepares students to become responsible citizens but also strengthens the social fabric of Indonesia by bridging cultural heritage with national ideals. Ultimately, the project serves as a model for similar initiatives in other regions, emphasizing the importance of local culture in national education reforms aimed at nurturing a generation grounded in both local and national values.

Abstract

Fungsi bahasa sangatlah penting dalam kehidupan manusia. Bahasa dalam wujud wacana menghubungkan dan menyampaikan maksud dari komunikator terhadap pendengar. Bahasa dalam wujud wacana tidak hanya memberikan dampak positif tapi juga dampak negatif dalam kegiatan interaksi social. Bahasa memang sebuah sarana atau media yang digunakan untuk mengekspresikan segala hal yang ada pada diri kita maupun yang ada di luar diri kita, namun bahasa pula yang menjadi salah satu penyebab munculnya ketidakharmonisan hubungan antar sesama manusia. Akibat dari ketidakharmonisan yang muncul akibat penggunaan bahasa akan berdampak terhadap hubungan, produktivitas dan capaian kinerja, baik di lingkungan keluarga, sekolah maupun dalam lingkungan pekerjaan. Salah satu segi dari kajian wacana yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini adalah wacana sebagai media komunikasi dalam bentuk tuturan lisan. Tuturan lisan inilah yang dominan digunakan dalam berbagai interaksi sosial, dalam berbagai bidang dan bentuk. Dari hasil penelitian tuturan lisan yang menjadi fokus kajian adalah situasi/keadaan, pemilihan diksi dan cara atau gaya penyampaian tuturan wacana tersebut yang berdampak pada terpicuhnya amarah seseorang. Hasil dari penelitian ini penelitian ini adalah kemarahan karena bahasa tutur terjadi karena keadaan psikologis dan situasi yang dialami oleh pengalam. Penelitian ini juga mengukapkan bahwa ungkapan kemarahan diindikasikan dengan kata-kata dan ungkapan yang diucapkan. Kemarahan tersebut diungkapkan dengan intonasi suara yang keras tajam dengan tujuan membuat orang yang dimarahi sakit hati dan tersinggung, sering kali berujung pada perkelahian ketika kemarahannya sudah tidak terkendalikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi efektivitas penerapan motivasi dan kesopanan berbasis budaya lokal melalui media bahasa dalam kurikulum pengajaran di tingkat Sekolah Dasar (SD). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan melibatkan beberapa SD di daerah yang mewakili keberagaman budaya lokal. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru, serta kuesioner yang diberikan kepada siswa dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan motivasi dan kesopanan berbasis budaya lokal melalui media bahasa memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pembelajaran di tingkat SD. Guru yang menggunakan pendekatan ini melaporkan peningkatan dalam partisipasi siswa, motivasi belajar, dan pemahaman materi pelajaran. Siswa juga menunjukkan respon yang positif terhadap penggunaan media bahasa yang mengintegrasikan unsur-unsur budaya lokal, menyatakan bahwa hal tersebut membuat pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan relevan bagi mereka. Selain itu, orang tua juga mengamati perubahan positif dalam perilaku dan minat belajar anak-anak mereka setelah menerapkan pendekatan ini. Mereka melaporkan peningkatan dalam sikap sopan santun dan rasa hormat terhadap budaya lokal mereka. Penerapan motivasi dan kesopanan berbasis budaya lokal melalui media bahasa dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran di tingkat SD. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya termasuk pengembangan lebih lanjut terhadap kurikulum yang mengintegrasikan aspek budaya lokal secara menyeluruh, serta pelatihan untuk guru dalam mengimplementasikan pendekatan ini secara efektif.
