Abstract

Oyster mushrooms have a high nutritional content, so they are often used as a base for dishes or snacks. Because of the high protein and glutamic acid content in oyster mushrooms, they have the opportunity to be processed into soy sauce. The use of bromelain enzyme from pineapple juice can produce oyster mushroom soy sauce with good quality characteristics. Oyster mushrooms provide dietary fiber and other ingredients that can improve health. Oyster mushroom is a very interesting prospect, because it is a commodity that has a fairly high quality demand. SMKN 7 Bengkulu City has an industrial and culinary department. The knowledge and skills of students on the progress of the oyster mushroom marketing business and its processed diversification results are still relatively underdeveloped. This is due to several factors including: lack of knowledge and skills in food processing, relatively small interest of students in the process of diversifying processed foodstuffs, and relatively small skills of students in extending shelf life and increasing the economic value of food products. Modern packaging and labeling, oyster mushroom soy sauce products using bromelain enzyme will become more economically valuable and feasible to develop and allow for expansion of the marketing area. Therefore, the community service team together with partners identified that it is necessary to improve soft skills and skills for students of SMKN 7 Bengkulu City, which can be done through training and applications in community service programs.

Abstract

Sheet jam is a modification of semi-solid jam products into sheets that are dense, practical and not too sticky. This research aims to characterize the effect of adding jelly or carrageenan on the physical, chemical and organoleptic properties of pedada fruit sheet jam. This research consisted of 2 treatments, namely the type of texturizer (jelly and carrageenan) and the concentration of the texturizer (1.5%, 2.25%, 3.0%). Analysis of yield, physical (texture), chemical (water content, fiber, protein, vitamin C, total dissolved solids), organoleptic tests (color, aroma, texture, taste, stickiness and overall), determining the best treatment as well as income and profit analysis are carried out on all sheet jam samples. Analysis of the best treatment using the De Garmo method states that the best sheet jam is found in the treatment with the addition of 1.5% carrageenan concentration, with a yield value of 56.31%, texture 2.32 mm, water content 26.08%, fiber content 0.82%, protein content 5.35%, vitamin C content 0.36% and total dissolved solids 29.70%. Organoleptic tests on color, aroma, texture, taste, stickiness and overall showed values of 4.20%, 3.85%, 3.85%, 3.85%, 3.70% and 4.25%. The results of the income and profit analysis of sheet jam for the best treatment show that with a total cost of Rp. 2,462,907 can generate income of Rp. 3,210,000 with a profit in one month of production of Rp. 747,093

Abstract

Paddy production and productivity are crucial indicators in determining the success of a region's agricultural sector. Bengkulu Province has potential in the agricultural sector, particularly in paddy production. The data obtained show that paddy production and land area have been quite fluctuating. The aim of this research is to identify productivity and forecast future agricultural production. By using predictive modeling methods, this research also aims to project future paddy production. Utilizing quantitative descriptive methods and secondary data, specifically time series data of production and land area from 2004 to 2023, the data analysis employs linear regression forecasting. The results indicate that the average paddy productivity in Bengkulu Province reaches 3.4355 tons per hectare. The predicted paddy production for the next five years, from 2024 to 2028, shows a trend that tends to be stable but remains in a lower range compared to previous years. In 2024, production is predicted to reach 307,422 tons, then slightly decrease to 303,658 tons in 2025, and continue to decrease to 299,848 tons in 2026. The years 2027 and 2028 are predicted to reach 297,258 tons and 293,164 tons, respectively. This decline indicates ongoing challenges in the paddy farming sector in Bengkulu Province.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on packaging design for dairy products in Mekar Sari Village as a strategy to increase the selling value and competitiveness of local products. The main problem faced is the lack of brand identity and attractive packaging, which makes it difficult for products to compete in the market. Methods The service activity uses an observational approach and data triangulation through direct observation, informal interviews, and documentation. The result is the development of a packaging design that reflects the professionalism, freshness, and quality of the product, including the use of logos, modern visual design, and bilingual information. The campaign not only increased brand awareness but also provided training to the community on branding and marketing. Further recommendations include the use of eco-friendly packaging materials and storytelling on the packaging to create an emotional attachment with consumers.

Abstract

Mekar Sari Village, located in Kabawetan District, Kepahiang Regency, has local resources such as organic fertilizer and cow milk that have not been fully optimized. One of the main challenges is the product packaging design, which is unattractive and lacks informativeness, affecting the product’s market appeal and competitiveness. This study aims to develop an innovative packaging design for organic fertilizer to enhance its appeal and product identification. The community service results show that the new packaging design, which incorporates visual elements such as logos, benefit descriptions, and fertilizer ingredients, can increase market interest and strengthen product image. Furthermore, farmers' involvement in the design process has raised market awareness of the sustainability of organic products. Although there are some challenges related to access to technology, this program is expected to contribute to local economic development and enhance product competitiveness in a broader market.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of the Gemini AI model as an expert system to enhance the accuracy of harvest predictions and the distribution of horticultural products. The main contribution of this research lies in the application of the cutting-edge Gemini AI, which processes real-time environmental data—such as weather conditions, soil moisture, and market demand trends—to generate more accurate harvest time predictions and automated product quality evaluations. Implementation results show a 22% improvement in harvest prediction accuracy compared to conventional methods, an 18% increase in operational efficiency in distribution, and a 15% reduction in post-harvest waste. These findings suggest that AI-based expert systems offer adaptive solutions to the challenges of horticultural crop management and represent a significant innovation in modern agricultural practices.

Abstract

Children’s education in Mekar Sari Village faces significant challenges due to low learning motivation caused by conventional teaching methods. The implemented educational program aims to enhance student motivation and involvement through an interactive, character-based learning approach. This method involves the use of visual media, educational games, and a fun learning environment. The results show that the interactive approach can improve students’ learning interest, enhance literacy and numeracy skills, and foster positive character development. Additionally, collaboration between educators, the community, and village leaders proves essential for the sustainability and success of the program. These findings align with previous studies indicating that character-based education strengthens student motivation. This program is expected to serve as a model for other villages to improve the quality of basic education in remote areas.

Abstract

The problem of household organic waste accumulation is one of the new challenges in environmental management. One environmentally friendly and efficient solution is to utilize the biopore hole system as a method of processing organic waste into compost. Biopore holes are a simple technology in the form of vertical holes in the ground that function to accelerate the decomposition process of organic waste with the help of the activity of microorganisms and soil fauna. The purpose of this training is to increase public knowledge on how to process organic waste properly, while producing useful waste products such as compost. This activity is carried out in the form of lectures and practices, so that residents gain knowledge and skills in processing organic waste properly.
