Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is the second-largest degenerative disease in Indonesia which is influenced by several factors such as obesity, low physical activity, and poor diet. This study aims to identify nutritional factors in 77 types 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Depok by using a cross-sectional descriptive research design. This study uses a purposive sampling technique with Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria, analyzed using univariate analysis. The results were mostly female respondents 84.4%, aged 51-60 years 76.7%, nutritional status of obesity 44.2%, high school education level 40.3%, respondents not working 68.8%, income level Rp 1,000,000, - up to Rp 2,000,000 per month 39%, and respondents who consumed 87% of the drug, when the blood sugar level (GDS) was 71.4%, breakfast frequency was 72.7%, strength of muscle mass was weak 51.9%. Moderate physical activity 59.7%, moderate GI consumption 64.9%, moderate category BG consumption 48.1% and central obesity 75.3%. This research concludes that low nutritional factors can increase the risk of type II DM in Cimanggis Health Center, Depok City in 2019.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yang dilaksanakan kepada calon guru IPA ini meliputi tiga tahap yaitu berupa tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan dan tahap evaluasi. Ketiga tahapan ini dilalui guna mencapai tujuan utama yaitu meningkatkan kompetensi calon guru IPA melalui pelatihan pengelolaan laboratorium (biologi, fisika, kimia). Metode yang diterapkan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah demonstrasi, tanya jawab, ceramah, diskusi dan praktik langsung. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan sebanyak 5 kali pertemuan dengan materi-materi tertentu. Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini sesuai dengan harapan tim. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket dapat dilihat bahwa pada setiap aspek penilaian hampir rata-rata dapat dikategorikan baik. Pada aspek materi, diskusi/tanya jawab, demonstrasi/praktik dikategorikan dalam kategori baik, sedangkan aspek pemaparan materi dan keberlanjutan kegiatan dikategorikan sangat baik. Beberapa saran yang dapat dirangkum adalah terkait dengan alokasi waktu dan jumlah pertemuan. Dengan banyaknya materi akan lebih maksimal jika jumlah pertemuan dapat ditambah lagi. Saran-saran dari peserta menjadi umpan balik bagi tim pengabdian untuk keberlanjutan kegiatan pelatihan laboratorium bagi calon guru IPA.Abstract: Community Service Activities carried out for science teacher candidates include three stages, namely the preparation stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. These three stages were passed to achieve the main goal of increasing the competence of science teacher candidates through laboratory management training (biology, physics, chemistry). The methods applied in the implementation of this service are demonstrations, questions, and answers, lectures, discussions, and hands-on practice. The activity was carried out 5 times with certain materials. The results achieved in this training activity were in line with the team's expectations. Based on the results of the questionnaire analysis, it can be seen every aspect of the assessment almost the average can be categorized as good. In the material aspect, discussion/question and answer, demonstration/practice were categorized in the good category, while the aspects of the material presented and the sustainability of the activity was categorized as very good. Some suggestions that can be summarized are related to the allocation of time and number of meetings. With the amount of material, it will be maximized if the number of meetings can be added again. Suggestions from participants became feedback for the service team for the sustainability of laboratory training activities for science teacher candidates.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPisang Kepok (Musa paradisiaca L.) merupakan komoditas holtikultultura yang mudah dibudidayakan dan memiliki nilai produksi yang tinggi di Indonesia. Laju pertumbuhan produksi pisang di Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan sejak tahun 1998-2015 yaitu sebesar 0,33% per tahun, sedangkan kosumsi pisang selama tahun 2002-2015 menunjukkan perkembangan yang berfluktuatif namun cenderung menurun dengan rata-rata sebesar 0,53% per tahun. Telah dilakukan kegiatan pembuatan biskuit dengan mensubsitusikan tepung kulit pisang kepok dengan tujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat Komplek POLRI Jatirangga, Bekasi dalam memanfaatkan limbah kulit pisang kepok menjadi olahan biskuit yang mengandung komposisi gizi yang cukup tinggi dan benilai ekonomis. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan yang melibatkan 15 orang peserta. Hasil uji tingkat kesukaan terhadap biskuit menyatakan bahwa daya terima responden secara keseluruluhan adalah memnyukainya, sedangkan hasil uji proksimatnya didaptkan kandungan karbohidrat sebanyak 62,91%, lemak sebanyak 12,23%, protein sebanyak 7,26%, serat pangan sebanyak 51,21%, kalium sebanyak 3272,69 mg/100 g, energi sebanyak 390,75 kkal/100 g, kadar air sebanyak 8,82 %  dan kadar abu sebanyak 8,78 %. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini sangat bermanfaat untuk dilakukan karena masyarakat belum pernah mengolah kulit pisang kepok menjadi tepung yang bisa dimanfatkan menjadi berbagai macam olahan makanan selingan berkhasiat tinggi dan berpotensi dalam mencegah penyakit konstipasi dan hipertensi. Kata kunci: Musa paradisiaca L.; kulit pisang kepok; biskuit. ABSTRACTKepok Banana (Musa paradisiaca L.) is a horticultural commodity that is easily cultivated and has a high production value in Indonesia. The rate of growth in banana production in Indonesia continues to increase from 1998-2015, which is equal to 0.33% per year, while banana consumption during 2002-2015 shows a fluctuating development but tends to decrease by an average of 0.53% per year. The activity of making biscuits has been carried out by substituting kepok banana peel flour with the aim of empowering the people of the Jatirangga Police Complex, Bekasi in utilizing the waste of Kepok banana peels into processed biscuits that contain high nutritional composition and economically validity. The implementation of this activity was carried out using the extension method which involved 15 participants. The results of the test level to the biscuit stated that the respondent's overall acceptance was to like it, while the proximate test results were conducted by carbohydrate content of 62.91%, fat as much as 12.23%, protein as much as 7.26%, food fiber as much as 51.21%, potassium as many as 3272.69 mg / 100 g, energy as many as 390.75 Kcal / 100 g, water content of 8.82% and ash content was 8.78%. This community service activities are very useful to do because the community has never processed Kepok banana peel into flour that can be widely used into various kinds of high-purpose foods with high efficacy and potentially in preventing constipation and hypertension. Keywords: Musa paradisiaca L.; kepok banana leather; biscuit.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berbasis penyuluhan ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat pengetahuan siswa melakukan kegiatan cuci tangan yang tepat sesusai dengan standar yang ditetapkan oleh WHO pada siswa TPA Al-Ikhlas Polri Jatisampurna Bekasi. Kesadaran dan pengetahuan terkait cuci tangan yang tepat dapat memproteksi diri dari berbagai penyakit terutama penyakit diare. Siswa sekolah TPA Al-Ikhlas Polri terdiri dari siswa pra sekolah dasar dan sekolah dasar usia 3-12 tahun yang berjumlah 21 orang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diawali dengan metode kuisioner dan selanjutnya dilakukan dengan mensosialisasikan Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) terutama tentang perilaku cuci tangan yang tepat. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan PKM ini dari pretest yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa 62% tidak mengetahui 6 gerakan cuci tangan dan 38% mengetahui 6 gerakan cuci tangan. Setelah dilakukan penyuluhan cuci tangan dan demo cuci tangan kepada siswa maka diperoleh hasil post test yaitu terjadi penurunan 19 % tidak mengetahui 6 gerakan cuci tangan dan terjadi kenaikan menjadi 81 % mengetahui 6 gerakan cuci tangan. Kata kunci: cuci tangan; penyuluhan; kecacingan. ABSTRACTThis community service activity was carried out to determine the level of knowledge of students in carrying out proper hand washing activities according to the standards set by WHO in TPA Al-Ikhlas students at the Jatisampurna Polri, Bekasi. Awareness and knowledge related to proper hand washing can protect themselves from various diseases, especially diarrheal diseases. TPA Al-Ikhlas Polri students consist of pre-primary and elementary school students aged 3-12 years, totaling 21 people. The implementation of the activity begins with the questionnaire method and is then carried out by socializing the Clean and Healthy Life Behavior), especially regarding proper hand washing behavior. The results of the implementation of this community service from the pretest showed that 62% did not know the 6 hand washing movements and 38% knew the 6 hand washing movements. After conducting hand washing counseling and hand washing demonstrations to students, the post test results were obtained, namely a decrease of 19% not knowing 6 hand washing movements and an increase to 81% knowing 6 hand washing movements. Keywords: hand washing; counseling; worms.

Abstract

Background : Diabetic ulcers are a common complication of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) Type 2. People with DM type 2 have the potential to be 15-25% experiencing diabetic ulcers during their lifetime. An increase in leukocytes may indicate an infection or inflammation. Purpose : This research aims to find out the analysis of the number of leukocytes in diabetic ulcer patients in Diabetes Mellitus type 2. Methods : This type of research is descriptive with cross sectional design. The research was conducted at Bhayangkara TK.I R.Said Sukanto Hospital in May-June 2021. The sample is a diabetic ulcer in DM type 2 that performs a complete blood test with a total of 35 samples. Its independent variables are gender, age, and long suffering from DM type 2. The dependent variable is the number of leukocytes. Data is collected using primary and secondary data. Analyzed univariate and bivariate using SPSS fisher exact test. Result Most respondents had number of leukocytes >10,000/uL which was 27 respondents (77.1%). There is an age correlation with the number of leukocytes, p-value 0.006, OR value of 13.2. There is a sex correlation with the number of leukocytes, p-value 0.032, OR value of 8.57. There is a long-suffering correlation with the number of leukocytes, p-value 0.016, OR value of 12.5. Conclusion :There is a relationship between the number of leukocytes with diabetic ulcer patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with age, gender and duration of diabetes.

Abstract

The utilization of coconut pulp flour in the food product making is still very limited. This research to analyze brownies that are distuited coconut pulp flour against nutritional value. This research is an experimental research with level of substitution of wheat flour with coconut pulp flour as treatment. There are 3 treatments, that is F1 (55% wheat flour and 45% coconut pulp flour), F2 (45% wheat flour and 55% coconut pulp flour) ad F3 (35% wheat flour and 65% coconut pulp flour). Formula results selected from the organoleptic test who is F1 with comparison 55:45 continued with result proximate test that obtained water rate, ash rate, fat, protein, carbohydrate and fiber in way continue that 23,88%, 1,91%, 7,39%, 5,78%, 61,04 and 1,82%. The conclusion of this research is that have differences (p <0.05) between the formula result to water rate, ash rate, protein, carbohydrate and fiber.

Abstract

Worms infection disease is a health problem often found in the world and Indonesia. Worms’ infection disease commonly found in Indonesia and which infected children are caused by Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris Trichiura, and Enterobius vermicularis. One of the children affected by worms is often playing with the ground because of the habit. Al Ikhlas School’s Polri in Jatisampurna Bekasi consists of pre-primary and elementary schools that have never received counseling about the dangers of worms’ infection. This activity aims to educate children about the dangers of worms’ infection. The method used is through filling out questionnaires, counseling, media posters, and handwashing demonstrations. The activity was attended by 21 with 81% had experienced worms’ infection disease and 19% had never have experienced worms’ disease, and 85,71 % understood about knowledge of worms’ infection disease and 14,29 did not understand. The counseling provided included egg and adult worms, the cause of worms’ disease infection, how to get infections, the danger of infection, and prevent infection.

Abstract

Potato peel flour (Solanum tuberosum) is a flour that has a potential to be developed as a food source of potassium. This research was conducted to determine the chemical properties of potato peel flour. Potato peel flour is carried out in several stages: peeling potatoes; soaking in 0.3% sodium bisulfite (NaHSO3) solution for 60, 90 and 120 minutes; drying; milling; and sifting. Parameters observed were water content, ash content, protein, fat, carbohydrates and potassium (K). Potato peel flour with various immersions produced has the characteristics of water content (7.84 – 9.03%), ash content (4.15 – 4.67%), protein (11.35 – 11.60 %), fat ( 0.74 – 0.87%), carbohydrates (74.63 – 75.26%), and potassium (1231.32 – 1671.86 mg/100 g). Based on the potassium content, potato skin flour with the highest potassium content was soaked for 120 minutes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of the substitution of the whole banana (Musa paradisiaca l.) High-fiber biscuits to prevent degenerative diseases in the elderly. This experimental research design uses a Completely randomized design (CRD) with one control formula and four substitution levels including F0 (100% wheat flour), F1 (50% wheat flour and 50% kepok banana peel flour), F2 (45% wheat flour and 55 % kepok banana peel flour), F3 (40% flour and 60% banana peel flour) and F4 (35% flour and 65% of banana peel flour). .The results of the proximate analysis of selected whole banana (musa paradisiaca l.) biscuits contain 16.64% fiber, 63.18% carbohydrate, 21.58% fat, 5.64% protein, 469.50 kcal / 100g energy, 6.49% water, and 3.11% ash. This research concludes that the control formula biscuits is significant different from the selected whole banana (musa paradisiaca l.) biscuits formula (p <0.05) in in each analysis (water, ash, fat, protein, carbohydrate, and fiber).

Abstract

bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling gizi terhadap pengetahuan dan kebiasaan makan (asupan energi, protein, lemak, karbohirat, dan serat). Design penelitian adalah pra-experimental with one group pre test and post test. Metode pengambilan sampel purposive sampling berjumlah 58 orang peserta prolanis Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini, yaitu form karakteristik responden, form pengetahuan, terapi farmakologi, form konseling gizi, dan kuesioner food recall 2x24 hours. Analisis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu McNemar test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ada pengaruh edukasi gizi terhadap pengetahuan dengan p=0,001 (p<0,005) dan kebiasaan makan (asupan protein dengan p=0,001, lemak dengan p=0,021, karbohidrat dengan p=0,003, dan serat dengan p=0,001) (p<0,005) responden. Namun tidak ada pengaruh edukasi terhadap asupan energi dengan p=0,648 (p>0,005) responden.
