Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the exemplary values in 'Lencana Alia' story book by Esti Asmala. This research was carried out with a qualitative method. The result revealed that Asmala combined symbolic modeling technique and positive reinforcement to give an understanding of exemplary values that children can practice. The symbolic modeling technique included the character activities that showed some moral values such as independence, cleanliness, responsibility, commitment, social care, and honesty. Then, an example of positive reinforcement was given to encourage children in the form of a badge based on the character they successfully played. Besides, children were also taught to recognize critical situations to see a situation that is more appropriate or favorable to their ego.

Abstract

Salah satu bidang yang terkena dampak pandemi COVID-19 adalah bidang pendidikan khususnya dalam proses pembelajaran, salah satunya tentang penerapan pembelajaran yang biasanya menggunakan metode luring atau tatap muka menjadi metode pembelajaran online atau daring. Banyak orang tua yang menyatakan bahwa pembelajaran daring menyebabkan siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi. RBUS (Rumah Belajar Ustadzah Sundari) merupakan solusi nyata dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam menerima materi pembelajaran. Metode pendampingan pembelajaran ini yaitu menggunakan pendekatan service learning dan tujuannya agar mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang pentingnya belajar meskipun dalam keadaan pandemi dan orang tua memiliki kesadaran bahwa proses pembelajaran masih berlangsung sehingga anak dapat berhasil memperoleh pendidikannya. Sedangkan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Juni sampai dengan Juli Tahun 2021. Adapun sasaran dalam kegiatan PKM melalui kegiatan RBUS yaitu siswa sekolah dasar dari Kelas 1 sampai Kelas 6 yang berjumlah 33 orang siswa, dimana rata-rata siswa bersekolah di SD Integral Luqman Hakim Sumenep dan SDN Pangarangan. Temuan dan Hasil kegiatan pendampingan ini yaitu dapat meningkatkan kualitas pemahaman siswa terhadap mata pelajaran dan pentingnya belajar, serta meningkatkan kesadaran orang tua akan pentingnya pendampingan anak dalam pembelajaran daring atau online. Selama masa pandemi covid-19 ini siswa dan orang tuanya berharap kepada tim pengabdi untuk tetap melanjutkan program pendampingan belajar tetap berjalan.One of the areas affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is the field of education, especially in the learning process, one of which is the application of learning that usually uses offline or face-to-face methods into online or online learning methods. Many parents state that online learning causes students to experience difficulties in understanding the material. RBUS (Ustadzah Sundari Learning House) is a real solution to increasing students' understanding of receiving learning material. This learning assistance method uses a service learning approach. The goal is to increase students' understanding of the importance of learning even in a pandemic, and parents have the awareness that the learning process is still ongoing so that children can successfully obtain their education. At the same time, this service will be carried out from June to July 2021. The target in PKM activities through RBUS activities is elementary school students from Class 1 to Class 6, totalling 33 students. The average student attends SD Integral Luqman Hakim Sumenep and SDN Pangarangan. The findings and results of this mentoring activity are that it can improve the quality of students' understanding of subjects and the importance of learning and increase parental awareness of the importance of assisting children in online or online learning. During the Covid-19 pandemic, students and their parents hoped that the service team would continue the learning assistance program to continue.

Abstract

Kiai senantiasa menjadi ruh bagi santri di pesantren yang diasuhnya, serta menjadi barometer sosok yang dipatuhi oleh masyarakatnya. Tulisan ini mendeskripsikan tentang fenomena kepatuhan terhadap kiai dalam perspektif psikologi pendidikan. Teknik analisis isi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Analisis konten ditekankan pada bagaimana para peneliti melihat konten komunikasi secara kualitatif. Kesimpulannya, faktor yang dominan dan terstruktur dalam kepatuhan di dunia pesantren terhadap kiainya, disebabkan maraknya pembelajaran kitab Ta’lim al-Muta’allim karya Az-Zarnuji dan kitab Ihya’ Ulum ad-Din karangan al-Ghazali sebagai kitab utama bidang penanaman akhlak dan karakter di pesantren. Di samping itu, salah satu bentuk kepatuhan tersebut terjadi dalam fenomena perjodohan. Walaupun sebenarnya, fenomena perjodohan yang berlatar karena kepatuhan terhadap kiai di lingkungan pesantren, melahirkan persoalan di sisi psikologis bagi pelaku pernikahan tersebut.

Abstract

Abstrak: Cerita anak masih dianggap relevan untuk mengajarkan anak mengenai nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang membantu mereka mengimplementasikan budaya masa lalu di tengah gempuran era global hedonis. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk menggali salah satu buku cerita anak yang menggabungkan teknik pasif dalam penggambaran nilai implisit, juga persuasif mengajak anak melakukan kegiatan fisik melalui permainan tradisional. Penelitian dilakukan dengan desain kualitatif, dan menjadikan buku anak berjudul, “Perahu Daun” karya Iwok Abqary sebagai sumber data. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: 1) dalam perspektif gerak motorik, buku ini memperlihatkan modelling terhadap kegiatan fisik yang dapat dipraktikkan; 2) berdasar perspektif kognitif, anak-anak diajarkan mengenai strategi, penyelesaian masalah, hingga ketahanan pada kegagalan. 3) Sementara berdasarkan perspektif sosio-emosional, buku ini mencakup nilai interaksi sosial, kemandirian dan juga nilai kompetitif. Abstract

Literacy and numeracy competencies are fundamental competencies in the industrial era 5.0. Numeracy skills are also needed in trade, health, education, etc. Literacy skills are required to face global challenges, solve problems, make appropriate decisions, and understand natural and social phenomena. Literacy and numeracy skills are essential abilities and are the basis of education. This study aims to analyze the implementation of STEAM learning based on local wisdom and how it affects numeracy and literacy skills in elementary school level. This mixed-methods research uses a Sequential Exploratory model/design and data collection using observation, interviews, and tests. The results showed that teachers in implemented STEAM learning based on local wisdom according to the indicators: observation, new ideas, innovation, creativity, and society. In the process, the teacher integrates local wisdom values into learning in the last step, namely culture. The pre-test results showed 40% of students' completeness with an average score, while the post-test showed 80% of students' totality with an average score, increasing student learning outcomes in class IV elementary school. The results of the paired samples t-test also show a significance value, which means that STEAM learning based on local wisdom affects students' numeracy and literacy skills in fourth grade. It is hoped that literacy and numeracy will become supporting materials for strengthening the literacy movement the school has carried out. This article's literacy and numeracy applications will continue to develop and vary according to the diverse context of needs and socio-cultural conditions of schools.

Abstract

Masalah yang mendasari pengkajian interferensi terhadap tuturan bahasa Madura setidaknya ada dua hal yakni interferensi dapat merusak pelestarian tuturan bahasa Madura yang baik dan benar, dan dapat merusak tradisinya. Interferensi dalam tuturan bahasa Madura mencakup interferensi leksikal, fonologi, morfologi, dan sintaksis. Target kajian sebagai berikut: (1) memperoleh gambaran tentang interferensi leksikal dari kata dasar atau kata jadian yang berbentuk kata serapan, kata sapaan, kata ungkapan dalam bahasa Indoenesia yang terkait dengan maknanya terhadap tuturan bahasa Madura pada acara tradisi mantu di Sumenep; (2) memperoleh gambaran tentang sebab terjadinya interferensi leksikal dari kata dasar atau kata jadian tersebut. Hal ini, didasarkan pada kajian teori interferensi leksikal kata dasar dan kata jadian tentang kata sapaan, kata serapan, kata ungkapan (idiom) serta kaidah tuturan bahasa Madura yang baik dan benar. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif dengan prosedur sebagai berikut. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah tuturan si petutur, informan, peristiwa, dan literatur dengan teknik perekaman tuturan, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Kajian menghasilkan temuan dan pemberian makna terhadap adanya interferensi leksikal kata dasar dan kata jadian tentang kata sapaan, kata serapan, kata ungkapan (idiom) dari sejumlah petutur dalam pertuturan acara tradisi mantu. Terjadinya interferensi tersebut disebabkan minimnya perbendaharaan kata dasar dan kata jadian tentang tingkatan tuturan halus serta pemahaman penggunaaannya sehingga tidak mampu mewakilkan yang disampaikan. Hal ini dapat merusak kaidah tuturan bahasa Madura yang baik dan benar serta merusak kesakralan acara tradisinya. There are at least two problems that underlie the study of interference with Madurese speech, namely that interference can damage the preservation of good and correct Madurese speech and can damage its traditions. Bearing in mind, Madurese speech has a level of speech in which the term Madurese is called ondhagga bhasa. This is also because in general the Madurese are bilingual people who are able to master two or more languages. Interference in Madurese speech includes lexical, phonological, morphological, and syntactic interference. The targets of the study are as follows: (1) to obtain an overview of lexical interference from basic words or derived words in the form of loanwords, greeting words, idioms in the Indonesian language which are related to their meaning in Madurese speech at the in-laws tradition event in Sumenep; (2) obtain an overview of the causes of lexical interference from the root word or the derived word. This is based on the study of lexical interference theory of basic words and invented words regarding greeting words, borrowed words, idioms (idioms) and good and correct Madurese speech rules. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative research approach with the following procedure. The sources of data used are the speeches of the speakers, informants, events, and literature using speech recording techniques, interviews, observations, and documentation. The study resulted in findings and giving meaning to the existence of lexical interference from basic words and derived words regarding greeting words, borrowed words, idioms from a number of speakers in the speeches of the mantu tradition. The occurrence of this interference is caused by the lack of basic vocabulary and invented words regarding the level of fine speech and understanding of its use so that it is unable to represent what is conveyed. This can damage the good and correct norms of Madurese speech and damage the sacredness of its traditional events.

Abstract

The principles of politeness are fundamental to understanding ethical and moral behavior.  This study explores the principles of politeness, as manifested in maxims, and the ethics and morals of students at Islamic Elementary School. The method used in providing data is the Listen method with Dasar Sadap techniques with Simak, Bebas, Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. Data was obtained from 25 students' oral and written speech. The oral speech data was collected by dialogue using a recorder and transcript. Then, written speech data was taken from the transcript of the message. The research uses a pragmatic theoretical approach, especially the principles of language politeness (Leech, 1983). The data analyzed uses the collection method with Bagi Unsur Langsung (BUL) technique. This technique divided data directly into the theory, although the results of the research show that the language use of Nurul Islam students does not violate the principles of politeness. In that sense, students' speech is classified as using polite language, which is manifested in the form of (1) the maxim of wisdom (tact maxim), (2) maxim of generosity or generosity (generosity maxim), (3) maxim of acceptance or praise or appreciation (approbation maxim), (4) humility or simplicity maxim (5) agreement maxim, (6) sympathy maxim. These maxims shape student ethics and morals in the midst of rapidly increasing technological developments through the language conveyed in the interactions carried out. Thus, this research contains the politeness principle Islamic Elementary School Studets used. Social media do not influence the language used of politeness principle, although the research still has the potential to be studied in more depth regarding the principles of politeness from different perspectives and objects in rapid technological advancements.

Abstract

Numerical ability is the basis for students in working on solving math problems and is one of the indicators for assessing the Minimum Competency Assessment. Based on the PISA results released by the OECD, Indonesia's numeracy literacy level was ranked 74th out of 79 countries, this shows that Indonesia's numeracy literacy level is still very low. This study aims to analyze the numeracy skills of fifth-grade students through self-efficacy in elementary schools. The type of research used is causal-comparative research, also known as ex-post facto research with a quantitative approach. Respondents in this study were 32 grade 5 students. The research instruments used were self-efficacy questionnaires, and numeracy skills test questions. Data analysis in this study used descriptive and inferential statistics in simple linear regression analysis. The research results show that students' self-efficacy can significantly improve their numeracy skills. Students' numeracy skills are influenced by student self-efficacy by 51.2%. Meanwhile, 48.8% is influenced by other factors besides self-efficacy. The results of this study also show that the better the students' self-efficacy, the better their numeracy literacy skills will be.
