Abstract

Abstract: The Influence of Principal Leadership on Teachers’ Motivation and Their Performance. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of school leadership on work motivation and the performance of teachers. This type of research used in this research is explanatory research with methods of ex post facto basis that the research carried out relatively non-experimental. The population in this study were teachers in SMA Medan 241 teachers. This research uses descriptive statistical analysis and analysis infrensial. The results coefficient values obtained between the leadership of the principal lines of work motivation of teachers for 0,249 and the path coefficient between the leadership of the principal on teacher performance amounted to 0,156. This shows that the school leadership have a significant influence on the motivation and performance of teachers.Abstrak: Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Kepala sekolah terhadap Motivasi kerja dan Kinerja Guru. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap motivasi kerja dan kinerja guru. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah explanatory research dengan metode expost facto dengan pertimbangan bahwa penelitian yang dilaksanakan tergolong non eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah guru di SMA Negeri Kota Medan sebanyak 241 guru. Penelitian ini mengunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis infrensial. Hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai koefisien jalur antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap motivasi kerja guru sebesar 0,249 dan koefisien jalur antara kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap kinerja guru sebesar 0,156. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja dan kinerja guru.

Abstract

Abstract: Today’s educational issues include two things, namely: (1) educational practice is conducted without education science; and (2) the occurrence of several “mistake” of education. The problem is of course influenced by several factors that are very complex, among others, there are five main things that cause two things can happen, namely: (1) educators are not trained in advance to carry out tasks (untrained); (2) not well trained (undertrained); (3) are less concerned about their duties and obligations (uncommitted); (4) lower education facilities (under-facilitated); and (5) educators are underpaid so as to give rise to pragmatic educational attitudes and burden objections. The provision that educators are professionals carries the consequence that educators are required to meet their professional requirements. Education Institution of Education Personnel (LPTK) as an institution producing educators and educational staff very concerned conceptually-praxis as the center of orientation and guidance for the development and enforcement trilogy educator profession, namely: (1) basic educational scholarship; (2) the substance of the educator profession; and (3) the practice of educator profession to be mastered by educator candidates. Along with the development of the dynamics and challenges of education increasingly complex. Policies and regulations that continue to be simulated and implemented are now directed to deal with various dynamics developments and challenges. The efforts of professionalization of educators through various programs are also continuously conducted. The efforts being undertaken and carried out at this time of hope in the future leads to the birth of educator figures in which awaken the professional dignity based on: (1) useful service; (2) a commensurate exercise; and (3) get a healthy recognition from the government and the community.Abstrak: Permasalahan pendidikan dewasa ini mencakup dua hal, yaitu: (1) praktik pendidikan dilakukan tanpa didasari ilmu pendidikan; dan (2) terjadinya beberapa kecelakaan pendidikan. Permasalahan tersebut tentunya dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor yang sangat kompleks, antara lain ada lima hal pokok yang menyebabkan dua hal tersebut bisa terjadi, yaitu: (1) pendidik tidak dilatih terlebih dahulu untuk melaksanakan tugas-tugasnya (untrained); (2) tidak terlatih dengan baik (undertrained); (3) kurang peduli atas tugas dan kewajibannya (uncommitted); (4) fasilitas pendidikan rendah (under-facilitated); dan (5) pendidik dibayar rendah (underpaid) sehingga menimbulkan sikap pendidik yang pragmatis dan keberatan beban. Ketetapan bahwa pendidik adalah tenaga profesional membawa konsekuensi bahwa pendidik wajib memenuhi persyaratan profesionalnya. Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK) sebagai institusi penghasil pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan sangat berkepentingan secara konseptual-praksis sebagai pusat orientasi dan penuntun bagi pengembangan serta ditegakkannya trilogi profesi pendidik, yaitu: (1) dasar keilmuan pendidikan; (2) subtansi profesi pendidik; dan (3) praktik profesi pendidik yang harus dikuasi oleh calon pendidik. Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman dinamika dan tantangan dunia pendidikan semakin kompleks. Kebijakan dan regulasi yang terus digodok dan diimplementasikan saat ini diarahkan untuk menghadapi berbagai perkembangan dinamika dan tantangan yang terjadi. Upaya profesionalisasi pendidik melalui berbagai program juga terus dilakukan. Upaya-upaya yang sedang dilakukan dan dijalankan saat ini harapannya ke depan bermuara kepada lahirnya sosok-sosok pendidik yang di dalam dirinya terbangun kemartabatan profesi yang didasarkan atas: (1) pelayanan yang bermanfaat; (2) pelaksanaan yang bermandat; dan (3) mendapatkan pengakuan yang sehat dari pemerintah dan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal (1) the effect of pedagogic competence on teacher performance (2) the effect of work commitment on teacher performance. This research was conducted at public elementary schools in the city of Banda Aceh. The study population was all public elementary school teachers in the city of Banda Aceh totaling 481 people. Determination of the sample using the Slovin formula, with a total sample of 218 people. Data were collected using a questionnaire filled out by respondents from the teacher. The research analysis used descriptive analysis and inferential analysis with Path analysis. The results showed that: (1) Pedagogical Competence had a significant and significant influence on Teacher Performance, it was shown that ρ51 = 0.252 (2) Work Commitment had a significant influence on Teacher Performance, it was indicated that ρ52 = 0.566 6) The teacher performance model the findings of this study explained that the increase teacher performance can be done through pedagogic competence, work commitment, which will directly lead to better teacher performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out and examine : (1) the employee performance model built on associative causal relationships between exogenous variables and endogenous variables,, (2) the effect  of organizational culture on job motivation, (3) the effect of leadership on job motivation, (4) the effect of cognitive ability on job motivation, (5) the effect of organizational culture on employee performance, (6) the effect of leadership on employee performance (7) the effect of cognitive ability on employee performance, and (8) the effect of job motivation on employee performance. This research was conducted at Diskominfo office in North Sumatera by involving 139 employee as respondents. Data collection is done by using a questionnaire with five answer choices. The sampling technique were used proportional random sampling. The instruments were used first tried out to respondent outside the sample to obtain validity and reliability Instruments. Validity test uses Product Moment correlation, while to test its reliability with Alpha formula from Cronbach. Before testing the hypothesis, especially before the test is calculated, the requirements of the analysis include: normality data test and regression linearity test. The results showed (1) Obtained the employee performance model, (2) there is positive direct effect of organizational culture to job motivation, (3) there is positive direct effect of leadership to job motivation, (4) there is positive direct effect of cognitive ability to job motivation, (5) there is positive direct effect of organizational culture to employee performance, (6) there is positive direct effect of leadership to employee performance, (7) there is positive direct effect of cognitive ability to employee performance, and (8) there is positive direct effect of job motivation to employee performance. Based on the acceptance of the research hypothesis, it is found a fixed model that describes the structure of causal relationships between organizational culture, leadership, cognitive ability, job motivation and employee performance at Diskominfo office in North Sumatera.

Abstract

AbstrakProgram pendampingan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inovatif dalam pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar (SD) Kecamatan Medan Selayang Kota Medan. Kemampuan mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inovatif dalam pembelajaranmemerlukan keterampilan khusus dalam penerapannya. Menyikapi hal itu, dilakukan pendampingan kepada para guru agar mampu mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inovatif secara efektif sesuai tuntutan pembelajaran di SD. Metode pendampingan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap kegiatan, antara lain: persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan refleksi, serta tindak lanjut. Luaran yang dihasilkan melalui program pendampingan antara lain: buku panduan model pembelajaran inovatif di SD, guru model pengintegrasian model pembelajaran inovatif, dan artikel ilmiah yang dipublikasikan pada jurnal ber-ISSN online. Hasil program pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa meningkatnya kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan model pembelajaran inovatif dalam pembelajaran di SD Kecamatan Medan Selayang Kota Medan. Dengan demikian,  pendampingan yang dilakukan telah berjalan secara efektif dan sesuaidengan hasil yang diharapkan.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran inovatif, guru model, SD AbstractThis mentoring program aims to improve the ability of teachers in integrating innovative learning models in learning in elementary school (SD) Kecamatan Medan Selayang Medan. The ability to integrate innovative learning models in learning requires specific skills in their application. Responding to that, done by the teachers to be able to integrate innovative learning model effectively according to the demand of learning in elementary school. Methods of assistance are conducted through several stages of activity, including: preparation, implementation, evaluation and reflection, and follow-up. Outcomes generated through the mentoring program include: an innovative learning model guidebook in elementary school, teacher model of integrating innovative learning model, and scientific article published in ISSN online journal. The results of the devotion program indicate that the increasing ability of teachers in integrating innovative learning models in learning in SD Medan Selayang Sub-district Medan. Thus, the assistance performed has been run effectively and in accordance with the expected results.Keywords: innovative learning model, model teacher, elementary school

Abstract

ABSTRAKDalam upaya proses peningkatan kinerja mengajar guru dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah terhadap maksimalisasi kerjasama sekolah dengan stakeholder. Kinerja guru tentunya akan menunjang keberlansungan kerjasama yang akan dihasilkan dari kesepakatan yang telah dipimpin oleh kepala sekolah.Dengan demikian dibutuhkannya penelitian yang bertujuan: (a) untuk mengetahui kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, iklim kerja sekolah, dan kinerja guru dalam memaksimalisasi stakeholder (b) untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dan iklim kerja sekolah terhadap kinerja guru. Penelitian ini diberlakukan berdasarkan hasil observasi pada SMA Plus Al Azhar yang meliputi dimensi kepribadian, kemampuan pengambilan keputusan, kemampuan berkomunikasi, memberi  motivasi dan pendelegasian wewenang memberikan pengaruh cukup terhadap kinerja guru dalam mengambil peran terhadap kerjasama dengan stakeholder.  Iklim kerja sekolah mempunyai hubungan yang cukup berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru terhadap keberlangsungan kerjasama yang dilakukan. Kinerja mengajar guru berada pada kategori cukup baik. Kepemimpinan kepala sekolah berpengaruh  positif terhadap kinerja guru tetapi kurang cukup memotivasi kinerja guru dalam kegiatan yang berlangsung terhadap maksimalisasi peran guru terhadap kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh stakeholder dalam system administratif sekolah. Kata kunci:  Kinerja guru, kepemimpinan kepala sekolah, stakeholder

Abstract

The objectives of this study is the availability of standardized mini research assignment manuals for the student development subject as University courses that must be taken by all students in the first semester in all the Faculty in Medan State University. This research is a development research following the Borg and Gall models. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire that previously analyze by material and media experts. The trial questionnaire was given to 50 students of first semester of Mathematics Department and operational trials were given to 150 students who came from various majors such as the Department of Physics, Chemical Economics, Geography, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering with random sampling techniques. Data analysis techniques using quantitative descriptive analysis. The outputs of this research is the mini research task handbook for student development subjects for first semester students of Medan State University.Keywords: Mini Research, Guiding Book, Technology and Science.

Abstract

Teachers have a role that determines the success of learning, including in early childhood education (PAUD). Scientific learning is one of the recommended approaches in PAUD, but the competence of teachers in implementing it is still low even though they have attended various related trainings. Peer coaching is one of the professional development models inherent in the work of teachers, but teachers need to be prepared to apply it consistently and sustainably. The peer coaching model developed prepares teachers in a series of collaborations with fellow teachers starting from determining focus, making observations, reflecting on observations, providing inspiring feedback and actively making improvements and strengthening so as to ensure the continuity of the professional development of PAUD teachers. From the results of the development and internal testing of the model, it is proven that the model is feasible to be applied. The results of field trials also prove that the peer coaching model is effective in increasing the competence of PAUD teachers in implementing scientific learning through the three stages of the peer coaching cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bimbingan kelompok teknik diskusi terhadap mengurangi kebiasaan menonton film sinetron khususnya yang bertema percintaan remaja dan bertendensi negatif di kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Batang Kuis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (quasy experiment). Dengan desain pre-test dan post-test. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-6 yang berjumlah 9 orang. Instrumen pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan angket untuk mengetahui kebiasaan menonton film sinetron khususnya tentang tema percintaan remaja dan bertendensi negatif pada siswa. Angket diuji cobakan dan dianalisis untuk mendapatkan angket yang valid dan reliabel. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan bimbingan kelompok teknik diskusi berpengaruh terhadap mengurangi kebiasaan menonton film sinetron pada siswa di SMP Negeri I Batang Kuis. Hal ini tergambar dengan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 15,53 untuk responden sebanyak 9 orang diperoleh ttabel 2,306, tampak bahwa thitung > ttabel. Maka hipotesa alternatif yang diajukan diterima pada signifikan taraf 0,05%. Artinya ada pengaruh yang signifikan antara pelaksanaan bimbingan kelompok teknik Diskusi terhadap mengurangi kebiasaan menonton film sinetron khususnya tentang tema percintaan remaja dan bertendensi negatif di kelas VIII SMP Negeri I Batang KuisKata Kunci: Bimbingan Kelompok; Teknik Diskusi; Kebiasaan Menonton Film Sinetron

Abstract

This study aims to answer eight problems related to leadership effectiveness. It is realized that the quality of education in general and the achievement of students in particular is not a stand-alone thing, but it is the result of a learning process that is determined by various factors such as principals, teachers, students, curriculum, source books, libraries, laboratories, and facilities. other supports. The population of this study was the principal of a high school in Medan, amounting to 231 people. Sampling was carried out using a stratified proportional random sampling technique using the Cochran formula to produce a sample of 114 people. The research instrument used a questionnaire with a Likert. Research data is processed and analyzed by path analysis. The results of this study indicate that there is a direct effect of job design on managerial competence 0.5881; job design on achievement motivation 0.3105; job design on leadership effectiveness 0.2481; interpersonal communication on managerial competence 0.1428; interpersonal communication on achievement motivation 0.2573; interpersonal communication on leadership effectiveness 0.1779; teacher managerial competence on leadership effectiveness 0.1644; and achievement motivation on leadership effectiveness 0.1893. It can be stated that increasing the effectiveness of the principal's leadership can be done through job design, interpersonal communication, managerial competence, and achievement motivation.
