Abstract

One of the strategies to improve teachers' skills and professionalism is the practice of continuous professional development. To fulfill the demands of students and learning in the 21st century, teachers must have a strong foundation and knowledge of ongoing professional development. However, a-business-as-usual continuous professional development does not contribute to any significant improvements for teachers of junior high school in Pematangsiantar. The objective of this research was to develop a management model for teachers’ continuous development. This is carried out through competency-based training with a heutagogy approach. A development model called ADDIE, which stands for Analysis, Design, Develop, Implementation, and Evaluation was used to develop the management model. The subject of this research was 80 junior high school students in Pematangsiantar. They were divided into 30 and 50 people for the limited trial and the broad trial, respectively. Questionnaires were distributed as the instrument of data collection. The data was then analyzed using a statistical descriptive analysis technique. The research found that the effectiveness of the competency-based training management model was measured by the N-Gain score, in which the G-value was 0.79 and 0.82 for limited trial and broad trial, respectively, which was in the high category. The results of the assessment of the effectiveness of the model obtained an average value of 94%, which was in the "very good" category. The effectiveness of the training program was assessed from the aspects of reactions, learning, behavior, and results, and the results show that the assessment of the classroom action research training program obtained an average score of 92%, or a very good category, which means that the classroom action research training program is very effective in improving teachers’ competence. Abstract

Differences in student learning styles as part of individual characteristics that cause differences in student learning outcomes need to be considered in the learning process. This study aims to analyze the differences in the learning styles of high achieving students and students with scores below the KKM. This research is a qualitative research with a sample of 50 students of SMA Negeri 1 Aek Natas. Data collection techniques were carried out by giving questionnaires, interviews, and observation. Data analysis techniques were carried out using the Miles and Huberman methods. The results showed that for a visual learning style tendency of 28, students with a kinesthetic learning style tendency of 14, and students with an auditory learning tendency of 8. The learning style of achieving students with ratings 1-3 dominates the auditory where students prefer discussion and active in giving opinions to friends and teachers. The learning styles of students with grades below the KKM are all three. However, students prefer kinesthetic learning styles because the material is delivered practically so that students are more enthusiastic in learning activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangakan layanan Manajemen BK berbasis web yang valid, praktis, dan efektif guna membantu dan meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan jenis model ADDIE dan melibatkan 30 siswa sebagai sampel. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan kuesioner yang sudah divalidasi oleh ahli. Hasil penelitian ditemukan: 1) produk yang dihasilkan adalah aplikasi manajemen BK berbasis web yang dikembangkan sudah sangat valid, 2) hasil uji praktis menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 4,62 dengan kategori sangat, 3) hasil uji efektifitas berdasarkan nilai Cohen's adalah (56,97 - 33,43) / 1,357 = 0,78 yang dikategorikan efektif digunakan di SMA. Dengan demikian, produk yang dikembangkan berupa web manajemen BK ini dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk membantu dan memudahkan  mengolah dan mengakses data-data sekolah siswa.
