Abstract

The study is aimed to investigate the correlation between social skill and self adjustment of newcomer students at Veterinary Faculty University of Brawijaya. The research was conducted with 116 newcomer students of the Faculty of Veterinary University of Brawijaya as the subjects of the study. The Scale of social skills with 0,853 reliability and the scale of self adjustment with 0,844 reliability was used as the instrument of the study. The analysis used in this research was descriptive analysis and analysis of correlational. Based on the data analysis the results stated that; (1) 13,793 percent of the subjects had a higher category on the social skill, 69,827 percent of the subjects had a medium category, and 16,379 percent had a low category , (2) 15,517 percent of the subjects had a higher category on self- adjustment, 68,965 percent of the subjects had a medium category, and 15,517 percent of the subjects had a low category, (3) There is a positive correlation between the social skill and self- adjustment on the subjects of the study which results in correlation coefficient is (rxy) of 0,716 and p value of 0,000 (p less than 0,05). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan sosial dan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru pendatang di Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Brawijaya. Penelitian dilakukan pada 116 mahasiswa baru pendatang di Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Brawijaya. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu skala keterampilan sosial dengan reliabilitas 0,853 dan skala penyesuaian diri dengan reliabilitas 0,844. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis korelasional. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh hasil yaitu (1) Subjek yang memiliki keterampilan sosial dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 13,793 persen, subjek dengan kategori sedang sebesar 69,827 persen dan subjek dengan kategori rendah sebesar 16,379 persen, (2) Subjek yang memiliki tingkat penyesuaian diri dalam kategori tinggi sebesar 15,517 persen, subjek dengan kategori sedang sebesar 68,965 persen dan subjek dengan kategori rendah sebesar 15,517 persen, (3) Terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara keterampilan sosial dengan penyesuaian diri pada subjek penelitian yang menghasilkan koefisien korelasi (rxy) sebesar 0,716 dan p value sebesar 0,000 (p kurang dari 0,05).

Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to know the perception of the Risk in Driving with the Unsafe Behaviour done by the adolecents. This research is quantitative by using correlation method. The quantitative approach is a research method which the data of the research are in the form of figures and analyzed by using statistical. The results showed a significant correlation in the two variables. In general, based on the results, There was a significant negative correlation between the perception of the risk of accidents by Unsafe Behavior in SMA PGRI 6 Malang students i.e. -0.384 with a significance of p < 0.007. Thus, the hypothesis wss accepted , it means the lower the perceived risk of driving accidents in high school students PGRI 6 Malang the higher Unsafe Behavior on the students Keywords: The Risk of Accident Perception, Unsafe Behaviour in Traffic Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Persepsi Mengenai Risiko Kecelakaan Berkendara Dengan Perilaku Tidak Selamat Berlalu Lintas (Unsafe Behavior) Pada Remaja. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian korelasional, menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Pendekatan kuantitatif merupakan metode penelitian yang data penelitiannya berupa angka-angka dan analisisnya menggunakan stastistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan korelasi yang signifikan dalam dua variabel. Terdapat hubungan negatife yang signifikan antara Persepsi risiko kecelakaan berkendara dengan Perilaku tidak selamat (Unsafe Behavior) pada siswa SMA PGRI 6 Malng sebesar -0,384 dengan Signifikansi p<0,007 Dengan demikian hipotesis diterima, artinya semakin rendah Persepsi risiko kecelakaan berkendara pada siswa SMA PGRI 6 Malng maka akan semakin tinggi Perilaku Tidak Selamat (unsafe behavior) pada siswa tersebut. Abstract

This study aims to describe the self awareness that exists in sex workers mothers related to the way and awareness of themselves in providing sexual education for their children. This study uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological research model. Data collection techniques are done by interview and observation. Data analysis techniques using thematic analysis techniques. Checking the validity of the data is done by using interpretive validity by triangulating data. The study was conducted in the Gedangsewu red-light district in Pare with the number of subjects being 3 mothers who work as sex workers with a range of 9- 14 years old children and significant others totaling 3 people. Research shows that two subjects with female children say that providing sexual education for children is important to protect their children from negative environmental influences. While one subject with a male child stated that sexual education was not important given to her child because she considered that it was more important formal education and religious education. The results of the study explain that sex workers have a level of self-awareness capable of realizing the risks of their work, understanding the negative effects of the environment on children, and being able to set good examples to their children. Sexual education provided by mothers to children includes limiting who children associate with, regulating how to dress children, providing reproductive knowledge according to their abilities, and providing rules related to the association of children.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to reveal the multiple role conflict of undergraduate student who has been married and the solutions. This study used a qualitative method with case study model. Participants in this study were four married women who are still continuing their undergraduate study in Malang city. Data collection technique used was interview. The data analysis used is thematic analysis, while the validity is tested by using triangulation. The results of this study indicate that multiple role conflicts experienced by the married student are in the form of time-based conflict, strain-based conflict, and behaviour-based conflict. The multiple role conflict is caused by an additional role, the personality, the support of husband and parents, the demands of the environment, as well as the demands of the study task. The conflict management performed by the participants in this study is done through religious coping by doing worship, changing attitudes towards dual role, adjusting the time to do the dual role tasks, as well as relying on the dispensation of the study tasks.

Abstract

Masa remaja ditandai dengan perubahan fisik dan perubahan sosial yang dapat berdampak pada diri, salah satunya pada body image. Body image berkaitan dengan self esteem dan gratitude. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh self esteem dan gratitude terhadap body image secara parsial dan simultan pada remaja laki-laki. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah remaja laki-laki di Kota Malang. Sampel penelitian adalah 314 individu berusia 12–21 tahun yang berdomisili di Kota Malang dan berjenis kelamin laki-laki, yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah skala self esteem, skala gratitude, dan skala body image. Uji validitas dalam penelitian ini adalah validitas isi dan uji beda dihitung dengan menggunakan korelasi Pearson’s product moment. Reliabilitas instrumen berada pada kategori tinggi, dihitung menggunakan rumus Cronbach’s alpha. Analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu analisis deskriptif, analisis regresi linier sederhana, dan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self esteem dan gratitude berperan terhadap body image secara simultan dengan F sama dengan 86,556 dan p sama dengan 0,000 (p kurang dari 0,05). Secara parsial, diperoleh nilai p sama dengan 0,000 (p kurang dari 0,05) untuk self esteem dengan body image dan p sama dengan 0,000 (p kurang dari 0,05) untuk gratitude dengan body image. Oleh sebab itu, sebagai upaya agar remaja laki-laki memiliki positive body image, maka perlu dipertimbangkan langkah-langkah pencegahan atau intervensi secara psikologis maupun program mengenai strategi peningkatan self esteem dan gratitude.

Abstract

Correctional inmates who have to serve prison terms face various problems such as negative self-acceptance, limited freedom, negative feelings that arise, and negative stigma from the environment, which negatively impacts psychological well-being, so they need forgiveness and spirituality to improve psychological well-being. This research aims to determine the influence of forgiveness and spirituality on the psychological well-being of correctional inmates in the Kupang Class IIB Women’s Prison, both partially and simultaneously. The research method used is quantitative with a correlational type. The respondents of this research were 57 correctional inmates in the Kupang Class IIB Women’s Prison. The instruments used are the forgiveness, spirituality, and psychological well-being scales. The validity test in this research used content validity and instrument reliability using Cronbach’s alpha formula in the high category. Hypothesis testing uses simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The results obtained in this research show that forgiveness and spirituality simultaneously influence psychological well-being with an F value of 11.559 and p equal to 0.000 (p less than 0.05) with an effective contribution of 30 percent. Partially, forgiveness significantly influences psychological well-being by 28 percent, with p equal to 0.000 (p less than 0.05). Spirituality significantly influences psychological well-being by 11.7 percent, with p equal to 0.009 (p less than 0.05).

Abstract

Previous studies have indicated that psychological well-being has a positive contribution to mental health and is a predictor of academic achievement, self-control, life satisfaction, gratitude, optimism, hope, and happiness. Psychological well-being is also influenced by social support and religiosity. This study aimed to examine the effect of social support on students’ psychological well-being, with religiosity as a moderator. This study employed a correlational research design with 354 participants recruited using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a social support scale, a religious scale, and a psychological well-being scale. The data were then analyzed using moderated regression analysis. The results showed that social support contributed significantly to the psychological well-being of students, but religiosity did not increase the contribution of social support to psychological well-being. Based on these results, social support, one of which can be provided through peer counseling, is needed to improve the psychological well-being of students.
