Abstract

Belimbing wuluh is a tropical tree that grows as a wild tree or planted because it contains many benefits. Belimbing wuluh is useful as traditional medicine and has secondary metabolite compounds such as tannins, flavonoids and saponins that function as insecticides. This study aims to determine the potential of Belimbng wuluh leaf extract as a natural insecticide against Fall armyworm (S. frugiperda) and to determine the concentration that can kill 50% of Fall armyworms (LC50). The method used for this research is a completely randomized design (CRD), Belimbing wuluh leaf extract made by maceration method. The concentration of the extract used was 0%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. The test larvae used were 40 tails. The parameters observed were mortality and speed of death. The result of this study showed that the number of Fall armyworm deaths was 66 from the total number of 120 larvae. This proves that Belimbing wuluh leaf extract has the potential as a natural insecticide against Fall armyworm (S. frugiperda). Based on probit analysis the effective concentration to kill 50% of Fall armyworm larvae was 59,9%. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kemampuan larva T. molitor pada tingkatan instar 4, 6 dan 8 dalam mendegradasi limbah masker medis surgical yang dicampur ampas tahu dan dedak padi serta melihat pertambahan bobot badan larva. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimen menggunakan Metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (RALF) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali penggulangan masing-masing instar. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Larva T. molitor pada instar 6 memiliki laju degradasi tertinggi yaitu 2,39 gr/hari dibandingkan instar 4 dan instar 8 dengan pakan masker yang dicampur dengan ampas tahu (P1). Sedangkan untuk laju degradasi terendah yaitu pada instar 4 yaitu sebesar 0,01 gr/hari, dengan pakan masker tanpa dicampur limbah organik. Pemberian pakan kombinasi pada larva menyebabkan perubahan yang signifikan terhadap bobot badan larva. Hubungan pakan yang terdegradasi dengan pertambahan bobot badan pada instar 4 dikategorikan sedang yaitu memiliki nilai korelasi (r) = 0,579 gr/hari dan instar 6 dikategorikan sedang juga karena memiliki nilai korelasi (r) = 0,509 gr/hari,sedangkan instar 8 memiliki korelasi (r) = 0,221 gr/hari dikatakan lemah dan tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertambahan bobot badan.

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a crucial plant for Indonesia's economy, serving as a major non-oil foreign exchange earner. A significant pest affecting oil palm cultivation, especially during replanting, is the rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes rhinoceros L.). Attractant pheromones, derived from pineapples, contain volatile compounds that attract insects. This research aims to develop an automated rhinoceros beetle trap equipped with an automatic pheromone spray system utilizing natural peel pineapple extract. The analysis includes tests for fluid density, spray distribution, and normality. The fluid density of the sample closely resembles that of water (1 g/cm³). Spray distribution results indicate particle sizes (60-112 μm) larger than airborne aerosols (0.001-50 μm). Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality tests reveal mostly normal data distribution, with minor deviations. Overall, this trap exhibits promise as an effective solution for rhinoceros beetle control in oil palm cultivation.

Abstract

SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pekanbaru merupakan salah satu institusi sekolah menengah atas yang dikelola oleh Majelis Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah (Dikdasmen) Pimpinan Daerah Muhammadiyah kota Pekanbaru. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan Kepala Sekolah dan Guru IPA SMA MUTU Pekanbaru tentang pembelajaran IPA ditemukan beberapa permasalahan diantaranya: belum ada media alternatif yang tepat, relevan dengan kompetensi dasar untuk mendukung pembelajaran IPA dan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi multimedia dalam pembelajaran IPA masih kurang. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian di SMA MUTU Pekanbaru ini adalah PkM yang dilaksanakan berupa pendampingan mitra menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET sebagai solusi inovatif pembelajaran pada masa pandemi secara luring dan daring. Pendampingan penggunaan simulasi interaktif PhET bagi guru IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 di kota Pekanbaru sebagai solusi inovatif pembelajaran pada masa pandemi berjalan lancar, memperoleh respons yang positif, mampu meningkatkan keterampilan dan rasa percaya diri guru. Selama pelatihan berlangung, guru-guru antusias, peserta berperan aktif selama workshop berlangsung, peserta berperan aktif selama pendampingan, peserta aktif bertanya mengenai materi yang di paparkan, peserta banyak meminta materi diluar modul yang di sediakan.. Beberapa indikator keberhasilan dalam pelatihan ini diantaranya meningkatnya pemahaman guru tentang simulasi interaktif PhET, mampu menggunakan simulasi interaktif PhET, peningkatan kualitas dan profesionalisme guru.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui posisi, warna, bentuk dan ukuran telur calon ratu H. itama. Pengamatan dilakukan pada 4 kotak yang dipilih secara purposive sampling dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa posisi telur calon ratu H.itama berada pada bagian tengah-tengah sarang yang merupakan area paling terlindungi dan biasanya memiliki kondisi yang stabil serta memudahkan lebah pekerja untuk memberikan perawatan yang lebih baik seperti pemberian makanan. Telur calon H.itama berbentuk oval dan berwarna krem untuk lapisan bagian atas, sedangkan pada lapisan bagian bawah berwarna coklat muda. Telur calon ratu H.itama memiliki ukuran yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan telur calon pekerja atau pejantan. Ukuran rata-rata panjang telur calon ratu yang diamati yaitu 0,8 cm dan memiliki lebar rata-rata berkisar antara 0,5-0,6 cm. Kata kunci: Heterotrigona itama, telur calon ratu, karakteristik Characteristics of eggs of prospective queen Heterotrigona itama in cultivated colonies in the Imbo Putui customary forest, Kampar Abstract: This study aims to determine the position, color, shape and size of the eggs of the prospective queen H. itama. Observations were made in 4 boxes selected by purposive sampling using quantitative descriptive methods. The results of the study showed that the position of the eggs of the prospective queen H. itama is in the middle of the nest which is the most protected area and usually has stable conditions and makes it easier for worker bees to provide better care such as feeding. The eggs of the prospective H. itama are oval and cream-colored for the top layer while the bottom layer is light brown. The eggs of the prospective queen H. itama are larger than the eggs of the prospective workers or males. The average length of the eggs of the prospective queen observed was 0.8 cm and had an average width ranging from 0.5 cm - 0.6 cm. Abstract

Information on stingless bee diversity in customary forest of Imbo Putui is still lacking so there is no data of stingless bees in the forest.  The purpose of this study was to identify the species of stingless bees found in Imbo Putui customary forest. The search for stinglees bee nests was carried out using exploration method in three predetermined areas. The area was roadside (Zone I), inside the forest (Zone II), and around the river and oil palm plantation (Zone III). Data analysis was carried out quantitative descriptive. The result of the study found 7 species of stingless bees, 4 species of which with majority conservation status were found, namely Heterotrigona itama, Tetragonula laeviceps (yellow, black), Tetragonula drescheri and Tetragonilla collina. Meanwhile minority species found are Tetragonula iridepennis, Homotrigona fimbriata and Tetragonula testaceitarsis. Base on presence of 3 species that are classified as minorities found,  it can be conclude that the ecosystem of Imbo Putui customary forest is  still maintained and has not experienced significant changes.

Abstract

Microplastics are the result of degradation and fragmentation originating from plastics with a size of <5 mm. Currently, many people use broiler chicken intestines which are possibly contaminated by microplastics as food for pomfret (Colossoma macropomum) in floating net cages (KJA). The purpose of this study was to determine the number and type of microplastics present in the intestines of broiler chickens and the digestive tract of pomfret cages (C. macropomum) and to see the correlation level of the presence of microplastics in the digestive tract of pomfret (C. macropomum) fed using intestines. broiler chicken. The method used in this study was purposive sampling for the sampling of pomfret cages (C. macropomum). A sampling of broiler chicken intestines was carried out at random from KJA fish cultivators in Teluk Kenidai Village. The results obtained were microplastics of film type, fiber, and fragments found in the intestines of broiler chickens and the digestive tract of pomfret (C. macropomum). The number of microplastics found in broiler chicken intestines was 322 film particles, 112 fiber particles, and 52 fragment particles. While in the digestive tract of pomfret (C. macropomum) 343 are film particles, 203 fiber particles, and 63 fragment particles. The relationship between the presence of microplastics in the digestive tract of pomfret (C. macropomum) fed with broiler chicken intestines has a very strong relationship with a correlation value of 0.952.

Abstract

Imbo Putui Customary Forest supports high biodiversity, including stingless bees; however, data regarding the specific morphology of their nest entrances in this region remain limited. This study aimed to characterize the entrance funnel length, diameter, nest height, color, shape, and nesting habitat conditions of stingless bees in Imbo Putui Forest. The study employed a survey method with purposive sampling across three zones: roadside (Zone I), forest interior (Zone II), and riparian/oil palm plantation areas (Zone III). Eight stingless bee species were identified: Heterotrigona itama, Tetragonula laeviceps (black and yellow), Tetragonilla collina, Tetragonula drescheri, Tetragonula testaceitarsis, Tetragonula iridipennis, and Homotrigona fimbriata. Nest measurements indicated funnel lengths of 1–27 cm, entrance diameters of 5–20 mm, and nest heights ranging from 1 cm to 1000 cm. Morphologically, the nest entrances were predominantly round or oval in shape, with colors consistently ranging from brownish black to grayish brown.
