Abstract

Cervical cancer can be recognized at the pre-cancer stage by doing early detection test in married women. One of the cervical cancer early detection methods is Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (IVA) test. The coverage of the early detection of cervical cancer through IVA test method in 2023 was still very low. There was 1.37% from the national target of 50%.  The research aims to know the determinants of cervical cancer early detection behavior by using the IVA test method in the work area of Jetak Community Health Center. The method was observational analytical research with cross-sectional study design. The population of the study was all women of fertile couple in working are Jetak Community Health Center, Montong Distric, which amounted to 5508 women. The research sample was 246 women of fertile (who were collected using accidental sampling techniques with the inclusion criteria of married women of fertile 30 – 50 years old: The result showed that there was a direct and indirect relationship from attitudes, subjective norm and behavioral control as well as intentions towards behavior, which were very significant.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant public health issue characterized by chronic malnutrition, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life. This literature review investigates the correlation between protein intake in children aged 6–12 months and the prevalence of stunting. Utilizing a systematic review method following the PRISMA protocol, eight relevant articles published between 2020 and 2025 were analyzed. Findings consistently show that stunted children have lower overall protein and essential amino acid intake, particularly from animal sources, compared to their non-stunted peers. Inadequate dietary diversity, low family income, maternal education, and poor breastfeeding and complementary feeding practices emerged as key contributing factors to stunting. Despite abundant protein resources in some regions, cultural practices and limited nutritional knowledge often hinder adequate protein consumption. This review highlights the critical role of protein, especially animal-based protein, in preventing stunting and underscores the need for integrated strategies to improve dietary intake and socioeconomic conditions among vulnerable population.

Abstract

Anemia in adolescents is a serious public health problem because adolescence is an important developmental period in the life of every individual, where adolescence is experiencing biological, psychological and behavioral changes that affect their health. Factors that contribute to the incidence of anemia in adolescents include lack of iron intake in food, unbalanced diet, the habit of skipping breakfast, and lack of awareness of the importance of clean and healthy living behavior. Anemia is diagnosed with the examination of hemoglobin (Hb) in the blood. It is said to have Mild Anemia if Hb is 11 - 11.9 gr / dl, Moderate Anemia if Hb is 8 - 10.9 gr / dl and Severe Anemia if Hb <8 gr / dl. This anemia screening is carried out by examining Hemoglobin levels with the POCT method. The results of the screening carried out at SMK PGRI 2 Tuban, East Java, which were carried out on 70 female students showed that 4 (5.71%) female students were detected as having anemia.

Abstract

Maternal and child health issues are one aspect that needs attention. One of the problems that arise is pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (CED) caused by a lack of energy intake from macronutrients and micronutrients. The objective of this study is to analyze factors related to the incidence of CED in pregnant women. The method used a library research method by critically reviewing academic-oriented literature. There were 6 research journals adjusted to the literature review problem. The result showed that the prevalence of chronic energy deficiency risk increased in all age groups and conditions of women (pregnant and non-pregnant). In non-pregnant women aged 15-19 years, the prevalence increased by 15.7%. Likewise, in pregnant women aged 45-49 years, it increased by 15.1%. Suggestions addressed to health workers are expected to increase health education efforts in the form of counseling on the dangers of CED in pregnant women and other materials related to the importance of fulfilling nutrition in pregnant women, as well as increasing community empowerment to achieve coverage of pregnancy checks by health workers.

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. TB can attack the lungs and can attack all parts of the body. TB is one of the top 10 causes of death and the main cause of one infectious agent. This study is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. The results showed that the majority of respondents were female, highly educated (high school and above), were partners of TB patients, had a good level of knowledge, the distance from their residence to the Health Center was close, and they had received education from health workers. Variables related to the receipt of TB preventive therapy in TB household contacts were gender, education level, knowledge level, distance between residence and, and education about TPT from health workers. Variables that were not related were the age and kinship of respondents with TB patients. It can be concluded that out of 7 independent variables, there are 5 variables related to TPT.
