Abstract

Flexibility is ability of a joint, muscles and ligaments around it to move freely and comfortably within the maximum expected range of motion. Flexibility is influenced by many factors such as anatomical condition, gender, body mass index, age, physical activity, injury, and training experience. The hamstring muscles are primarily fast-twitch and powerful movement types, so that the hamstrings are resistant to overloading but tire quickly on excessive repetitions. Excessive activity that involves contracting the hamstring muscles will cause the hamstring muscles to experience decreased flexibility. The purpose of this study was to prove the difference in the effect of giving neurodynamic slider and neurodynamic tension on increasing hamstring muscle flexibility. The method of research is experimental research with pre-test and post-test research design with control group design. The sample in this study was 32 dancers Rantaya Putri Alus at SMK N 8 Surakarta. where Group 1 given neurodynamic sliders and group 2 given nothing. Neurodynamic slider interventions were given 3 times/week for 4 weeks. Evaluation of hamstring muscle flexibility measurements using Active Knee Extension (AKE). The result in the treatment Group 1 is p = 0.000 (p <0.05) with a mean difference of 25.56 ± 7.36 with an increase in the AKE value 18.16%. Its concluded that the intervention of neurodynamic sliders can increase hamstring muscle flexibility.

Abstract

Abstract

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is described as a developmental disorder characterized by symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. ADHD can be classified into three subtypes depending on the intensity of symptoms: inattention dominant, hyperactive-impulsive dominant, and combined. Preschool age, also known as early childhood, is the age when growth patterns develop rapidly. The golden period is when children younger than six years old acquire excellent skills, such as perception, interaction, and speaking. During this period, children learn to process information quickly, become reliable models, become smarter and smarter than what they see, and form the basis for the formation of their attitudes and knowledge. The study was conducted with the parents of Posyandu Balita Cempaka 4 Sudiroprajan members as the participants. Based on the pretest and posttest analysis, it could be seen that after health education about early detection in children, the parents' knowledge increased. In addition, play therapy methods were used to prevent cases of ADHD in children, reducing the case rate from 10% to 100% good knowledge.

Abstract

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a common spinal deformity affecting children aged 10–18 years. Various treatment approaches, including specific exercises, bracing, surgery, traction, casting, and biofeedback, have been implemented to manage AIS. However, posture correction exercises remain a non-invasive rehabilitation strategy with the potential to prevent scoliosis progression and improve functional outcomes.Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of posture correction exercises in reducing vertebral curvature deformity and improving functional abilities in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 30 students aged 10–15 years diagnosed with AIS. Participants underwent a four-week supervised posture correction exercise program. The primary outcome, vertebral curvature deformity, was assessed using the Adam’s Forward Bending Test, while changes in vertebral inclination angle were measured using a Scoliometer. All data were documented through structured questionnaires. Results: The findings revealed a statistically significant reduction in vertebral inclination angle following the intervention (p<0.001), indicating the effectiveness of posture correction exercises as part of scoliosis-specific rehabilitation programs. Conclusion: Posture correction exercises significantly reduce vertebral curvature deformity and enhance functional capabilities in adolescents with AIS. These findings support their integration into physiotherapy programs as a non-invasive rehabilitative and preventive approach for scoliosis management.
