Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify the coffee supply chain, value added analysis received by the supply chain actors, and arrange alternative strategies by evaluating the internal and external factors to determine strategic priorities for CV Kiniko development. This study used descriptive quantitative and qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative used to describe the coffee supply chain using Vorst’s framework for chain design and set alternative strategies for CV Kiniko development by the internal factors evaluation and external factors evaluation matrix using SWOT analysis and rating the strategic priorities for CV Kiniko development using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Descriptive quantitative used for measuring value added using Hayami method. The coffee supply chain started from the coffee farmers, coffee middleman, CV Kiniko, distributor and sales. The value added ratio of the actors as follow: coffee farmers 32% (medium value added ratio category), coffee middleman 4% (low value added ratio category) and CV Kiniko 55% (high value added ratio category). The strategic priorities that CV Kiniko has to do to improve the value added is expand the marketing networks by using the development of technology and information (0.358). Keywords: coffee, supply chain, value added, SWOT, AHP

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to determine the oil palm liquid waste management system and to obtain palm oil liquid waste management strategy carried out by PT. Inti Indosawit Subur. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative research methods. The research implementation consists of data collection, data processing, SWOT analysis (strength weekness opportunity treath) and priority strategy setting. Types of data in this study are primary data obtained by conducting interviews and observations and secondary data obtained from literature studies. The data analysis used is SWOT analysis andpair comparison. The results showed that the palm oil mill effluent treatment at WWTP used a waste pool system (Biological Pound System), totaling 11 ponds. The data result of measuring the parameters of the palm oil mill effluent (POME) obtained from UPT Construction Materials Laboratory Riau show the produced palm oil mill effluent is still above the quality standard stipulated in KepMenLH No.5 of 2014. Quadrant SWOT is in quadrant I with value internal factor position index and external is 1.163 and 0.695. Determination of priority strategies which used the pair comparison method is obtains strategy utilization of palm oil mill effluent into biogas and fertilizer according to the regulations for the development of sustainable palm oil processing is the top priority with a score 0.484.Keywords:   POME, SWOT, Pair Comparison

Abstract

Eucalyptus pellita leaf essential oil has antibacterial activity so it can be used as an additive to liquid soap.  This study aimed to determine the inhibitory power of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli in liquid soap of E. pellita leaf essential oil.  This research used a Complete Randomized Design with five treatments and three replications.  The treatments were addition of essential oils in consecutive P1(1,15 ml), P2 (1,19 ml), P3 (1,22 ml), P4 (1,30 ml), and P5 (1,35 ml).  The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5%.  The results showed that addition of E. pellita essential oils significantly affected the density, viscosity, free alkali, degree of acidity (pH), antibacterial test, and flavor of the liquid soap.  The best treatment of liquid soap in this research was P5 (addition Eucalyptus pellita essential oil 1,35 ml) which had density 1.07 g/ml g/ml, viscosity 195.87 Cp, free alkali 0.20%, pH 9.80.  Antibacterial activity against S. aureus of 15.65 mm and E. coli of 12.91mm.The result of descriptive test of liquid soap showed that the soap has the aroma of E.  pellita and the hedonic test for aroma was favored by the panelists.Keywords: Eucalyptus pellita, essential oil, liquid soap, antibacterial.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the flow of supply chain and added value of rubber and determined the priority of supply chain strategies at PT. Andalas Agrolestari. This study was conducted at PT. Andalas Agrolestari Kuantan Singingi District Riau Province. The research methods used were qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive. The respondents in this study consisted 3 farmers, 2 collectors, 3 employees of PT. Andalas Agrolestari, 2 civil servants of Agriculture Department, and Singingi sub-district head. This research showed the supply chain of rubber at PT. Andalas Agrolestari in Kuantan Singingi included farmers, collectors, PT. Andalas Agrolestari to consumers. Value added farmer was 1,037 IDR and included in the value added ratio of 55% (high category), collector was 448 IDR with the value added ratio of  5% (low category), and PT Andalas Agrolestari was 4,223 IDR with the value added ratio of  30% (medium category). The internal factor evaluation matrix has a total score of 2.5440, while the external factor evaluation matrix has a total score of 2.4128. The results of the supply chain management strategyat PT. Andalas Agrolestari with the AHP method showed that the chosen quantity with the weight of 0.279 and the chosen main alternative is to expand thecrumb rubber’s marketing and maximize the absorption of raw material with the weight of 0.163.Keywords : Rubber, Supply Chain, Added Value, SWOT, Analytical Hierarchy Process

Abstract

Oil palm empty bunches are one of the solid wastes from the processing of fresh fruit bunches that have not been used optimally.  This study aims to obtain the best concentration of resin adhesives in the manufacture of particleboard from oil palm empty fruit bunches.  The research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications in order to obtain 15 experimental units with a particle size of 16 meshof oil palm empty bunches.  Treatment of oil palm empty bunches with adhesive is 90%: 10%, 88%: 12%, 86%: 14%, 84%: 16%, 82%: 18%.  The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the 5% level.  The results showed that the composition of the empty fruit bunches of oil palm and resin adhesive significantly affected the density, water absorption, thickness expansion, elasticity modulus, and fracture modulus, but had no significant effect on moisture content.The best treatment chosen was treatment P5 with a density value of 0.85 g/cm3, water content of 5.81%, water absorption 61%, thickness development 53.33%, modulus of elasticity 1.607.46 kgf/cm2, modulus of fracture 14.52 kgf/cm2. Keywords: Particle board, oil palm empty bunches, resin adhesive

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to obtain best consentration of CaO catalyst chicken eggshell in transesterification process on quality of biodiesel produced from pangi seed oil. The treatment of CaO catalyst consentrations in this research were S1 (1%), S2 (1.5%), S3 (2%), S4 (2.5%), and S5 (3%). The collected data were statistically analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) continued by Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) test at 5% level. The parameters observed were acid value, density, iodium value, saponification value, and cetana number. The results of analysis showedthat consentration of CaO catalyst chicken eggshell gaveunsignificantlyaffect on acid value and cetana number but significantly affect on density, iodium value, saponification valueof biodiesel. The chosen treatment in this research was S5 (CaO catalyst 3%). The treatment of S5 has yield 97.989% with characteristics acid value 0.682 mg KOH/g, density 885.220 kg/m3, iodium value 81.414 g I2/100 g, saponification value 179.00 mg KOH/g, and cetana number 58.473.  Keywords: biodiesel, catalyst CaO, pangi seed oil

Abstract

Increasing need of energy and decreasing of fuel supply requires human to discover alternative energy resources. Consequently, there should be a research to discover a new renewable energy source such as durian fruit leather. Durian is biomass that has great potential for bio-briquet. This research aims to discover the precise adhesive consentration rate in sago’s starch , which are 3%, 5%, and 7%. Based on analytical result of durian leather charcoal briquet research, the best quality briquet is the P1 consentration which composed rate are 3%, has 4.04% water content, 19.14% ashes content, 5.502 cal/g heat value, and 0.0017 g/sekoncombustion rate. Keywords: briquet, durian fruit leather, sago starch.

Abstract

This research was aimed to obtain the best soaking time of banana peel in sodium metabisulfite for the manufacture of edible horn banana peel starch film. This research is conducted byfour treatments andfourreplications. The treatment used was KP1 (soaking time of 24 hours), KP2 (soaking time of 26 hours), KP3 (soaking time of 28 hours) and KP4 (soaking time of 30 hours) The treatments of selected in this research was KP4 with yield of 1.9075%, thickness of 0.0829 mm, transparency of 0.05625, water vapor transmission rate of 28.0436 g/m2/hour, solubility of 22.2859%, tensile strength of 1.5287 MPa, elongation of 47.5808%, and descriptive color score of 4.5000 (not brown). Keywords:Edible film, banana horn peel, sodium metabisulfite

Abstract

This research aims to analyze supply chain flows, marketing channels, marketing margins, marketing share, marketing efficiency and find out the most efficient marketing network for copra commodities in Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative including supply chain flow analysis and quantitative descriptive by calculating marketing margin, marketing share and marketing efficiency. Respondents in this study were 5 farmers, 3 collectors and 1 wholesaler. Respondents in this study were 5 farmers, 3 collectors and 1 wholesaler. The results showed that the copra supply chain in Harapan Tani Village, Kempas District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, exist 2 supply chain networks, network 1: farmers - collectors traders and network 2: farmers - collectors - wholesalers, and 3 streams managed, product flow, flow of money and flow of information. Network I, farmer’s have a marketing margin was6.066 IDR, the value of farmer shareis 66,73%, and the value of marketing efficiency is 23,72%.  Network II, farmer’s have a marketing margin was6.200 IDR, the value of farmer shareis 66,24%, and the value of marketing efficiency is 25,35%.  Collectors traders have a marketing margin of 4.867 IDR and the value of farmer shareis 73,50%. Keywords: copra, supply chain, marketing margin, marketing efficiency, marketingshare

Abstract

CV Gaharu Plaza Indonesia is one of the few companies that processes agarwood in the Riau province. Poor marketing systems causes the product to be unable to compete in the market. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyse the supply chain management system of agro-industry and efficient marketing channels at CV Gaharu Plaza Indonesia. This research was observed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used to analyse the mechanism of supply chains. Descriptive quantitative is used for measuring added value and marketing efficiency. Marketing efficiency can be determined by calculating marketing margin, farmer’s share and marketing efficiency. The value added of the actors are as follows: agarwood farmer (86%), CV Gaharu Plaza Indonesia (88%) and distributor (25%). Agarwood tea’s marketing consist of 3 channels, channel 2 is the efficient channel consisting of marketing margin IDR 7000, farmer’s share 65% and marketing efficiency 8%. Keywords: agarwood tea, supply chain, Hayami method, farmer’s share, marketing efficiency
