Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penderita hipertensi perlu mengontrol tekanan darah melalui asupan makanan yang tepat. DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) merupakan salah satu diet yang dianjurkan JNC 7 untuk menurunkan tekanan darah tinggi. Penggunaan media audiovisual dalam edukasi gizi mempermudah seseorang untuk memahami materi dan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas edukasi diet DASH dengan media audiovisual terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap penderita hipertensi di wilayah Kecamatan Pasar Rebo.Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi experimental design dengan rancangan pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design, yang dilaksanakan pada bulan April-Juni 2021. Subyek penelitian adalah penderita hipertensi di wilayah Kecamatan Pasar Rebo terdiri atas kelompok kontrol dan kelompok intervensi, dengan total 84 penderita hipertensi. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test, mann-whitney, paired t-test dan wilcoxon test.Hasil: Hasil Penelitian menunjukan, pengetahuan dan sikap penderita hipertensi sebelum mendapatkan edukasi tidak berbeda secara signifikan (p-value0.05) pada kelompok kontrol dan intervensi. Setelah diberikan edukasi audiovisual terjadi peningkatan skor pengetahuan: 1.396±1.125 dan sikap: 4.588±3.094 terkait diet DASH pada penderita hipertensi (p-value: 0.000) di kelompok intervensi. Saat follow-up setelah 2 minggu pasca intervensi, terdapat pula peningkatan skor pengetahuan 1.125±1.124 dan sikap 3.094±3.714 terhadap diet DASH (p-value0.05).Kesimpulan: Edukasi diet DASH menggunakan media audiovisual efektif terhadap perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap penderita hipertensi di wilayah Kecamatan Pasar Rebo. Penggunaan metode ini dapat memudahkan peserta untuk menonton ulang video dan mempertahankan pengetahuan dan sikap penderita hipertensi terhadap diet DASH.

Abstract

Anemia is well known as micronutrient deficiency, called hidden hunger. West Java has a high prevalence of anemia. The nutrition education program about anemia has been conducted, but the increment was not satisfactory. 10 of 15 female students in Bojong Gede State Vocational School showed a symptom of anemia. Our activity aims to evaluate the effect of a nutrition education program on anemia and reproduction health’ knowledge. This community program was conducted online using power point, video, and games media on 30 students of Bojong Gede State Vocational School, Bogor. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the activity was analyzed using pre and post-tests regarding the knowledge of young women regarding anemia. Statistical analysis used is the Mann-Whitney test. Students' knowledge scores about anemia on the first day increased from 63.21±15.17 to 71.43±13.08 (p = 0.001), and on the second day from 57.14 ± 13.26 to 82.86±17.29 (p = 0.000). More specific topics about healthy food are more attractive to teenagers than more general and contextual topics. Therefore, the practical and applicable knowledge is considered suitable for increasing students' knowledge, especially if it is simultaneously conducted

Abstract

.Malnutrition among underfive children is closely related to adequate intake in the first 1000 days of life; starting with breastfeeding and complementary foods. Failure to meet food intake in children over the age of two can result in irreversible growth retardation. This community service activity was carried out in Sukanagalih Cianjur Village in August 2023. This activity empowered women's groups to increase knowledge about complementary foods and make local-based recipes for complementary foods. Community service activities began with a local food survey in the surrounding environment, implementation of a nutrition education program, and a demonstration of the process of cooking complementary foods for breast milk, followed by a group competition for mothers and recording of all recipes made by the community. From 40 participants, knowledge of 22 mothers who took part in the activity, were assessed through a pre-posttest questionnaire. The pre and post test results were collected and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test by considering the distribution of the data. The results showed that there was an increase in mother's knowledge regarding the processing and nutritional content of good Complementary Food for under-five with a median score of 75 to 80 (p-value: 0.039). Participants also started to feel confident with their recipe creations to improve the nutritional status of children around the village. The food ingredients in the recipe are also easy to obtain so they have the potential to be used for the monthly cycle complementary food menu at Posyandu

Abstract

Cianjur is potential province for vegetables and fruit commodities compared to other Java provinces. Despite abundant crop production, stunting prevalence among under-five is high, while the dietary diversity score was low. To prevent and overcome nutritional problems, a strategy is required to improve dietary diversity consumption patterns. The participant in this community service activity in Sukanagalih Village, Cianjur mothers, and students of PAUD. Participants are expected to gain more knowledge about the benefits of fruit and vegetable consumption and balanced diet. Further, it would enhance their motivation to utilize the home yard to grow vegetables and fruit. The activities are nutrition education in the classroom about the nutritional value in my plate, guidelines for balanced diet, and the adequacy of vegetables and fruit, continue with seed planting activities, and games. The number of participants in this activity is 22 pairs of mothers and children. Data analysis on nutrition knowledge scores of mothers was using the Wilcoxon signed rank test. The results showed that 59% of mothers experienced increased nutrition knowledge. The median mother's knowledge score on the pre-test was 64.3 ± 15.8 and the post-test was 71.4 ± 9.9 with a p-value > 0.05. This shows that nutrition education for short duration is not sufficient to increase the mother's knowledge. The enthusiasm of mothers and students in participating in counseling and planting seeds activities is very high. However, longer duration and frequency of activities and the use of local languages are necessary for more significant result.

Abstract

The disturbance in performing Poyandu routine activities in Puskesmas Bojong Menteng and face-to-face Cadre refresher during COVID-19 pandemic might reduce cadres' motivation and knowledge. A virtual education program through webinars is one of the possible solutions. This community service activity aims to analyze the effects of webinar on nutrition through zoom meeting on cadres' motivation and knowledge regarding 1) the role of cadres during the pandemic, 2) prevention of COVID-19 with balanced nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene, and physical activity and 3) introduction to Ms. Excel application in smartphone. The webinars were given in 2 days with delivering a pre- and post-test evaluation. The statistical analysis used was Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Participants were 33 Cadres. Cadres have received technical guidance to use the zoom application on their smartphone prior to the webinar schedule. The majority of cadres are in the age of 31-45 years old (45.5%) and have graduated from high school (63.6%). Result shows that the mean of Cadre’s score on knowledge and motivation had increased from 65 to 85 and 90 to 100 (p:<0.05). This concludes that webinars could be a potential way to refresh and educate Posyandu cadres during a pandemic

Abstract

Anemia in adolescent girls aged 15-17 years is one of the main health problems in developing countries, especially in Indonesia. Knowledge and attitudes of adolescents and their mothers about anemia can affect their iron consumption. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of students and mothers about anemia with iron consumption in female adolescent. This is a cross-sectional study with a random sampling technique. Respondents were 67 pairs of female adolescents and their mothers. Collecting data in this study by filling out a knowledge and attitude questionnaire about anemia, and iron consumption was measured by food recall 2 x 24 hours. Data analysis in this study used the chi-square test.  The results showed that adolescents with insufficient iron intake were 34.2%. 47,8% of adolescent girls and 44,8% of mothers have less knowledge about anemia. Meanwhile, the attitudes of female adolescents and mothers towards anemia were not good at 19.4% and 38.8%. Statistical analysis revealed that female adolescents with high knowledge (p-value: 0.000) and positive attitude (0.021) were more likely to consume high iron intake. Mothers' knowledge about anemia also showed the same result (p-value: 0.039), but not with their attitude (p-value = 0.969). In conclusion, female adolescents knowledge and attitudes in term of anemia are important in maintaining adequate iron intake.

Abstract

Indonesia is classified as having a high risk of obesity in school-age children and adolescents who are predicted to become obese by 2030. This study aimed to identify the determinant factors of obesogenic conditions and eating behavior of urban Jakarta adolescents using a socio-ecological approach. This research was carried out using descriptive-analytical methods in the urban area of ​​Jakarta. The population in this study was teenagers aged 15 – 19 years. The research results showed that 36.45% were male, and 63.55% were female. Subjects aged 15-17 years were 85.98% and 18-19 years old were 14.02%. As many as 66.34% of subjects had good nutritional status, and 33.64% had more nutritional status. Obesogenic conditions in the form of 24-hour recall results and SQ-FFQ results where energy intake is mostly less by 49.53%, protein intake is mostly more by 55.14%, fat intake is mostly less by 53.74%, and carbohydrate intake was mostly less with 64.02%. As for eating behavior, it was found that aspects of nutritional knowledge were mostly poor at 54.7%, nutritional attitudes were mostly positive at 50.5%, adolescent eating practices were mostly positive at 56.1%, and food availability was mostly good at 51.9%. The conclusion from this research is that the majority of subjects have good nutritional status, their eating patterns and food consumption are still unhealthy. Lack of energy and carbohydrates, as well as high protein consumption, reflect an unbalanced diet influenced by an obesogenic environment. Low nutritional knowledge is an important factor that needs to be corrected to improve adolescent eating patterns. This research shows that to overcome obesity among adolescents, interventions are needed that include nutritional education, access to healthy food, and changes in the obesogenic environment at school and home.

Abstract

Gula aren merupakan salah satu produk lokal yang dihasilkan oleh UMKM di Desa Majalayaa, Cianjur, Jawa Barat. Dalam menjalankan usahanya, UMKM ini masih menghadapi permasalahan, yaitu bidang produksi dan pengemasan produk. Tim pengabdi Universitas Binawan melakukan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) yang bertujuan untuk memperbaiki dan meningkatkan produksi serta pengemasan produk. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu melalui workshop dan pembinaan UMKM gula aren. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah UMKM gula aren Mustofa Jaya (6 orang). Setelah workshop, dilakukan pendampingan dan evaluasi pelaksanaan program. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan terjadi kenaikan produksi gula aren dari 15 kg/minggu menjadi 17 kg/minggu. Selain itu, variasi gula aren tidak hanya dalam bentuk silinder ukuran 350 g tetapi juga dalam bentuk kotak ukuran 2x2 cm sehingga lebih praktis dalam penggunaannya. Dari sisi pengemasan digunakan standing pouch transparan ukuran 250 g dan 500 g. Dengan pengemasan ini gula aren dapat  dipasarkan ke berbagai wilayah. Hasil pengabdian juga menunjukan terjadinya peningkatan permintaan dari wilayah di luar lokasi produksi. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa gula aren ukuran kecil memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dan memerlukan dukungan sisi pemasaran secara online.
