Abstract

Developing countries need a lot of capital for economic development. Development in most developing countries is hampered by limited funds. Thus, these obstacles in developing a sharia economy in a dual economic system country. The problem of limited capital can be overcome by raising additional capital from abroad in the form of loans or foreign direct investment (FDI). The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship of FDI and the impact of economic freedom on the development of Islamic economics in IFSB member countries. This research was conducted with quantitative research methods using secondary data from various sources. Studies were analyzed by PLS-SEM using PLS 3.0. The findings reveal that FDI does not have a significant relationship with Islamic economic growth and economic freedom does not moderate the relationship between FDI and Islamic economic development. The development of the sharia economy is hampered because of economic freedom, so that foreign direct investment is not a factor that can advance the Islamic economy. Through this study, the government can build a sharia economic framework by highlighting the resources that Islam allows.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to see the cause and effect between the Human Development Index and the Global Muslim Travel Index. This research was conducted using quantitative research methods for a dataset of five countries with low security levels. The study was analyzed by the Bayesian Vector Autoregression Panel using Eviews 10. The findings reveal that there is no interaction and contribution between the Human Development Index and the Global Muslim Travel Index in countries with weak security levels for Muslim tourists. However, according to the PBVAR estimate, the Human Development Index affects the Global Muslim Travel Index, as well as the Global Muslim Travel Index affects the Human Development Index. Then the results of the IRF test explained that the Human Development Index and the Global Muslim Travel Index had a stable response in the second period. Finally, the decomposition analysis explains that the Human Development Index and the Global Muslim Travel Index have their respective roles from the first period to the tenth period. Through this research, it is hoped that the relevant state governments can mix policies and anticipate shocks that occur. Therefore, the researcher proposes to increase security for Muslim tourists visiting their country and implement various facilities that support comfort for Muslim tourists.

Abstract

The development of information technology has penetrated all financial sectors, including sharia financial technology. The concept of Sharia Fintech Innovation must be guided by the Qur'an and Sunnah. By the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI). Of the many startups registered with the OJK and BI, only a small number operate according to sharia principles. The lack of literacy related to sharia fintech innovation is the reason why conventional fintech products and services are more attractive to the public. This study aims to explain the concept of fintech products and services in sharia principles and is limited to three products, namely Peer to Peer Lending, E-Money, and Crowdfunding. The method used in this research is literature study, by taking various references and literature related to research. The results of the study explain that 1) Sharia principles related to peer-to-peer lending, e-money, and crowdfunding are by the Fatwa of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council, namely that one must avoid Riba, Gharar, Maysir , Tazlis, Ishraf and transactions of illicit goods. 2) The contracts used for peer-to-peer lending are in line with the characteristics of financing services such as al-bai', ijarah, mudharabah, musyarakah, wakalah bi al ujrah, and qardh. Whereas e-money uses two contracts, namely the contract between the Issuer and the Holder using a wadiah contract and the contract between publishers and traders using a wakalah contract.

Abstract

The development of Islamic banking in Indonesia has experienced very rapid growth. On the other hand, the availability of Islamic human resources is not in accordance with the standards expected by Islamic banking. This is indicated by a large number of human resources graduates from public universities compared to graduates of Islamic banking or Islamic economics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that determine the success of Islamic HR in Islamic banking in North Sumatera. Data analysis was carried out using the ANP approach. The results of this study indicate that problems related to the determinants of the success of Islamic HR in North Sumatera internally are the most important internal performance appraisal and self-quality improvement in the form of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA). There are internal and external factors to improve Islamic human resources at sharia banking. From the internal factors, Sharia banking needs to develop a performance appraisal system from the perspective of Sharia compliance and financial risk. The Islamic bank employee recruitment system must also comply with sharia principles. In addition, it needs training and education by instilling sharia concepts. Finally, improving the quality of human resources through developing soft skills, increasing work motivation, sharia work ethic with the itqan. External factors are from universities in the form of curriculum and regulations from the government. The solution is to create a standard system for developing Islamic human resources and compile a curriculum that is in accordance with KSA. Abstract

This study aims to determine the best model and method for forecasting the growth of sukuk investment in Indonesia and to forecast the growth of Sovereign Sukuk investment seven years ahead, precisely at the end of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program in 2030. This quantitative study uses Sovereign Sukuk data from 2009 to 2023 obtained from Bank Indonesia (BI). The sampling technique used in this study is purposive sampling, which uses 179 monthly data on Indonesian Sovereign Sukuk investment. The data analysis in this study uses the eviews 10 application with an econometric approach. The results of this study analysis show that the best method for forecasting sukuk investment growth in Indonesia is ARIMA Box Jenskins with the ARIMA (7,1,1) model. The growth value of Indonesian Sovereign Sukuk investment after forecasting for the next seven years continues to increase yearly. This is triggered by the increasing public awareness to contribute to Indonesia's development. The peak growth in Sovereign Sukuk investment is predicted to occur in 2030 at the end of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, showing a figure of Rp. 1.167.071.086.806.520. This condition should be a concern to the government, so that Sovereign Sukuk can be utilised to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on collaborative governance in South Tapanuli Regency. The study employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of MSME owners, PT Agincourt Resources, Bagas Silua, the Department of Trade and Cooperatives for MSMEs, and the Department of Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services. The findings indicate that MSME development is significantly influenced by collaboration among the government, the private sector, and MSME actors. The government plays a vital role in facilitating business legalization, providing guidance, training, and mentoring, while the private sector contributes to capacity building and product marketing. Internal factors, such as managerial capability, creativity, and entrepreneurial independence, as well as external factors, including policy support, training programs, and strategic partnerships, also affect the success of MSMEs. The collaborative governance model, implemented through cross-sectoral coordination and the active involvement of MSME stakeholders, has proven effective in enhancing business capacity, improving competitiveness, and increasing the contribution of MSMEs to local economic growth in South Tapanuli Regency.
