Abstract

Colorectal carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm which originating or growing in the colon or rectum. Colorectal carcinoma is one of the 10 most common cancers suffered by Indonesians. Carcinomas develop much less in the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum than in the colon and rectum. The duodenum, jejunum, and ileum join the colon in the lower right abdomen. In the early stages most cancers do not show any particular clinical symptoms, however, early testing can minimize a poor prognosis. Screening or screening for colorectal carcinoma can be performed in groups of men and women over 50 years of age or patients who are at risk of developing colorectal carcinoma. Screening should also be done by people with polyps or individuals at risk of other carcinomas. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequen distribution and the relationship between smoking history, alcohol consumption history and diabetes history to the histopathological degree of colorectal carcinoma in RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek. This research was conducted in October-November 2019 at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Bandar Lampung using the observational method. The sample of this study consisted of 94 people with medical record data determined using total sampling techniques. Data were processed using statistical tests with a confidence level of 0.05. Chi-square test results showed that there is a  correlation between smoking history (p = 0.0008), alcohol consumption (p = 0.006) and diabetes mellitus (p = 0.015) with the histopathological degree of colorectal carcinoma. So, it can be concluded there is a correlation between smoking history, alcohol consumption and diabetes.

Abstract

The Pb metal content in motor vehicle exhaust gases can danger health and  damage the environment. Pb metal as a free radical can trigger oxidative stress. Oxidative stress causes an increase in reactive oxygen species (ROS) and damage to the spermatozoa membrane. Antioxidants are one of the compounds that can be used to overcome this problem, including the mangosteen peel extract which has a view of antioxidants as an antidote to free radicals. This experimental was conducted for 14 days. 25 male rats (Spragua dawley) were divided into 5 treatment groups: K + (without treatment), K-, P1, P2, P3 (exposed to plumbum acetate dose of 0.35gram / KgBB and given consecutively mangosteen peel extract at a dose of 0 , 50, 100, 200 mg / KgBB, mean primary sprematocytes were calculated using a microscope with 400x magnification. The results of the treatment analysis (P1, P2, and P3) showed that the mangosteen peel extract had not been able to increase mean primary spematocytes from male white rats, mean that of primary spermatocytes obtained was 133.2 ± 24 (K+), 71.85 ± 16.9 (K-), 72.0 ± 17.3 (P1), 29.2 ± 9.3 (P2), 43.3 ± 6.82 (P3)test post hoc LSD showed significant differences from each treatment group. The extract of the Mangosteen skin was not yet able to increase Average of primary spermatocytes of male white rats exposed to plumbum acetate.

Abstract

Wabah pandemi Covid-19 yang melanda selama saat ini, menimbulkan dampak luas bagi kehidupan masyarakat seperti pembatasan aktivitas di luar rumah dan di tempat keramaian, sehingga banyak dari masyarakat yang mengisi waktunya untuk bercocok tanam dengan menanam sayuran dan tanaman hias. Kendala utama dalam budidaya tanaman biasanya muncul serangan hama dan penyakit tanaman sehingga tanaman tidak subur. Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) yang mudah di buat dan berasal dari lingkungan sendiri,ramah terhadap lingkungan dan tidak berbahaya untuk kesehatan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan pada ibu–ibu Dusun Pal 6 metode pembuatan POC. Dari hasil evaluasi awal dan akhir yang dilakukan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang metode pembuatan POC berbasis sayur. Rata- rata peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 56% dari evaluasi awal sebesar 34% dan evaluasi akhir sebesar 90%.

Abstract

Kompos adalah zat akhir suatu proses fermentasi tumpukan sampah/serasah tanaman termasuk bangkai binatang. Fermentasi tersebut perlu dipercepat dengan bantuan manusia. Isolat fungi saprotrof ini sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan menjadi inokulum pengomposan dalam pembuatan pupuk organik. Kompos yang diinduksi dengan inokulum fungi ini mampu menghasilkan pupuk organik dengan relatif cepat dan mengandung nutrisi tanaman yang tinggi. Prospek kebutuhan pupuk organik cukup tinggi dalam menunjang pertanian organik sehingga diperlukan penyebaran informasi IPTEK dan pelatihan kepada masyarakat tentang pembuatan pupuk organik dengan induksi inokulum fungi saprotrof. Selain itu ketersediaan seresah tanaman pekarangan melimpah dan terbebas dari residu bahan kimia. Hasil kegiatan ini memperlihatkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta pelatihan dalam pembuatan pupuk kompos dari seresah daun. Rata-rata peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pelatihan sebesar 30%.

Abstract

Free radicals are molecules that have unstable and reactive properties, because they have one or more unpaired electrons. Free radicals can attack vulnerable compounds such as lipids and proteins, which will eventually cause dangerous diseases. Free radicals threaten the health of the body because of their reactive and unstable nature, because of their instability, free radicals react with molecules that are closest after entering the body, and produce other free radicals, and eventually become a chain reaction that can threaten the health of the body. Soybean (Glycine max L) has antioxidant compounds that can react with free radicals and stop the rate of free radicals to react with molecules in the body, namely isoflavones and other compounds, such as proteins, fats, and vitain A, C and D. Soybean (Glycine max L) has been shown to play an important role in healing or inhibiting diseases caused by free radicals, as well as the antioxidants contained, namely isoflavones that are consumed regularly can protect the body from free radicals

Abstract

Introduction: Inflammation is a series of non-specific innate processes that are activated by the body in response to foreign invasion, tissue damage, or both. Purpose: To determine the anti-inflammatory activity of black onions. Methods: using literature studies from national and international journals by summarizing discussion topics and comparing the results in articles. Results: Black onions have anti-inflammatory activity through their bioactive components S-allyl cysteine, polyphenols, and flavonoids and can be used as an alternative anti-inflammatory agent in phytopharmaca. Conclusion; The fermentation process carried out by heat treatment at certain humidity in garlic will produce an end product in the form of black garlic or aged black garlic

Abstract

Colibacillosisis is an infectious disease in poultry caused by pathogenic Escherichia coli (E. coli) as primary or secondary agents. This study were aim to identify and test the pathogenicity ofE. coli isolated from chicken cloacal swabs. The samples used in this study were E. coli isolated from chicken cloacal swabs as many as 42 samples. The first stage in this research was subculturing E.coli in Eosin Methylene Blue Agar (EMBA) medium, then identified by Gram stain and biochemistry with Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA), Sulfide Indole Motility (SIM), Simmons Citrate Agar (SCA) and Methyl Red Voges-Proskauer (MRVP). Pathogenicity of E. coli was tested by culturing in Blood Agar to see the results of hemolysin production and on Sorbitol-MacConkey Agar (SMAC) to see the ability of Sorbitol fermentation. The results obtained were 12 isolates was pathogenic E. coli looked from the results of the pathogenicity test in the Blood Agar and SMAC Agar.

Abstract

 Sampah merupakan limbah yang berasal dari sisa kegiatan sehari-hari manusia yang berbentuk padat. Salah satu sampah yang berbentuk padat adalah sampah dari sisa-sisa kulit buah-buahan dan sayur-sayuran yang dibuang ke tempat sampah dan tidak digunakan lagi oleh manusia. Berdasarkan pengamatan di lapangan, masyarakat di desa Sumber Sari sudah mengelola sampah dengan baik seperti pemisahan sampah organik dan anorganik. Namun untuk pemanfaatan limbah rumah tangga sebagai Mikroorganisme Lokal  belum dilakukan. Solusi untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan bagi  masyarakat di Desa Sumber Sari  untuk membuat Mikroorganisme Lokal (MOL) sebagai alternatif dalam pembuatan pupuk organik cair.Hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini adalah terjadi peningkatan ketrampilan dan pemahaman dalam membuat MOL. Rata-rata hasil pretest adalah 40,56, kemudian setelah diberi pelatihan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan berupa post test dengan rata-rata nilai yaitu 91,67. Peningkatan yang terjadi sebesar 51,11 point.  Harapan lebih lanjut dalam pelatihan ini adalah masyarakat di Desa Sumber Sari, Bantul, Kecamatan Metro Selatan, Kota Metro dapat membuat MOL dari sisa-sisa buangan rumah tangga dan memanfaatkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari sebagai pupuk organik cair

Abstract

Compost is the final substance in the fermentation process of piles of waste/plant litter including animal carcasses. The fermentation needs to be accelerated with human assistance. This saprotrophic fungi isolate has the potential to be developed as a compost inoculum in the manufacture of organic fertilizers. Compost induced with fungal inoculum is able to produce organic fertilizer relatively quickly and contains high plant nutrients. The prospect of the need for organic fertilizers is quite high in supporting organic agriculture, so it is necessary to disseminate information on science and technology and training to the public on the manufacture of organic fertilizers by induction of saprotrophic fungi inoculum. In addition, the availability of garden plant litter is abundant and free from chemical residues. The results of this activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge and understanding of the training participants in making compost from leaf litter. The average increase in the knowledge of the trainees is 25,25 %.

Abstract

Ikan merupakan salah satu sumber protein hewani yang banyak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Namun, banyak ikan yang belum terolah dengan maksimal, bahkan dibiarkan membusuk sehingga menyebabkan limbah ikan. Seperti yang terjadi di Desa Gebang, Kabupaten Pesawaran, yang mana sebagian besar mata pencaharian masyarakat desa tersebut berprofesi sebagai nelayan dan petani. Kendala yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat adalah minimnya informasi mengenai bagaimana teknik pengolahan limbah ikan menjadi pakan ternak. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan PKM ini adalah untuk mengenalkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan pakan ternak dari limbah ikan. Kegiatan PKM dilaksanakan meliputi 2 tahap, tahap pertama yaitu penyampaian materi secara ceramah dan diskusi, tahap kedua berupa praktek/demonstrasi pembuatan pakan ternak dari limbah ikan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan pre-test peserta rata-rata 3,6 sedangkan post-test rata-rata adalah 6,4. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat di Desa Gebang Kabupaten Pesawaran meningkat, khususnya tentang metode pemanfaatan limbah ikan untuk digunakan menjadi pakan ternak.
