Abstract

One of the problems encountered in rubber cultivation with stump is the high percentage of stump death in field caused by the inhibition of roots and shoots growth. So that to accelerate the growth of rooting can be applied by growth regulator. The aim of the research was to found out the response of stump rubber (Hevea brassiliensis Muell Arg.) used of growth regulator in varieth of planting media. The research was conducted in September 2015 until February 2016 of Agriculture Faculty experimental field, Sumatera Utara University, Medan. The research used the completely randomized design with two factors and three replications. The first factor was concentration of growth regulator, i.e : yaitu 0 mg / 2mL water per stum, 25 mg / 2mL water per stum, 50 mg / 2mL water per stum, dan 75 mg / 2mL water per stum mg and the second factor was the plant media comparison of top soil and sand, i.e : 1:0, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3.The results showed the concentration of growth regulator, the plant media top soil : sand (1:1) and their interaction had no significant increased the growth.of.rubber.stump. Abstract

The experiment was conducted for six months, began in September 2015 to Februari 2016 in Sungei Putih Rubber Research Institute, Deli Serdang. Three-Stage Nested Design was applied with three replications. The first step was time application, i.e., a first application, a second application, the second step of clones treatment, i.e., IRR 118 clones, PB 260 clones and the third step was stimulants, i.e., without stimulants, stimulant extract 50 grams the peel of banana, stimulant extract 100 grams the peel of banana, stimulant extract 150 grams the peel of banana, stimulant extract 200 grams the peel of banana. Observed parameters was total solid contents. The results showed that first application was more bigger than the second application to produced the latex. PB 260 clones were clones that experienced the highest increase in producing due to the provision treatment of stimulants. Stimulant extract 100 gram the peel of banana is stimulant that tends to increase production latex higher than others.

Abstract

Increasing latex production in rubber plants generally used ethrel stimulant that contains the chemical hormone ethylene and the ethrel may be difficult to consumed by the people's plantation (estates) because the price is expensive, and therefore it needed an alternative stimulant treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the response latex production at various times applications on rubber clone quick starter treated by stimulant ethylene banana peel. The experiment was conducted for six months, began in September 2015 to Februari 2016 in Sungei Putih Rubber Research Institute, Galang Subdistrict, Deli Serdang regency. Abstract

ABSTRACT Goosegrass (Eleusine indica) on rubber fields at Rambutan estate PTPN III had been sprayed using glyphosate for 28 years continuously. Lately it was reported that the herbicide glyphosate was no longer effective to control E.indica in that area. The objective of this study was to determine the spread and resistance levels of E. indica populations to glyphosate found in 14 Divisions of Rambutan Estates. The 14 populations were compared to a population collected from the University of Sumatera Utara where no herbicides had been sprayed previously. The plants were sprayed with 480 g a.i IPA glyphosate at 4-5 leaf stage. Experiment was arranged using fully randomized design non factorial, with the populations of, ESU0, ESU5.1, ESU5.2, ESU5.3, ESU5.4, ESU5.5, ESU5.6, ESU5.7, ESU5.8, ESU5.9, ESU5.10, ESU5.11, ESU5.12, ESU5.13, and ESU5.14, of which each population was made in 4 replications.Results showed that of 14 populations of goosegrass, 8 populations were “very resistant” and 6 populations were “resistant” to glyphosate. Thus the entire populations have developed to become resistant to glyphosate.  Keywords : Distribution, eleusine indica, glyphosate, resistance, rubber estate

Abstract

Pre nursery of oil palm requires adequate water availability on the media used so that with the addition of coconut coir helps keep soil moisture. The aims of the research is to know the addition of coconut coir on planting medium and watering frequency against the growth of oil palm sprouts in pre nursery. Research conducted in October through December 2016 in Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit Sei-Aek Pancur, Tanjung Morawa, Deli Serdang. Research design used was Randomized Complete Design Factorial with two factors. The first factor is the addition consists of 1/5 coconut coir and 1/10 coconut coir, the second factor is the frequency of watering treatment consists of once and twice watering. The observation parameters is the plant height, number of leaves and stem diameter. The results showed that treatment of the addition of the coconut coir and the frequency of watering effect is not significant in the oil palm seedling growth. Abstract

Air merupakan faktor yang sangat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman.Ketersediaan air pada tanaman karet di lapangan sangat dipengaruhi oleh besarnya curah hujan.Jumlah air yang tidak sesuai dapat memberikan dampak negatif terhadap produktivitas karet.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh curah hujan dan hari hujan serta hubungan korelasi keduanya terhadapproduktifitas tanaman karet berumur 9, 13 dan 16 tahun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Tanah Besih PT.Socfin indonesia di Kecamatan Tebing Syahbandar, Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, pada bulan Januari 2017 sampai dengan selesai. Penelitian ini mengunakan data sekunder yang tersedia di administrasi kebun.Data sekunder untuk keperluan analisis meliputi data produktifitas lateks tahun 2013, 2014, dan 2015; data curah hujan dan data hari hujan bulanan tahun 2012, 2013 dan 2014.Metode analisis yang digunakan ialah analisis regresi linear berganda dan analisis korelasi. Model diujikelayakannya dengan uji asumsiklasik meliputi uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, uji multikolinearitas, serta uji autokorelasi dengan menggunakan alat bantu statistik SPSS.v.22 for windows. Dari uji asumsi klasik yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelayakan persamaaan regresi linear berganda, disimpulkan bahwa persamaan regresi pada tanaman karet umur 9, 13, dan 16 tahun telah memenuhi syarat. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa variabel curah hujan dan hari hujan secara parsial maupun simultan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap peningkatan produktifitas lateks pada tanaman karet pada umur 9, 13 dan 16 tahun. Kata kunci : curah hujan, hari hujan, produktifitas lateks.

Abstract

Watering is a method that used to fulfill the water needs of oil palm seedlings in the nursery. In watering that must be considered is the quality and amount of water given and the right watering time. The aim of this research was conducted the Influence of frequency of watering to several types of seeds of high oil palm (Elaeis quineensis Jacq.) that thick mesocarp in the Main Nursery 4 until 7 month. The research was conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan (± 32 meters above sea level), which began from September to November 2017. This Research was conducted by using a Factorial Randomized Complete Design with two factors. The first factor is watering consists of in the morning (1 time) and in the morning & evening (2 times), the  second  factor is varieties of oil palm that thick mesocarp consists of Avros, Simalungun and PPKS 540. The observation parameters is the total leaf area. The results showed that frequency treatment of watering is not significant but the varieties of oil palm that thick mesocarp significanly different Avros to Simalungun and PPKS 540 and interaction both had no significant effect on the growth of oil palm seedlings.
