Abstract

Potensi sektor perikanan di Indonesia menjadi bagian penting dalam pembangunan nasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk merancang aplikasi permainan edukatif berupa simulasi perikanan budidaya sehingga dapat memperkenalkan tentang perikanan budidaya kepada generasi muda melalui cara yang lebih menarik. Proses pra-produksi yang dilaksanakan pada penelitian ini menghasilkan dokumen desain permainan yang dibuat berdasarkan wawancara dan studi literatur. Hasil dari penelitian ini telah berhasil menghasilkan rancangan aplikasi permainan yang edukatif dan sangat menarik. Dokumen tersebut memuat unsur-unsur permainan yang meliputi objek dan perilakunya yang akan digunakan untuk membuat permainan simulasi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan rancangan aplikasi permainan yang dapat digunakan untuk menambah wawasan pemain tentang perikanan budidaya Kata Kunci: edukatif, permainan, perikanan, perikanan budidaya, simulasi

Abstract

Good sperm quality and inactive condition during the electroporation process determines the success of transgenesis. The study aims to observe the morphology and physiology of sperm, and evaluate the effects of different voltage and number of electric shocks on motility and viability of climbing perch sperm. Observation of morphological characters by microscope with a magnification of 400X, physiological character with various parameters, such as the level of os-molarity, volume, pH, density and total of sperm. The climbing perch sperm consisted of three parts, namely the ovoid head, middle, and tail. Sperm viability in the water was 116±34 seconds. Sperm quantity, volume of semen, pH, and sperm density were increased after ovaprim injection (p<0.05). Osmolarity levels of body and testes of climbing perch ranged at 390-405 mOsmol kg-1. Sperm diluted in 13 g L-1 NaCl solution could be kept for a maximum of 60 minutes at room temperature (26°C) and cold temperature (4°C), while without NaCl solution could be 360 minutes. Fertilization and hatching rates of eegs fertilized by sperm form the minced testes, and larval survival up to 10 days post-hatching were similar with semi-natural spawning. Electroporation of climbing perch sperm diluted in 13 g/L NaCl solution was successfully performed using a program with a long shock of 0.5 milliseconds and the interval shock of 0.1 seconds. Increasing the voltage and number of shock decreased motility and viability of sperm (p<0.05). Those electric shock parameters can potentially be used to generate climbing perch transgenic by electroporation method. Abstrak Kualitas sperma yang baik dan dalam keadaan tak aktif selama proses elektroporasi sangat menentukan keberhasilan transgenesis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakter morfologis dan fisiologis sel sperma, serta menge-valuasi efek voltase dan jumlah kejut listrik berbeda terhadap motilitas dan viabilitas sperma ikan betok. Pengamatan karakter morfologi dilakukan pada mikroskop dengan pembesaran 400x, karakter fisiologi dengan berbagai parameter yakni tingkat osmolaritas, volume, pH, kepadatan dan total sperma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sperma ikan betok terdiri atas tiga bagian, yakni kepala yang berbentuk oval, bagian tengah, dan ekor sperma. Viabilitas sperma ikan betok dalam air adalah selama 116±34 detik. Induksi ovaprim dapat meningkatkan volume sperma, pH, kepadatan dan total sperma (p<0,05). Tingkat osmolaritas tubuh dan testis ikan betok (390-405 mOsmol kg-1). Penyimpanan sperma yang diencerkan dengan larutan NaCl 1,3% hanya dapat bertahan maksimum selama 60 menit pada suhu ruang (26°C) dan suhu dingin (4°C), sedangkan tanpa pengenceran dapat bertahan selama 360 menit. Derajat pembuahan dan kelangsungan hidup larva hingga 10 hari pascatetas menggunakan sperma dari testes cacah sama dengan pemijahan semi alami. Elektroporasi sperma ikan betok dengan pengencer larutan NaCl 1,3% berhasil dilakukan menggunakan lama kejut 0,5 milidetik, dan jeda antar kejut 0,1 detik. Peningkatan voltase dan jumlah kejut yang diberikan saling berinter-aksi menurunkan motilitas dan viabilitas sperma (p<0,05). Metode kejut listrik tersebut berpotensi digunakan untuk menghasilkan ikan betok transgenik dengan metode elektroporasi.

Abstract

The anthropogenic provide a negative impact on the surrounding environment. Mangrove species, such as Sonneratia alba would get the impact of anthropogenic activities, to accumulate the pollution of heavy metals. The aim of this study were to evaluate mercury accumulation in Mangrove Apple (S. alba) and to analyze mangrove apple potency as mercury bioindicator. Samples were taken in April 2016 at Pari Island, Seribu Islands by purposive sampling. The results showed that the highest concentration of Hg in the Northern of Pari Island was found in the leaves and the lowest was in the fruit. The highest concentration of Hg in the Eastern of Pari Island was found in the leaves and lowest was in the fruit. The concentrations of Hg in the Eastern area higher the Northern area (significantly different). The accumulation of Hg mainly collected on the leaves with TF> 1, but the ability of S. alba trees absorb Hg in the environment showed a small value, namely BCF <1. The ability of S. alba in sediments, contaminated with mercury showed a high value of the leaves in the East Pari Island, but the fruit of S. alba both in the North and East of the Pari Island showed a small value.  Mangrove Apple leaves has a potency as mercury bioindicator organ.

Abstract

Black ghost knifefish, Apteronotus albifrons, is a South America-introduced ornamental fish species that has been widely cultivated in Indonesia. Some farmers breed this fish with different sex ratios, but the optimum sex ratio remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the spawning behavior and reproductive performance of black ghost knifefish with different sex ratios. The treatments in this study were arranged in a completely randomized design consisting of different sex ratios between males and females, namely: A (one male : three females), B (two males : three females), and C (three males : three females). Each treatment was done in triplicate. The broodstock were maintained in an aquarium (80 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm) and fed with bloodworm twice a day. The water was changed every day as much as 60% of the total volume. During the experiment, the parameters of spawning behavior, number of fish spawning, number of eggs, fertilization rate, hatching rate, and daily spawning frequencies were observed. The observation was done for seven days. The study results showed that black ghost knifefish spawned at night (11 pm - 2 am). The mating and spawning occurred between one male and one female. Competition between males was observed in the treatments indicated by aggressive movements of a male toward the others, such as sudden approaching, chasing, and driving away the others. Fish in treatment-B spawned consistently from day-1 to day-5. Fish in treatment-A spawned from day-2 to day-4, while fish in treatment-C spawned only on day-7. The reproductive performance parameters showed no significant difference in all treatments except the hatching rate parameter of treatment-B. The study concludes that better reproductive performance of black ghost knifefish, A. albifrons can be achieved with a spawning ratio of two males and three females. Further research on individual and mass spawning methods with the best spawning ratio of the fish is required.

Abstract

In early 2020, Karang Asem Timur Village received a grant from the Ministry of Marine Affairs in the form of a catfish farming system in buckets (budikdamber). This program is conducted by several business groups that are widely spread in the community. Many of the catfish farmers in Karang Asem Timur Village complain about the high cost of commercial feed which is commonly used, made the profits earned very insignificant and even tend to lose, thus need supervision. The IPB Serving Lecturer Program attempts to empower the people of Karang Asem Timur Village in optimizing fish farming activities and their processed products. This program as an extension of the Thematic Field Apprenticeship Lecture (KKN-T) program, partners with the catfish business group in Karang Asem Timur Village look for other feeding alternatives that are cheaper and have good nutritional content for catfish. In addition, the program also cooperates with youth organizations and family welfare empowerment to open business opportunities for processed catfish products and catfish cultured products. It is hoped that the progress and independence of the village economy can be achieved. The society eagerly participate and propose for the program to be continued gradually and sustainably in the near future.

Abstract

Plati fish is a freshwater ornamental fish with great demand due to its beautiful body shape and color, besides the price is affordable.The main problem faced by plati fish farmers is that the production targets have not been achieved to meet the market needs. This study aimed to examine the effect of the oodev and turmeric powder and the combination of both added into the fish diet on the reproductive performance of plati fish broodstock. The experimental design in this study used a completely randomized design with four treatments, i.e treatment A (control), B (oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock), C (turmeric powder 3%/kg feed), and D (oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock + turmeric powder 3%/kg feed). There were three replications for each treatment. The observed parameters included the percentage of pregnant broodstocks, the percentage of labored broodstocks, the frequency of labored broodstocks, larvae production, and the survival rate of the larvae. The data were analyzed using ANOVA and further tested with Duncan's test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the addition of oodev, turmeric flour, and a combination of both into the feed every one week increased the average production of larvae. Total larval production in all treatments was sorted from the highest in treatment D, B, C, and and the lowest was A treatment with larvae production of 428, 251, 209, and 93, respectively. The addition of oodev 0.5 ml/kg broodstock, turmeric powder 3%/kg feed, and the combination of both into the feed increased larval production three, two, and five times higher compared to the control, respectively. The percentage of survival of the larvae is sorted from the highest in treatment D, B, C, A, i.e. 97.51%, 95.79%, 95.65%, and 93.32%, respectively. Keywords: larvae, oodev, platy, turmeric powder ABSTRAK Ikan plati merupakan ikan hias air tawar yang banyak diminati masyarakat karena memiliki bentuk dan warna tubuh yang indah, selain itu harganya yang terjangkau membuat ikan ini laris di pasaran. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi pembudidaya ikan plati adalah belum tercapainya target produksi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan oodev dan tepung kunyit serta kombinasi keduanya yang diberi pada pakan terhadap performa reproduksi induk ikan plati. Rancangan percobaan pada penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan, yaitu: perlakuan A (kontrol), B (oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk), C (tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan), dan D (oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk + tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan). Terdapat tiga ulangan pada masing-masing perlakuan. Parameter penelitian yang diamati yakni persentase induk bunting, persentase induk melahirkan, frekuensi induk melahirkan, produksi larva, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup larva. Data diolah menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut dengan uji Duncan dengan selang kepercayaan 95%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penambahan oodev, tepung kunyit, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan setiap satu minggu dapat meningkatkan rata-rata produksi larva yang dihasilkan. Produksi larva total diurut dari yang terbanyak adalah perlakuan D (428 ekor), B (251 ekor), C (209 ekor), dan terendah adalah A (93 ekor). Penambahan oodev 0,5 ml/kg induk, tepung kunyit 3%/kg pakan, dan kombinasi keduanya pada pakan meningkatkan produksi larva sebanyak tiga, dua, dan lima kali dibanding kontrol. Persentase kelangsungan hidup larva diurut dari yang tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan D (97,51%), B (95,79%), C (95,65%), dan terendah adalah A (93,32%). Abstract

Purwasari Village is a village that has great potential in the field of aquaculture. These potentials include ponds that have not been utilized optimally and water sources that are channeled from irrigation. In addition, the potential in the field of human resources in Purwasari Village with groups engaged in fisheries is still not maximized. The people of Purwasari Village have a high interest in aquaculture activities, but the lack of knowledge related to cultivation aspects is an obstacle to improving the quality of production. In addition, the slow growth of female tilapia caused by wild spawning causes an increase in feed costs which is one of the main limiting factors for cultivators. The purpose of the PPK Ormawa activity is to empower the Purwasari Village community through monosex tilapia cultivation and tilapia fillet processing in order to increase village profitability and community food security during the Covid-19 pandemic. This activity method is carried out in a hybrid way, offline activities are carried out for field surveys, counseling and controlling and online activities are carried out to hold online meetings between lecturers, presenters and village communities as well as evaluation of ongoing program activities. This activity succeeded in increasing the knowledge, skills, number of members of the target group and the responsibilities of each individual. Physical change indicators can be seen in the revitalization of ponds and the provision of hatchery, nursery and rearing pond infrastructure for monosex tilapia. The formation of the Women Farmers Group for processing tilapia fillets and increasing the number of members of the Millennial Tani Tani group.

Abstract

In this digital era, the use of e-commerce mobile applications is very useful to reach sales and purchases widely and is easy, fast and convenient to use for the community. Until now, there has not been found e-commerce that is devoted to selling seeds and plant seeds, especially oil palm plants that can be trusted. In fact, there are many farmers who buy the wrong seeds, resulting in long-term problems in the oil palm plantation industry whose production is decreasing. Therefore, the sale of seeds and plant seeds needs support through a trusted e-commerce Mobile Application so that farmers do not need to be afraid to buy quality oil palm seeds. The development method used in this research uses the Waterfall method. The results of this study are in the form of e-commerce Mobile Application as a means of buying and selling oil palm seeds and seeds that are easy and reliable throughout the region
