Abstract

The increasing diversification of Arabic language education in Islamic higher education has generated competing learning paradigms that often operate in isolation and produce fragmented learner competencies. This study critically examines three dominant paradigms of Arabic language learning at the State Islamic Institute of Kerinci: Religious-Linguistics, the Interdisciplinary Approach, and Arabic for Specific Purposes (ASP). Employing a qualitative critical review design, the study analyzes the epistemological foundations, pedagogical orientations, strengths, and limitations of each paradigm within contemporary Arabic language education. The findings reveal that the Religious-Linguistics paradigm effectively develops classical textual literacy and Islamic scholarship but provides limited support for communicative competence in modern contexts. The Interdisciplinary Approach enhances academic relevance across disciplines, yet its engagement with turāth-based literacy remains insufficient. Meanwhile, ASP strengthens professional and academic communication skills but tends to emphasize technical language functions at the expense of broader epistemological and value-oriented dimensions. The analysis demonstrates that the separation of these paradigms contributes to an imbalance in students’ intellectual, communicative, and professional competencies. In response, this study proposes an Integrative Arabic Learning Paradigm that synthesizes epistemological, dialogical, and pragmatic dimensions into a unified framework. This model offers a conceptual foundation for developing more holistic, context-responsive, and globally competitive Arabic language curricula in Islamic higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze psychological factors contributing to deviant behavior among sixth-grade elementary students and to examine religious character development strategies implemented by schools to address such behavior, with the goal of identifying effective and sustainable approaches for guiding students toward positive behavioral and character development. The research employed a qualitative case study design using purposive sampling, with data collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation studies involving school leaders, teachers, students, and parents, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification procedures. The findings reveal that students’ deviant behaviors are influenced by emotional pressure, family relationship issues, the need for peer recognition, weak emotional regulation, and exposure to digital media, while strategies such as empathetic communication, teacher role modeling, structured worship habituation, personal mentoring, and collaboration between school and parents effectively reduce behavioral problems and improve students’ discipline and self-control. The study results can be applied in elementary education settings, character education programs, counseling services, and school management practices, providing practical guidance for teachers, counselors, administrators, and parents in developing preventive and corrective strategies for student behavioral issues while strengthening character education programs. The originality of this study lies in its integrated analysis combining psychological factors and religious character development strategies, demonstrating how spiritual habituation, empathetic guidance, and parental involvement collectively support behavioral improvement, thereby contributing new practical insights for advancing character education and student behavior management research in elementary school contexts.

Abstract

Pembatalan perkawinan tetap menjadi isu yuridis penting yang menyangkut perlindungan hak dan kepastian hukum dalam lembaga perkawinan. Studi-studi sebelumnya sebagian besar meneliti pembatalan perkawinan dari perspektif hukum normatif, dengan perhatian terbatas pada interaksi antara keadilan dan kepastian hukum dalam penalaran yudisial. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dasar hukum dan pertimbangan yudisial dari keputusan pembatalan perkawinan di Pengadilan Agama Bandung melalui perspektif keadilan dan kepastian hukum. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan hukum perundang-undangan, kasus, dan teori hukum, dengan analisis kualitatif bahan hukum primer, termasuk Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 1974 tentang Perkawinan dan Kompilasi Hukum Islam. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama pembatalan adalah pelanggaran Pasal 9 Undang-Undang Perkawinan, di mana salah satu pihak masih terikat secara hukum dalam perkawinan sebelumnya, ditambah dengan kelalaian administratif Kantor Agama (KUA) dalam memverifikasi status perkawinan. Keputusan tersebut mencerminkan keadilan korektif dan keadilan Rawls sebagai keadilan dengan melindungi pasangan yang dirugikan sekaligus memulihkan ketertiban hukum. Kebaruan terletak pada penyajian pembatalan perkawinan sebagai mekanisme untuk menyeimbangkan keadilan substantif dan kepastian hukum dalam peradilan hukum keluarga di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis integrasi adat dan hukum Islam dalam tradisi ajun arah pada praktik penyembelihan sapi di Desa Paling Serumpun melalui perspektif kaidah al-‘adah muḥakkamah. Tradisi ini menarik dikaji karena memadukan norma adat dengan ketentuan syariat Islam dalam pelaksanaan kurban, akikah, dan hajatan masyarakat. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam terhadap lima informan kunci yang terdiri atas tokoh adat, tokoh agama, dan masyarakat pelaksana tradisi, serta studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi ajun arah berfungsi sebagai mekanisme sosial yang mengatur tata tertib penyembelihan, menjaga solidaritas masyarakat, memperkuat musyawarah, serta memelihara keharmonisan sosial. Dari perspektif hukum Islam, tradisi ini tidak bertentangan dengan syariat karena seluruh rukun dan syarat penyembelihan tetap dipenuhi sesuai ketentuan fikih. Tradisi tersebut juga memenuhi prinsip al-‘adah muḥakkamah karena telah berlangsung secara turun-temurun, diterima masyarakat, dan tidak mengandung unsur yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam. Selain itu, fleksibilitas pelaksanaannya mencerminkan penerapan kaidah al-masyaqqah tajlibu at-taysir dalam menyesuaikan kondisi sosial-ekonomi masyarakat. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa ajun arah merupakan bentuk harmonisasi adat dan syariat yang merepresentasikan karakter Islam Nusantara yang adaptif, religius, dan berorientasi pada kemaslahatan sosial.
