Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of service quality and service facilities on patient satisfaction in antenatal care (ANC) services through the mediating role of health worker competence among third trimester pregnant women in community health centers (Puskesmas) across Jember Regency. Utilizing a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 255 respondents using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS. The findings reveal that both service quality and service facilities significantly affect patient satisfaction directly and indirectly through health worker competence. Competence emerged as the strongest predictor, highlighting its essential role in enhancing maternal satisfaction. The model demonstrated adequate predictive power with R² values of 0.637 for patient satisfaction and 0.482 for competence. These results underscore the importance of integrated improvements in service infrastructure and human resource capacity to optimize ANC delivery and maternal health outcomes, particularly in low- and middle-income country contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of discipline, competence, and creativity on employee performance, with job satisfaction serving as an intervening variable at SMAN 2 Taruna Bhayangkara, East Java. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Partial Least Squares analysis (WarpPLS 8.0) based on data collected from 107 respondents, including teachers, administrative staff, and police supervisors. The findings revealed that discipline and competence had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, whereas creativity did not. Both discipline and competence also significantly impacted employee performance, while creativity showed no immediate effect. Additionally, job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between discipline and competence and employee performance but does not mediate the influence of creativity on performance. Thus, competence is the most dominant factor affecting employee performance, while job satisfaction strengthens the effects of discipline and competence. This research highlights the importance of competency development, strict enforcement of discipline, and innovation mechanisms to continuously improve employee performance.

This study aims to investigate the impact of tax morality, tax fairness, and tax simplicity on tax compliance behavior through tax compliance intentions at the Jember Tax Office. The sample used was 400 respondents. This study uses the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) model. The results show that tax moral, tax fairness, tax simplicity, and tax compliance intention have a direct and significant effect on tax compliance behavior, respectively. A similar phenomenon also occurs in the connections between tax morals, tax fairness, and tax simplicity with tax compliance intention. Tax compliance intention acts as a mediator of the relationship between tax fairness and tax compliance behavior. On the other hand, tax compliance intention cannot mediate the correlation between tax morality and tax compliance behavior as well as the relationship between tax simplicity and tax compliance behavior.
