Abstract

Objective of the study To know immediate cosntituent of English, To know the immedaite constituent of Indonesian. the writer used a descriptive method. This method was used by the reason that the discussion of immediate constituent in English and Indonesian was to represent description about the natural of the facts. Population on serve the all members of research object as the persons, things, animal, etc. With regard to the topic of this study, the population of this study were clauses in English and Indonesian. Sample is part of population. To fulfill the intention of this study, the sample were determined to the simple English and Indonesian clauses which consist of 50 clauses in English and 50 clauses in Indonesian. To collect the data required in this research, the writer used written utterance. The utterance were ib the forms of clauses of English and Indonesian, that have equivalence and standar language.The data being collected were analyzed by using immediate constituent to fulfill the study intent ions as previously mentioned. A box of immediate constituent was used to observer the immediate. Immediate constituent in English, that the first cut is divided into two parts: noun phrase as predicate. Then noun phrase can be formed by pronoun, determiner plus noun. Verb phrase can be formed by verb, modal auxialary plus verb. Immediate constituent in Indonesia, that the first cut is divided into two parts; noun phrase plus verb phrase. Beside, there are other forms of clause, noun phrase plus noun phrase, noun phrase plus adjective phrase. Noun phrase in Indonesia can be formed by pronoun, noun plus noun, or noun plus particle. Verb phrase can be formed by verb, or adverb plus verb

Abstract

The objective of the research is to find out the students’ attitude toward the use of interactive classroom activities in developing the communicative competence. The researchers used descriptive method with a questionnaire to obtain data. The variable of the research was independent variable referring to the use of interactive classroom activities and dependent variable was the students’ attitude. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students of the SMA Kriten Barana’ Academic year 2017/2018, which consists of 50 students since the population of this research, used random sampling. The data obtained from the questionnaire tabulated and analyzed using percentage technique. It is provided by the students’ option on all items of the questionnaire where the number of students who strongly agree and agree is greater than those disagree and strong disagree. in this research the eleventh grade students of SMA Krenten Barana’ have positive attitude towards the use of interactive classroom activities in developing their communicative competence.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the ability to use idioms in sentences VIII.D grade students of SMP Negeri 1Tutallu. The study design used is dsekriktif. The population in this study is VIII.D grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tutallu who was 23 people. The sample was the entire population or using the total sample. The collection of data through tests, interviews and observations. The results showed that the ability to use idioms in sentences VIII.D grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Tutallu Polewali Mandar categorized able to score an average of 83.40. This is evident from the results of data analysis showed that among 23 samples including 11 categories capable learners or approximately 47.82% of learners achieved by 2 or by 8.69%. For category 7 is able to successfully achieved by learners or by 30.43%. and category 3 sufficiently achieved by the students or by 3:04%. VIII.D class participants categorized as capable with an average value of 83.47%.

Abstract

This study investigates the analysis of the needs of EFL students in using ICT as an ELT tool and material. This quantitative study involved 162 students drawn from twelve study programs: department of mathematics, department of Indonesian language, department of agriculture, department of agrotechnology, department of agribusiness, department of informatics engineering, department of information systems, department of communication Science, Department of Communication Science, department of State administration, department of health and society, department of Islamic economics at Universitas Al Asyariah Mandar. In this study, we will see how the development of modern information and communication technology (ICT) as tools and materials used in the classroom to help students learn English 1. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine what the needs and wants are and their shortcomings. Data has been collected and analyzed using a hybrid approach with questionnaires and interviews. This study found that most of the participants found it useful to integrate social media such as Youtube based as material, WhatsApp to communicate, and they recommended maximizing the use of Google technology (e-dictionary), Duolingo application, Rosetta Stone, Daily Learn English, and ELT in a virtual classroom in the middle COVID-19. Students were selected using a selective random sampling technique. The findings reveal that the genre approach media and technology is used to developing ICT as an English foreign language resource in higher education teaching are recommended by the findings of this study.

Abstract

Abstract. In today's information technology-integrated education, designing teaching activities for digital learning and flexibly using technology tools is the most important issue. The design of authentic materials and materials in English as a second or foreign language via Tubequizard's innovative web has a significant impact on language learners at the university level, according to this paper. Applying a mixed method, this study highlighted the undergraduate students’ perceptions of their experience with Tubequizard as ELT materials during COVID 19. By using purposive sampling, this study sample involved 71 students and five students for an online interview at the computer science faculty of Universitas Al Asyariah Mandar located at West Sulawesi, Indonesia. By conducting an online survey, the instruments of this study used a questionnaire and interviews. The findings of this study resulted in Tubequizard content being helpful to students to engage and motivate them in learning English, and their respondents strongly believe that Tubequizard is a technology innovation for lecturers in designing their teaching materials to be more interesting, easy to understand, Tubequizard materials according to the student’s needs, supported accelerate learning, suitable for all English skills, engage students in active and autonomous learning, expand students’ knowledge, meet positively students expectations in English class, encourage students to think creatively and critically, and suitable to give ideas for EFL classroom than the traditional model. Thus, it can be concluded that for teaching foreign languages, authentic and culturally appropriate materials are essential.Keywords: Digital language learning, developing materials, EFL, Technology and Tubequizard

Abstract

This study aims to describe the main character's resistance to racism in Theodore Melfi's film Hidden Figures. This research is a qualitative descriptive study, as a research procedure that can produce descriptive data that can be in the form of written or spoken words from people with observable behavior. Qualitative descriptive research aims to make a systematic, factual, and accurate description, description, or painting of facts and characteristics, as well as the relationship between things being investigated. The techniques in data analysis used in this study are 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) verification. The results obtained describe the existence of racial discrimination and the attitudes of the main character of the film Hidden Figures' resistance to discrimination which is divided into 6 parts, namely: 1) Racial Justification, 2) Classification Based on Skin Color in Place Settings, 3) Racism in Facilities General Black/Skin, 4) Unpleasant Treatment and, 5) Promote Equality.

Abstract

Sebagai pengajar guru bertugas menuangkan sejumlah bahan pelajaran ke dalam otak anak didik, sedangkan sebagai pendidik guru bertugas membimbing dan membina anak didik agar menjadi manusia susila yang cakap, aktif, kreatif, dan mandiri. Tugas yang berat dari seorang guru ini pada dasarnya hanya dapat dilaksanakan oleh guru yang memiliki kompetensi profesional yang tinggi. Untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme gurumaka perlu diadakan supervisi oleh kepala madrasah. Oleh karena itu peneliti tertarik untuk menjadikanya sebuah penelitian sebagai tugas akhir dengan judul “Peran Kompetensi Supervisi Kepala Madrasah dalam Meningkatkan Etos Kerja Guru MI DDI 366 Bumiayu Desa Bumiayu, Kecamatan Wonomulyo Kabupaten Polewali Mandar. Penelitian ini dalam rumusan masalah akan dibahas mengenai pelaksanaan dan hasil supervisi kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan etos kerja guru di MI DDI Bumiayu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian descriptive research. Lokasi penelitian ini adalah MI DDI Bumiayu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan observasi non partisipatif, wawancara terstruktur dan mendalam serta dokumentasi. Analisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengecekan keabsahan temuan dilakukan dengan ketekunan pengamatan, triangulasi dan kecukupan referensi. Berdasarkan proses pengumpulan dan analisis data, peneliti dapat menyimpulkan beberapa hal. Pertama, Pelaksanaan supervisi kepala sekolah di MI DDI Bumiayu melalui tiga tahap yaitu pada perencanaan supervisi, pelaksanaan supervisi dan evaluasi supervisi. Adapun pendekatan supervisi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan langsung dan tidak langsung namun pendekatannya lebih dekat dengan pendekatan supervisi manusiawi. Sedangkan teknik yang digunakan adalah dua teknik yaitu teknik individual yang meliputi kunjungan kelas, observasi kelas, pertemuan pribadi dan menilai sendiri, dan belum menerapkan kunjungan guru antar kelas Dan teknik kelompok meliputi rapat guru, diskusi, seminar, workshop dan organisasi jabatan.dan belum menerapkan tukar menukar pengalaman antar guru, diskusi panel, perpustakaan jabatan, dan simposium. Hasil supervisi yang dilakukan oleh kepala sekolah MI DDI Bumiayu adalah mampu meningkatkan etos kerja guru pada kompetensi pedagogik, kompetensi kepribadian, kompetensi profesional dan kompetensi sosial.
