Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kearifan sistem pemerintahan Puang Rimaggalatung dalam Lontarak Bugis. Melalui representasi kearifan tersebut, beliau mengamanatkan falsafah hidupnya dalam menjalankan roda pemerintahan. Berkenaan dengan tujuan tersebut, penulis menerapkan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis struktural dengan teknik penelitian baca- simak dan observasi. Data penelitian ini adalah nasihat Puang Rimaggalatung yang tertuang dalam Lontarak Bugis, sebuah buku yang ditulis oleh Muhammad Sikki dan diterbitkan oleh Pusat Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Bahasa, Departemen Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan pada tahun 1995. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh kearifan Puang Rimaggalatung dalam sistem pemerintahannya berupa nasihat yang mengedepankan prinsip berikut: (1) jujur, (2) adil, (3) tegas, (4) saling memaafkan, (5) taat adat, dan (6) sopan santun. Representasi kearifan tersebut dapat diwariskan kepada generasi mendatang dalam mengemban amanah. Kehadiran pemerintah yang arif sangat didambakan masyarakat untuk menciptakan harmonisasi antara pemerintah dan warganya.Abstract:This study aims at describing the wisdom of government system of Puang Rimaggalatung in “Lontarak Bugis”. Through the wisdom representation, he suggested his philosophy  in running the government. Regarding this, the writer applies descriptive qualitative method through struc- tural analysis with reading-listening and observation techniques. The data were taken from the advices of Puang Rimaggalatung in “Lontarak Bugis”, a book written by Muhammad Sikki and published by Pusat Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Bahasa, Departemen Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan in 1995. The study indicates  that the wisdom of Puang Rimaggalatung in his government system is in form of some advices with basic principles, such as: (1) honesty, (2) fairness, (3) firmness, (4) forgiving, (5) obedience to custom, and (6) respect. The wisdom can be inherited to the next gen- eration in carying out people’s mandates.  The presence of wise government is expected to create good  harmony between the government and its people.

Abstract

The study examines students' perceptions on the thesis mentoringprocess regarding their nonverbal communication patterns in the English studyprogram, FKIP of Halu Oleo University. The scope and focus are kinesics,proxemics, oculesics, chronemics, paralanguage, and physical appearance.Thisstudy apply a qualitative approach. The data obtained employing interview anddocumentation are then analyzed by Miles and Huberman's theory using reduction,reporting, and verification. The subjects of the study are eight graduated studentsand two students in the mentoring process. The study results shows that the sixtypes of nonverbal which are most likely to be experienced more often andinfluentially are ‘kinesics’, which is like the supervisor's attitude serving thestudents. Other nonverbal types continue to take on roles but are not as influentialas kinesics. This study reveals that the importance of communication is able toincrease student attention and motivation in constructing ideas gained from theirsupervisors when the communication process is going well and vice versa.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the critics on human attitude in fables along with their existence asa critic media in Buginese society. The researcher applies descriptive-qualitative method through electical approach. The techniques of research are identification, note, observation, and analysis. A number of Buginese folklores in a book entitled Sastra Lisan Bugis published by Educational and Cultural Department in 1981 contain the population of research. The research samples are taken purposively as the data. The fables used as data are (1) Buaya dan Kerbau; (2) Pelanduk dan Macan; (3) Putteang dan Karoakkak; and (4) Rusa dan Kura-Kura. Based on the analysis,the researcher found some critics on human attitudes like greed, stupidness, fear, revenge, lie, andarrogance. These attitudes are still found in Buginese society

Abstract

A good literary works are able to give positive values to human being. This research aims to describe the elements, meaning, and cultural values in the poems that contain positive values for human life. The researcher applies qualitative method through objective and intuitive approaches. The meaning and cultural values of the poems are intuitively gained from the result of the analysis objectively. The data are “Kata Cinta Usia 51”, “Jabatan Yang Hilang” and “Kita Adalah Pemilik Sah Republik Ini.” Objectively, these poems have the themes of belief in worldly life, the excessive mistaken, and the resurrection of life. Intuitively, the meaning of these three poems makes people aware that life is only temporary, so they cannot escape from gratitude, must not feel despair in facing hardships, are not mistaken by the beauty of the world, and strive to achieve a good quality of life. The cultural values of these poems are gratitude, fortitude, faithful, patience, bravery, firmness, and responsibility. These reflect the characters and identities of young generations as their identities, so they are different from other nations, in order to awaken their identity as a dignified Indonesian nation.   ABSTRAKKarya sastra yang baik mampu memberi nilai positif terhadap manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan unsur, makna, dan nilai budaya dalam puisi yang bernilai positif bagi kehidupan manusia. Penulis menerapkan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif melalui pendekatan objektif dan intuitif. Makna dan nilai budaya dalam puisi secara intuitif diperoleh dari hasil analisis secara objektif. Data adalah puisi “Kata Cinta Usia 51,” “Jabatan Yang Hilang,” dan “Kita Adalah Pemilik Sah Republik Ini.” Secara objektif, puisi tersebut bertemakan keyakinan terhadap kehidupan duniawi, kekeliruan yang berlebihan, dan kebangkitan hidup. Secara intuitif, makna ketiga puisi tersebut menyadarkan manusia bahwa hidup hanya sementara sehingga tidak terlepas dari rasa syukur, jangan putus asa menghadapi cobaan, jangan keliru dengan keindahan dunia, dan berjuang mencapai kehidupan yang berkualitas. Adapun nilai budaya dari puisi tersebut adalah kesyukuran, ketabahan, keyakinan, kesabaran, keberanian, keteguhan, dan bertanggung jawab. Hal demikian mencerminkan karakter dan identitas anak bangsa sebagai jati diri mereka, sehingga berbeda dengan bangsa lain, dalam rangka menggungah identitas sebagai bangsa Indonesia yang bermartabat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikankan tata cara pembelajaranmenulis yang baik dan efektif dengan menawarkan dua hal pokok, yaitu materi ajar berupa karya sastra (puisi) dan teknik pembelajaran menulis berupa teknik menulis  ulang.  Sejalan  dengan  tujuan  tersebut,  penelitian  ini  menerapkan metode  deskriptif  kualitatif  dengan  mengedepankan  penerapan  data  dalam proses  pembelajaran.  Data  dalam  penelitian  ini  adalah  puisi  yang  berjudul “Fire and Ice” karya Robert Frost. Data diperoleh dari Wikipedia yang telah diterbitkan oleh Harper‟s Magazine pada tahun 1920. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, materi ajar puisi dan teknik menulis ulang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran menulis bahasa Inggris melalui rencana pembelajaran yang ditetapkan.  Rencana  pembelajaran  tersebut  didesain  dengan  menggunakan materi   ajar   puisi,   kemudian   siswa   diarahkan   untuk   menulis   dengan menggunakan teknik menulis ulang. Rencana pembelajaran tersebut dapat pula membantu guru dan siswa agar dapat berinteraksi secara aktif dan efektif dalam proses pembelajaran menulis bahasa Inggris di kelas. This research is aimed to describe the way of teaching writing well and effectively by suggesting two mainpoints, those are poetry as a part of literary works as teaching material and rewriting technique as an applicable techniquein teaching writing. As line with the aim, this research applies qualitative descriptive method which focuses on the application of a datum in teaching-learning process. The datum of this research is a poem under the title of “Fire and Ice” by Robert Frost. The datum is from Wikipedia which had published by Harper‟s  Magazine  in  1920.  Based  on  the  result  of  this  research,  teachingmaterial of poetry and rewriting technique can be applied in teaching English writing through lesson plan designed. The lesson plan is designed by usingteaching material of poetry, and then the students are directed to write by using rewriting technique. The lesson plan can also guide teacher and students to interact actively and effectively in teaching and learning English writing in theclassroom.

Abstract

Abstract. In today's information technology-integrated education, designing teaching activities for digital learning and flexibly using technology tools is the most important issue. The design of authentic materials and materials in English as a second or foreign language via Tubequizard's innovative web has a significant impact on language learners at the university level, according to this paper. Applying a mixed method, this study highlighted the undergraduate students’ perceptions of their experience with Tubequizard as ELT materials during COVID 19. By using purposive sampling, this study sample involved 71 students and five students for an online interview at the computer science faculty of Universitas Al Asyariah Mandar located at West Sulawesi, Indonesia. By conducting an online survey, the instruments of this study used a questionnaire and interviews. The findings of this study resulted in Tubequizard content being helpful to students to engage and motivate them in learning English, and their respondents strongly believe that Tubequizard is a technology innovation for lecturers in designing their teaching materials to be more interesting, easy to understand, Tubequizard materials according to the student’s needs, supported accelerate learning, suitable for all English skills, engage students in active and autonomous learning, expand students’ knowledge, meet positively students expectations in English class, encourage students to think creatively and critically, and suitable to give ideas for EFL classroom than the traditional model. Thus, it can be concluded that for teaching foreign languages, authentic and culturally appropriate materials are essential.Keywords: Digital language learning, developing materials, EFL, Technology and Tubequizard

Abstract

This research aims to portray the current representation of the term “technology” in association with other related terms in language education. The method used for this study is the combination of content analysis representation of both compleat lextutor analytical tool and bibliometric approach. The finding of the research is that four basic areas relate to language and technology in language training: multiculturalism and technology become a central theme; the technology in language skill, knowledge, and assessment; technology and thinking; and technology in language and linguistics. This research implies that educators should be able to utilize available practical technological tools for teaching, learning, analyzing, and modeling language education. Further, this research has been limited to the area of published manuscripts of language education which may cover specifically non-empirical primary data. Therefore, further empirical research may bolster the current findings of the bibliometric research on language and technology in language education.

Abstract

 Modern education has shifted from teacher-centred to student-centred. This transition occurs because educators today work as instructional designers, facilitators, trainers, and learning administrators. Globalization and millennial students are destroying traditional schooling. Technology use is rising. This has adverse effects since youngsters are unwilling to utilize books to improve their mathematical literacy. This happens when pupils need help conceiving, applying, and comprehending mathematical concepts. To improve students' mathematical literacy, a teacher must create modern materials. This study is about R&D. This research produced a math learning tool for 12th-graders. The software emphasizes three-dimensional materials and is based on GeoGebra and Instagram. This study uses the Four-D development model: definition, design, development, and deployment. Modern three-dimensional educational materials made with Canva are the results of this research study. These contents will then be posted on Instagram. This essay will comprehensively analyze data collection, analysis, and Instagram content publishing. Currently, this research is in development, not distribution. Test sheets and questionnaires are used. Observation, interviews, questionnaires, and testing collect data. After observation and interviews, a questionnaire is distributed to finish the study. Pre- and post-tests assessed how GeoGebra Instagram content affected students' understanding of "point-to-point distance" in three-dimensional material. The article will detail this media's methods and results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan sains siswa tunagrahita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 60 siswa tunagrahita yang dibagi secara acak ke dalam dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan aplikasi media pembelajaran dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t untuk mengukur perbedaan peningkatan pengetahuan sains antara kedua kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pengetahuan sains siswa tunagrahita yang menggunakan aplikasi media pembelajaran dibandingkan dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode konvensional (p < 0,05). Nilai rata-rata posttest kelompok eksperimen meningkat sebesar 35% dibandingkan dengan nilai rata-rata pretest, sedangkan kelompok kontrol hanya mengalami peningkatan sebesar 10%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan aplikasi media pembelajaran efektif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan sains siswa tunagrahita. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran dapat memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi siswa dengan kebutuhan khusus. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan bagi pendidik dan pengambil kebijakan dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inklusif dan efektif.
