Abstract

This service is motivated by the presence of a coronavirus disease that has been determined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic condition with a massive level of ability to spread the virus to the entire world population, including Indonesia. Efforts to control and prevent the transmission of the corona virus are carried out by interacting and maintaining physical distance from others. These policies have an impact on all aspects of life, including the learning process of students at school. The biggest problem related to the bold learning process occurs in educators in kindergarten and elementary school in Simpang sub-district. The educators have difficulty in the bold learning process because of the lack of ability in the IT field. Although the average educator has a computer, but they are not able to operate it first for the learning process boldly. They only give assignments directly to students without any learning process. This has an impact on the ability and motivation of students in learning. We try to provide training and assistance in the use of modified Powerpoint media to overcome these problems with the target being the teacher's ability to use Modified Powerpoint so that the learning process is effective, innovative and fun for students.

Abstract

A community service has been carried out with the topic of Scientific Publication Training in the National Journal for Teachers of SMP Negeri 2 Buay Madang Timur which is embodied in an agenda with the theme of Publication Management. This service aims to provide training and understanding of scientific publications in the teacher's morning national journal. The method implemented is using training and mentoring methods regarding scientific publications in national journals. In the activity carried out several stages of material topics that lead to the main goal. The stages of the material presented include the importance of scientific publications to teachers, then continued with an explanation of what components are contained in scientific publications, and finally the practice of scientific publication training. After the activity took place the teacher felt helped by this training. Teachers become more aware of the importance of scientific publications for teachers, one of which is for functional promotions, teachers become more aware of how to make good and correct scientific papers, and teachers know and know how to publish scientific papers through the online submission process..

Abstract

Critical Thinking  merupakan keterampilan pengetahuan dalam meningkatkan pemikiraan menjadi lebih terarah, memformulasikan kesimpulan dan membuat keputusan. Diwalai dengan kegiatan observasi pada materi GLBB di SMA Muhammdiyah Karang tengah, difahami bahwa perlu adanya upaya untuk mengetahui bagaimana Critical Thinking  siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hal ini menjadi sangat penting untuk dilakukan karena dengan mengetahui tingkat Critical Thinking  siswa maka guru akan mudah memberikan treatment kepada siswa di kelas tersebut. Untuk mengetahui kemampuan Critical Thinking  siswa dilakukan dengan teknik pemberian angket. Sebelum angket tersebut digunakan maka terlebih dahulu dilakukan validasi agar mendapatkan isntrumen yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada beberapa aspek Critical Thinking  yang diukur mendapatkan hasil: 1) kemampuan memahami persoalan rata-rata 77,91. 2) kemampuan menggunakan dan mengelola informasi dalam menginvestigasi masalah rata-rata 79,69. 3) kemampuan untuk menggunakan dan mengelola informasi dalam merancang pemecahan masalah rata-rata 79,69. 4) kemampuan berfikir secara sistematis rata-rata 78,13. 5) kemampuan untuk menghasilkan resolusi rata-rata 81,51.

Abstract

This research is a type of research that focuses on efforts to increase student scientific literacy. The purpose of this study is to characterize the profile of increasing students' scientific literacy abilities through the development of socio-scientific-based worksheets. The research sample was 2C semester students in the Physics Education Study Program for the 2022–2023 academic year, with a total of 10 students, and the research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The findings show that the average N-gain obtained is 0.48, which is included in the moderate improvement category. The significance level of 0.00, less than 0.05 (sign. 0.05), was found in the results of hypothesis testing using the t test, indicating that Ho was not accepted. Based on the test results, there is a significant difference between the level of scientific literacy of students before and after implementing learning by making socioscience-based worksheets. This study shows how teaching using socio-scientific-oriented worksheets can raise the profile of students' scientific literacy abilities.

Abstract

Virtual Laboratory (V-Lab) is a media platform for interaction and visualization of learning for practicum-based courses. V-Lab is a solution to learning problems due to the lack of real laboratory facilities as well as an alternative for practicums that require a high level of safety. The purpose of this study was to determine students' mastery of concepts after using the V-Lab in the core Physics course. The method used is quasi-experimental. The research subjects were 15 Unuha physics education students. The data collection technique is a concept mastery test. The results showed that the increase in mastery of the concept was 0.432 with moderate criteria, while based on the paired sample test, it was known that the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 <0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an average difference between pre-test and post-test concept mastery, which means that there is an influence of V-Lab application in increasing mastery of core physics concepts. The data shows that the Virtual Laboratory is effectively used to improve mastery of the concepts of core physics courses.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan Quizizz sebagai media interaktif dalam meningkatkan minat dan hasil belajar Bahasa Inggris dan IPA pada siswa kelas VIII di MTs Nurul Huda. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode Pre experimental design dengan desain one group pretest posttest design. Sampel merupakan 30 siswa kelas VII MTs Nurul Huda yang dipilih secara acak . Didapatkan temuan uji-t dengan thitung sebesar 7,931 untuk minat belajar dan 2,706 untuk hasil belajar mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris setelah diberikan perlakuan. Sedangkan pada mata pelajaran IPA mendapatkan nilai thitung sebesar 4.164 untuk minat belajar dan 5.107 untuk hasil belajar siswa. Dan Ditentukan bahwa penggunaan media interaktif Quizizz berdampak pada motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa di kelas Bahasa Inggris dan IPA berdasarkan nilai thitung dibandingkan dengan nilai ttabel dengan db=50 pada tingkat signifikansi 5%Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Quizizz secara signifikan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa terhadap Bahasa Inggris dan IPA. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan dalam hasil belajar siswa dalam kedua mata pelajaran tersebut. Siswa yang menggunakan Quizizz mengalami peningkatan yang lebih baik dalam pemahaman materi dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah, dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of the Model Group Investigation model and the Number Head Together model on learning outcomes. Quasi-experimental method used in this research, the instrument used is multiple choice questions that produce research data. Research data were analyzed using t-test. The results showed that the Group Investigation model and the Number Head Together model could improve learning outcomes. In the result, the class that used the Group Investigation model had a higher score than the class that used the Number Head Together model. For further research, it is necessary to apply a model integrated with interactive multimedia, so that, it will be more interesting and can motivate students in learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of 8th grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Madang Suku I. So, the researchers examined the influence of Cooperative Learning Model Point-Counter-Point Type (PCP) on students’ learning outcomes in learning materials Vibration and Waves. With the aim to determine the effect of Point-Counter-Point Cooperative Learning model (PCP) on students’ learning outcomes. The sampling technique in this study was done by random sampling. The experimental class used PCP learning model while the control class used Lecture method. Data collection techniques using written tests and hypothesis testing using the T test. Based on the test results, obtained an average score of the experimental class is 70.22 and the average score of the control class is 63.28, so it can be seen that there is a significant influence on students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether there is an effect on the results of learning physics uses the accelerated learning approach with the whole brain teaching method on work and simple plane material at SMP Terpadu Pondok Pesantren Nurul Huda, 2020/2021 academic year. This research was a quantitative research. The population in this study were students of class VIII at the Nurul Huda Integrated Junior High School, which consisted of 5 classes. The sample in this study was carried out randomly. The experimental class conducted learning by applying the accelerated learning approach through the whole brain teaching method,while the control class used conventional methods. Data collection techniques to determine student learning outcomes using test instruments, and testing the hypothesis using the t-test. Based on the test results, the experimental class average score is 73 and the control class average is 71. The t test results show that tcount = 2.53 and ttable = 1.68, so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect or difference in the average score between the class with accelerated learning approach with the whole brain teaching method and the class with conventional methods.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of the pictorial riddle learning method on the mastery of physics concepts for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 2 Buay Madang in the 2020/2021 academic year. This research was an experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Buay Madang, totaling 49 students. The samples of this research were students in class VIII A, which amounted to 25 students as the experimental class, and class VIII B, which consisted of 24 students as the control class. The data collection method in this research was the test method. The data analysis used was a statistical test using the t polled variant t test statistical formula. Based on data analysis using the t polled variant test, it was concluded that the results of the posttest physics of students learning with the pictorial riddle method were high. Of the 25 students, there were 15 students (60%) who scored in the high category, and the average score of the class posttest results was 78.58. The results of the posttest physics of students who learned using conventional methods were in the low category, from a total of 24 students, 12 students (50%) obtained low category scores, and the average score of posttest results was 67.75. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the pictorial riddle method on mastery of physics concepts in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Buay Madang for the 2020/2021 academic year with a tcount of 7.37 while ttable is 1.98. Because tcount score is not located between - ttable ≤ tcount <+ ttable, which is -1.98 and +1.98, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.
